It's now past September 6th. So if AMW does come back, it will surpass even the wait from Fox to Lifetime two years ago. I know technically the wait has already been longer, but I mean the "we're back" date will be further in the year. Not all that surprising considering this was going to be an even more desperate situation, but just thought this was an interesting fact to share.

According to Roger Chiang, they are still in talks with a few networks and hope to be back soon. No idea who those networks are but I agree ID can cover the cost of the re-enactments. The license fees are another story if they really are that prohibitive as people make them out to be. But I am tired of this whole "woe is Lifetime" concept. They just strike me as a cheap network in general. They cancelled Drop Dead Diva, a show I don't watch but was very popular over production costs, brought it back after fan protest and from what I read still haven't decided whether to renew it for another season. Lifetime stinks, no sympathy from me. Unless they bring AMW back. What about ION?

I would be happy with ION. They're on regular (non-pay) tv and play crime dramas albeit repeats so that's a good thing. So far they have not rumored as a possibility though. But I like your idea and agree with you it would make a good choice!

This is potentially good and potentially bad news.
John Walsh has talked about doing a "World's Most Wanted" for years. In a new article, he told a group of Texas law enforcement that the series is being developed for CNN.
Its not that I'd not be happy for that but as we stated on the old AMW.com forum this is such an amazing show but their international capture record has a lot of technicalities such as chance glances at the website to it.
After AMW was cancelled the second time by Fox, Walsh even stated to the New York Times you need an "America's Most Wanted" to do a "World's Most Wanted"
AMW's EIC stated they were still in discussions to bring back AMW but I am a bit discouraged since its been over a month and a week since he said that on WGN. I still have my fingers crossed though!

It would be better than nothing, even though I was never big on the whole "World's Most Wanted" thing.

It would be better than nothing, even though I was never big on the whole "World's Most Wanted" thing. I'm hoping this will be an additional project as it always is supposed to have been and AMW is revived as well on CNN or another network. Or a worst case (or best case depending on how you view things) scenario they changed the original concept of this new show and it's essentially AMW with some of the old cases but with more international fugitives.

Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part but the fall season has just started on network tv, and some popular shows from the Summer on cable are just ending their seasons. Perhaps if AMW has any chance of all at coming back, they might think it would be wise to wait for the fall shows to have their premieres first so their attention won't be diverted to seeing how the returning and new shows on the networks are.
This is somewhat off-topic too, but is it just me or is the fall tv season starting later than usual this year?

I know its starting the same time as usual, but for some reason it just "feels" later. maybe tv just feels out of whack to me without amw.

So now a new arrticle that states John Walsh and crew will be in Marysville, California filming for "John Walsh Investigates" next week on the topic of sexual predators.: www.appeal-democrat.com/articles/walsh-127998-marysville-crew.htmlI am happy if JWI is picked up. However, the article also says the show "replaces America's Most Wanted" I don't know what to think of is since it's a small town newspaper and a lot of people thought JWI was AMW's replacement originally, not realizing that at least until the summer AMW was still trying to shop themselves to other networks regardless of is Lifetime greenlighted JWI or not. So we have one article claiming World's Most Wanted going to CNN. Another article claiming JWI is AMW's replacement. Things are out of whack and I guess we'll have to wait for official announcements from Walsh and crew or more than one source. I had so much hope when Chiang said on WGN they were in talks to bring AMW back in August. I know it's an expensive show to produce, and a contract isn't signed in five seconds, but I don't get how not one network wouldn't want to take a chance on it by now. Unless Fox are still being butt heads with the license fees. I still have my fingers crossed, but all these stories claiming different things makes this frustrating.

Another link states the name of the episode Walsh's production will be filming this week is called "Code 290" (which is California's penal code for registered sex offenders. They actually claim this to be the name of the show, but I'm assuming it's the name of the JWI episode. Or whatever it is. So to clarify: -The status of AMW is unknown. Although the executive-in-charge said on WGN on August 13th, they were in discussions on getting AMW back and "hope to be back soon" wgntv.com/2013/08/13/americas-most-wanteds-roger-chiang-on-loss-of-sister-and-missing-children-cases/-One small town paper claims John Walsh is developing World's Most Wanted for CNN without any more national media sources or official word from Walsh or AMW: www.mywesttexas.com/top_stories/article_36d6e7aa-2010-11e3-ae1c-001a4bcf887a.html-One small town paper claims Walsh and crew will be in Marysville, California this week filming for "John Walsh Investigates" and claims it replaces AMW (the link doesn't work anymore, so you'll have to take my word for it that it said that ). However, we know from the past that Lifetime had always been planning on developing JWI regardless of if AMW was brought back or not. The good news is whatever it is they're filming this week, JWI, Code 290, or whatever it's called, one article claims it will profile sex offenders and at least one sex offender will be profiled on the show (it doesn't say who but that a civilian investigator says the show is helping her find a sex offender), meaning they will show at least one fugitive and probably more: www.appeal-democrat.com/articles/sex-128008-marysville-walsh.htmlSo in conclusion, obviously we need more official words from more media sources and even AMW themselves before confirming anything. World's Most Wanted and JWI were always meant to be side projects, but I will welcome anything John Walsh-related with open arms. Hopefully, AMW can come back as well though.

Find it weird they said Walsh's Production company was coming to California for JWI but no articles about that after the day they were supposedly filming it. Wonder if they ever came. Also, out of curiosity, I messaged MyNetwork's Facebook, a longshot but Fox does own their rights, and asked if there was any hope in the future of them adding AMW. They told me it was a "complicated issue but keep watching." I found that a weird response since Fox who owns AMW's rights owns MyNetwork. Is it complicated because MyNetwork mainly doesn't really air original programming, because another network may have beat them out as Walsh and crew's selection, or another reason? In any case, they're mainly a rerun network so I can't be too mad at them and I'm glad they were responsive to me. If any recalls Lifetime's Facebook page when AMW was still in limbo with them, it took the jaws of life to get them to say anything, even a standard corporate line. But having never aired AMW before, it's not like MyNetwork has a duty to air the show, and it's their right to air whatever they want. I just really like the idea of them and think it would be wise for them to pick AMW up since they're on non-pay tv. I have cable, but I still like looking out for everyone. Whether it's AMW or Connected To The Case or John Walsh Investigates or World's Most Wanted or anything by other name, I would like to see news of any weekly show profiling fugitives on any network already though. It's high-time we put these alleged scumbags' mugs on tv again!

Today is the one-year anniversary of the October 12th, 2012 "season finale" of AMW on Lifetime. Hard to believe we've been without it for a year now.

I follow at moment former AMW correspondent Angeline Hartman's page on Facebook. One of her fellow followers asked her yesterday about airing her case and Hartman replied "we are ready to go. As you know, we shot the interviews and things are in place but AMW needs a new home. Your story is long overdue and the suspect needs to be arrested! I think of you all often and will keep trying"
So this is apparently encouraging and discouraging since AMW is apparently still trying and apparently even shot interviews for a case but still hasn't found a new home as of yesterday. I hope they didn't hit any snafus and I hope Fox are not still being buttheads. (If so Fox, let it go already, this show is more important than license fees!)
Kind of surprising to hear her say this considering they're on the ID channel, which many of us feel is the perfect home for AMW. (MyNetwork is my #1 choice only because it's on regular tv, but ID channel is a perfect fit and my preferred cable choice if AMW ever does come back)
