Only a half hour until the season finale! Hope we get a capture and/or recovery this week. I jinxed things previously.

They did the show justice for a season finale- having no idea what The Hunt's first missing child case would look like- Jacob Wetterling was well-done and it was interesting looking at all the clues and whether the assaults in nearby towns were related. Sadly, I don't feel Jacob is alive anymore- but I think what the Wetterlings want more than anything else is to take away the not knowing- as painful as knowing the final outcome may be.
Genevieve and Scott Kelley had updates I was not expecting! I didn't know about the calls and hangs ups from Brazil in the past ten years and then of course the major bombshell at the end of the episode- Genevive called to surrender earlier this year but still hasn't!
I do wonder why Scott Kelley wasn't shown though. Is it believed Genevieve is on her own with Mary now? I'm just wondering if The Hunt does get a capture and recovery if Scott Kelley will count now lol.
My only complaint is I think both cases could have been a half hour in length since they left out the part about Mary's condition and also about Scott Kelley, but all in all good show to tonight. I hope season 2 comes soon with more than 8 episodes.
Great job to The Hunt on their first season!

Well I'm very pleased that I liked the season finale far better than last week's episode. I felt that Jacob Wetterling's segment was well spaced out and done well. If the man arrested in 1990 is responsible, then someone has to come forward with more information. Genevieve Kelly's segment was also pretty good and I'm glad that a parental abductor fugitive was aired on the first season. The only issue I had was that Scott Kelley was only referenced on the missing child photo and not even by name, I mean he is a fugitive as well. Also the fact that there are on average, 200,000 parental abductions each year in the US really shows the need for more attention on those fugitives.

Checked my cable guide and assuming breaking news doesn't cut into it there is a The Hunt with John Walsh marathon on Sunday night! This seems to be a last-minute program change here is the schedule, all in Eastern Standard Time: 8 PM- William Bradford Bishop 9 PM- Christopher Ponce/David Burgert 10 PM- Thayne Smika/Rick McLean 11 PM- Guillermo Madrigal Ballesteros Midnight- Victor Barnard 1 AM- Jacob Wetterling/Genevieve Kelly All right, now that I see these are being re-run in the off-season I feel better about the one or two cases an episode now.

Stickied the cases to their respective sections just for tonight to help any viewers who look up find them.

Not home but for curiosity purposes can someone please let me know if CNN is actually showing The Hunt tonight as planned? Hopefully we can actually get some bad guys if they play the damn reruns!

Nevermind, saw that they did play the re-runs thanks to searching the #jointhehunt hashtag on Twitter.

So tonight unless breaking news happens there is a late night Hunt marathon with episodes 3,5,6,7, and 8 airing 11 PM ET to 3 AM ET. Although I am frustrated since my guide said Chris Ponce/David Burgert was supposed to be on at 8 PM and it seems they have something else on. That's the second time they cancelled that episode! I'm pissed about that since because of the social media campaign in addition to the case touching viewers, he's probably the most popular still unsolved Hunt case this season. Considering how many people are interested in his case, you'd think he'd be the one they re-run the most often since he's probably the one at the moment they have the best chance at a direct capture on. I want Dave Burgert caught too, but I think Ponce has a MUCH better chance of getting caught off The Hunt which is why I mainly am pissed about him. At least Ponce did get a Sunday at 9 PM repeat slot last week. But yeah late-night binge on The Hunt if you're up! The irony is I can see the search for Eric Frein interrupting the scheduled re-runs, but at least in that case it would be a fugitive case interrupting a fugitive show.

I should also note they also haven't re-played the Stoeser/Mozdir episode in a while either. While Mozdir we no longer have to worry about, Stoeser is still-at-large and they have gotten good tips on him so it would be nice to see him aired again too.

Somewhat off-topic but Anthony Bourdain's "Parts Unknown" which has had the Sunday at 9 PM time slot prior to and now after The Hunt, has dropped by double digits in its' season 4 debut compared to last fall's season 2 debut. Just because we love The Hunt doesn't mean we should root for other shows to fail or not watch them because they're in The Hunt's time slot. (not what I think is happening here, but I saw some people complaining he was on instead of John Walsh). While I don't go out of my to watch Bourdain like I do John Walsh, it's a good and entertaining show when I do see it. Not to mention, since this is the same production company (Zero Point Zero), it should be noted if it wasn't for Anthony Bourdain's initial success on CNN, The Hunt with ZPZ may have never happened in the first place. Just highlighting this because it needs to be stressed we can't be complacent once The Hunt returns despite its' CNN record-smashing summer. It seems out of sight out of mind for fans when it comes to many shows and we can't afford that considering AMW was cancelled three times. Anyway, The Hunt will be back. Bourdain has a good show too that I also recommend, and let's make sure to tell everyone who hasn't seen it yet to watch The Hunt once it returns. deadline.com/2014/09/anthony-bourdain-parts-unknown-ratings-season-premiere-cnn-842970/

The Hunt are in negotiations for a contract on a second season according to a source of mine. (For all the people who ask me to get their case on The Hunt, having a source doesn't mean I can ask that or that I'm "officially" connected. Just in case that comes up. ) But CNN's successes lately are in the Original Series business and I don't think The Hunt was ever really threatened. The only surprise I see is Jane Velez-Mitchell as I thought her show was somewhat popular. Somewhat off-topic but my favorite comment on that article is the first one: "Have security escort Nancy Grace out." LOL!!!!!

So this is just me speculating- it seems The Hunt has a great shot at renewal but I'm wondering if the reason for the wait on a second season is they're planning to wait for football season to be over so The Hunt doesn't have to compete with it on Sunday nights. Hey I watch football too but I want to see John Walsh get a touchdown more than anyone else. I also think one of those post-January months has a "sweeps week" where networks debut new or returning shows and go all out for advertisers.

Oh The Hunt's Tip webpage still lists Charles Modzir and Shane Franklin Miller as options, LOL.
