Back on the old amw.com forums, there was a thread called "Upcoming in AMW" where we'd post spoilers or articles on what would happen in upcoming episodes, fugitives that would be profiled, episode reviews etc. Since we now know John Walsh will have a new show on CNN, I figured now would be the time for this thread. For those who don't know, AMW is now "The Hunt" (Perhaps AMW will be brought back too one day but that would be speculation. The Hunt seems to be AMW's de facto replacement). This thread is mainly for concrete news. Not sure if we should discuss who we'd like to see profiled or who we think we'll see profiled on the other thread about the announcement or whether that would be duplication, but nevertheless here's what we do know: -The Hunt With John Walsh will debut Sunday, July 13th on CNN at 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central -The show is said to be similar to AMW, but with a more international bent to it. -The show is being produced by Anthony Bourdain's Production Company, Zero Point Zero Productions. Anthony Bourdain's "Parts Unknown" is one of CNN's highest-rated shows. -John Walsh has promised the show will go "outside the box" in attempt to draw younger viewers. I think it would be a good idea to mention in this thread that case updates regarding fugitives profiled on The Hunt should be posted in individual case threads.

I think when we review how good or bad the episode was (hopefully really good!), it's ok to mention it in passing but yeah it should also be on the thread on the fugitive should there happen to be one on him/her.

Also, Pakman will still do the recaps. I realize unlike the old amw.com forums, I am the admin, but I like continuing traditions and that was his thing on there.

Minor correction on my part. I think AMW might have been Sundays at 8 as opposed to 9 but it any case it definitely debuted on a Sunday night!

Ah crap. Maybe The Hunt is at 10 then. Sucks if it's in a later spot (especially since I sometimes like watching football on Sunday nights and at 9 PM and I'd still have a lot of the game left- but if push came to shove I'm more loyal to Walsh and the AMW brand),.but at the same time Death Row Stories is a pretty popular show so it's a good lead-in for The Hunt. www.thewrap.com/cnns-death-row-stories-wins-key-demo-timeslot-cable-news-premiere/Also, I believe unlike Fox and Lifetime, CNN's shows always air live Pacific Time and then repeated three hours later in the east coast designated time slot. So if the Hunt is say 10 PM- it would mean it would also air at 7 PM Los Angeles time but then people in that area would see it again at 10.

Found this online. Apparently they were shooting *something* for the Hunt, sounds like establishment shots as opposed to segments. TV Series: The Hunt with John Walsh (Zero Point Zero Productions) Description: Shooting generic b-roll and establishments for The Hunt, which is a documentary-style, non-fiction program for CNN starring John Walsh, the iconic former host of America’s Most Wanted. The Hunt’s mission is similar to the earlier program: it tells the stories of a wide range of criminal cases in which the perpetrator is a fugitive, or in which the perpetrator remains at large. When: April 25, 2014 (7am - 7pm) Where: Various Locations Film only: Pennsylvania Ave NW btw 15th and 17th St Independence Ave SW btw 3rd and 14th St Constitution Ave NW btw 3rd and 15th St Foggy Bottom neighborhood and GW University area (tbd) As excited as I am for "The Hunt With John Walsh", I'm also nervous about what it will entail in I hope it will be as close to AMW as possible (with just a few more international cases). It comforts me though that they say similar to the earlier program which makes it sound like basically a continuation of AMW. I just hope it involves some of the same things- a phone number, website, capture counter, multiple fugitives in one show etc. (I do take it though since Fox still owns the rights to AMW if they do a capture counter the Hunt's first would be direct capture #1 as opposed to AMW/The Hunt #1205. We'll see though. In a way this is exciting since re-enactments can sometimes be cheesy. It might actually benefit to make an AMW documentary-style show. film.dc.gov/release/tv-series-hunt-john-walsh-zero-point-zero-productionsAlso, just wanted to add, I hate to be a killjoy on such an exciting thread and this is somewhat off-topic, but CNN is driving me crazy with their flight 370 coverage. I'm not trying to make fun of a tragedy but I can't tell you how many times I've had to yell at my tv "CNN, it's not breaking news unless you find the *bleeping* plane!!!!". I'm only bringing this up since if CNN reads this, I want them to know not to interrupt my show and John Walsh's mission with breaking non-news.

I'm glad you brought up the flight 370 issue and I was considering bringing it up myself. Considering that the plane may never be found sadly, I don't see the point as to why it needs to be such a big story after how long it's been. This is why I'm glad that I mainly watch BBC world news and Canadian stations (although I do like to check cnn.com).
Also I am excited that this could be more of a documentary-type show, especially since some of the reenactments in the last few years of AMW (including ones on Lifetime), were losing their quality, at least in my opinion.

Jon Stewart's been ripping them apart on The Daily Show for their coverage, and it's been pretty funny. I don't receive it with my package, but of all channels, I hear many people claim Al Jazeera America of all channels is the most legitimate of the 24-hour news networks. And although I don't receive the channel to confirm this, I believe them. Still, while their news coverage can still be improved, signing up John Walsh was the best decision they've ever made.
