This is going to be so awesome! Kudos that they're airing Shane Franklin Miller, Kevin Stoeser and Victor Barnard right away (I'm assuming that since they're in the promo, they all could be on the premiere episode).

www.cnn.com/interactive/2014/06/us/the-hunt/We now have news of plenty of additional fugitives on The Hunt! Among them: -Christopher Ponce- The DUI homicide fugitive I referred to earlier in this thread is now official. -Charles Mozdir- An alleged child molester from California who may be in Georgia (sounds like a reverse Marcus Tillman!) -AMW fugitive and USMS top 15-er Frederick "Rick" McLean will be aired once more. -John and Julianne Dimitrion- The con artist couple from Hawaii previously featured on the debut episode of "American Greed: The Fugitives" will get a profile on The Hunt as well. -Thayne Smika- Smika is wanted for the 1983 cold case murder of Sid Wells in Colorado. Wells was the boyfriend of Robert Redford's daughter. Smika was not officially charged until 2010. -Guillermo Madrigal Ballesteros- wanted in an illegal smuggling operation that led to the deaths of 11 people in an Iowa rail car in 2002. I like the case selections so far. A lot of variety!

I remember Guillermo Madrigal Ballesteros since he was once on ICE's 10 Most Wanted List and didn't expect him to be on The Hunt, certainly not complaining though! I also personally felt it was likely that the Dimitrion's would be aired.

Walsh, who hosted “America’s Most Wanted” for 25 years, begins his run as host of “The Hunt with John Walsh” on CNN. CNN says “The Hunt” will “expose stories of ongoing criminal investigations of fugitives, expand the search internationally, and employ the documentary, visual style” of the production company behind CNN’s other weekly docu-series “Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown.” TVNewser will bring you more details of the show following a lunch event with Walsh next week. Walsh will soon be joined by Lisa Ling and Mike Rowe as hosts of upcoming weekly series. As much as I love that my suggestion- Shane Miller- is the debut fugitive- it concerns me that the episode is titled "Shane Miller." Is the entire episode only him? It seems like they've already previewed too many fugitives for that to be possible- but I'm wondering if maybe it's an hour focus on one-case while they just show short blurbs on other cases.
Miller is the perfect choice for the first guy though.

As much as Miller is the perfect choice for the first aired case (he would also be as good of a first direct capture as David James Robert and Alan Eugene White), I'm unsure how they could focus an entire episode on his case. There just isn't nearly that much to talk about in my opinion (ex. they could only spend half an hour talking about Jason Derek Brown when he was added to the FBI MW List, and most of that was about his lifestyle and character quirks). But we'll have to see what they end up doing (as we have no idea as to how the episodes will be formatted).

I'm hoping it will be as close to AMW as possible content-wise. I also want to see a toll free number and website to send-in tips (and hopefully a capture counter too!), and haven't seen that yet either.

If they don't do a capture counter for whatever reason, we can just do a forum list thread for all The Hunt captures. But I'm also curious as to how they're going to receive viewer tips.

The episode will certainly be interesting. I'm glad it's not the premiere episode so we have a better chance of getting a direct capture from the first two episodes.

Personally, I'm not surprised that CNN is only doing an eight-episode trial run to start things off with. PakMan mentioned on the old forums that AMW getting pretty much a yearly run each year is almost unheard of in television. Like other successful true crime shows on say Investigation Discovery, I'm sure that they'll do multi-episode runs at different times throughout the year, assuming the show is successful. If it is successful, I imagine they'll take an airing break to film new episodes and prepare for new cases to be on the show.

I'm looking and Zero Point Zero's other show "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown" is also an 8-episode a season series. However, the second season aired right after the first (probably because it was a surprise hit). Hopefully, something similar happens here. They're not going to catch too many criminals with only 8 or even 16-episode seasons. AMW caught so many because it aired a lot of episodes. Even on Lifetime their season was 43 overall episodes. Let's hope there are very short between season breaks if this is really only 8-episodes a season.

But as I said, if AMW had remained on Lifetime, it likely would have turned into a basic cable show that would have between-season breaks off air as opposed to year-round on Fox. No big deal, as when the show was on, they had marathons and reruns before and after the 9 PM new episodes. This isn't even as many as Lifetime. But I guess unlike Lifetime they can air repeats in-between seasons.
