Just a few hours away. It's funny MTV has their music awards tonight at 9 PM. It's funny since I remember how much I used to care as a youth. Now it's funny how John Walsh is on the same night and how unimportant they now seem to me. Plus MTV no longer plays music videos. John Walsh still catches bad guys! Screw the VMA's and #jointhehunt tonight everyone! Anyone reading this please use the #jointhehunt hashtag so we can get these fugitives trending and get The Hunt's second direct capture!

My father and I are just waiting for the Barnard story to be over, it seems like they'll give the Kelley's around seven minutes. I have a lot of things to complain about regarding the way they did the Barnard story.

What the heck? Did they decide not to air Genevieve and Scott Kelley? Even the episode guide said they'd be aired. Will the season finale be three cases now or did for some reason the case get cut?
It seems we've been on opposite ends regarding the Ballesteros episode and the Barnard episode as I actually enjoyed it more than the Ballesteros episode. Although I was a little disappointed as is the problem with The Hunt this season- too much explaining and set-up. I noticed this with the Ballesteros episode too. They had three different guys saying "Someone was responsible for those 11" deaths- I agree, but it only needed to be said once.
I do think they did a good job of exposing Barnard for what he is and they did him justice. My main complaint isn't the Barnard episode which I thought was pretty good- but that Genevieve and Scott Kelley seemed to be booted off the episode.

And time for my review. As I'm sure we all can agree, they could have easily spent half an hour on the Victor Barnard story, they were doing more of a movie script and less of the story. They were just revisiting the same content over and over again and my father and I got extremely bored. However where we both laughed was when they did a news clip from Nancy Grace's show where she went "Bombshell tonight!", and since we both hate Nancy Grace we were like "This episode just got even worse".
And of course they forgot all about Genevieve and Scott Kelley which was really nothing more than false advertising. I think we can all agree that this will be the worst episode of Season #1. The only bright spot in this is Victor Barnard will probably be easy to find.

I completely forgot to make the Nancy Grace comment. Actually, I was going to disagree with you about this being the worst episode but I changed my mind about the episode now as even if Barnard was the best segment ever produced by AMW or The Hunt, simply showing Nancy Grace's face makes it the worst episode of the season LOL But hey he's still a former forum exclusive fugitive and in my opinion one of the worst child molesters John Walsh has ever went after. So I really hope he's caught. I can still be a proud Papa a case we brought to light as well eventually resulted in a national crime show capture.

A reminder that this weekend is the SEASON and not SERIES finale of The Hunt. I mentioned this in the dumb comments on Facebook off-topic thread because of my fear of people not being able to tell the difference. While no official word has been made yet, a source of mine who has worked for AMW and now The Hunt (pakman and HeadMarshal can back me up that I actually have a source ) feels they did well overall and the show has a good chance at renewal. Take it for what it's worth, but it has me cautiously optimistic. The ratings by cable news standards have been pretty good. In my opinion, it's the fact that so far they have only captured one fugitive- albeit in a literally explosive way that's the problem. Hope they figure out a way to add more fugitives or try to increase the odds of a capture should we hopefully see a season 2.

Now Genevieve Kelly has a full profile on The Hunt's website. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be the Dimitrions and not the Kelleys that get cut out of season 1 now but that's all I have is a suspicion. Obviously if I had to choose, I'd prefer the Kelleys since a missing child is involved, but it's a shame if one of the other get cut out of season 1.

I should add there is also always the possibility all three cases will be on the finale even though Walsh said 2 cases at the most. It would be interesting to see a Hunt show with three cases and see if it flows well.

Once Season #1 finishes this Sunday, I'll also do an overall review of the first season.

On the old amw.com forums I did a 1st season on Lifetime awards thread where I gave my winners for stuff like best capture, best John Walsh quote, best and worst re-enactment etc. I might or might not be able to do that here because of the limited cases and results. For example, Charles Mozdir is their best capture because he's their only capture. LOL! I'll see what I can do.

The CNN website was just edited where they previously mentioned that the series finale was being aired on Sunday, now it's the season finale.

Yikes! Major type-o lol. I'd still like to know what the second case- if there is a second case om Sunday's show- will be though.
