Yes I think so. It makes me think how he got caught all of a sudden. I would have thought he would have stayed on the run but even the intelligent fugitives can get caught since this guy had a great knowledge of computers I am surprised he got caught but mexico seems to be a very popular place for fugitives.

Thing is, that is fully admissible in court. His attorney may be begging for a deal now.

There probably won't be any updates until trial time.

Do you know when the trial is.

No but I'm sure it will be in the news. Trials always get delayed and never start when they're supposed to start usually. So it could be quick but could also be a year or two (or even more in some cases) before we see a final result.

This happened back in 2000, before TCAP and before cops started posing as children online, before people were even aware there was an online threat, so this was something that Brovold and other predators could easily do and get away with.
Also, an article from 2005 mentioned that if Brovold had stayed put and faced, he would have only gotten a light sentence. I don’t see why someone would view that as justification for becoming a fugitive (there is no real justification for going on the run, I’m speaking from a logical standpoint). Now he’s probably going to get a harsher sentence for failure to appear and attempted bribery.

Kinda sad this happened, but I’m happy that he’s still in jail facing other charges. I’m willing to bet that he’s going to play the “old man” card in court for leniency, but he needs to spend some time in jail because he manipulated and stole a 14 year old girl’s innocence. Plus, the fact that he tried to bribe her shows his arrogance, narcissism, and lack of remorse. He hasn’t changed at all.

It's disappointing but sometimes unfortunately being on the run a long time is rewarded as the evidence sits and gets older. We can only hope there's some karma. What sucks most though is if not convicted of any sexual related crimes I don't think Brovold can even be on the registry.

My theory why the sex charge was dropped: the victim may not have wanted to go through with a trial. That may be why the prosecutor is tight-lipped as to why she won’t prosecute him on that charge.
