William Greer is expected to be named to the US Marshals Top 15 Most Wanted list tomorrow. I don't see anything on their website yet but apparently the announcement will be made tomorrow. Once it's official, I will move him to the USMS Top 15 section. This is a bit of a shock to me since this case is now over nine years old and they tend to usually add more recent fugitives, but I still think this is an excellent addition (if he is officially added). AMW nearly caught Greer multiple times, so more heat on Greer will be great. We all expected Greer to be aired on season 2 of The Hunt, so I feel this is a sign he will almost definitely be on season 3 (or 2B or whatever it will be called). (P.S. Even if they catch Greer before season 3, Tammy Esquivel is still missing. So unless Greer is caught, confesses and shows police where her body is, unlike other captured fugitives, there will still be an angle for The Hunt to go with even if Greer is captured before airing and that's to finally find Tammy.) www.chron.com/news/article/Murder-fugitive-William-Joseph-Greer-added-to-6757126.php

With William Greer back in the media spotlight with his addition to the USMS 15 MW List, I was trying to brainstorm theories as to why after 2008, we haven't gotten any decent leads about him. AMW tracked him to New Orleans in 2007 and then to Kentucky in 2008. Did he settle down somewhere where no one is aware of his fugitive status? I kinda doubt he fled the US since he could have done that initially but never did. The best news is that the USMS MW List is being updated again which is always a good thing since the USMS are excellent at finding all sorts of fugitives.

Just looking into his eyes I think that he has been bobbing Baked Beans in the country this entire time. I hope that this is the beginning of the end.

I'm kind of baffled as to why they're only now adding him to the Top 15 list. Logically, it would have made more sense to add him in 2008 or 2009. Heck, even 2010 would have made sense!
At any rate, I'm glad to see he's finally been added. I think he's a perfect addition to the list and hopefully it'll bring about his capture sooner rather than later.

Oh wow, we have a pakman posting again. I as mentioned am surprised as well. I think of those of the list, Larry Porter Chism was added in 1988, ten years after his escape. And Raymond Aboott was added 8 years after his. So it seems Greer with 9 years going on 10 nears the record. The way I feel, there was six open slots on the list, so it was good to see anybody added, and when you have so many open slots, it gives more of an opportunity to take a risk and add a guy whose been on the run for nearly a decade. (The Marshals can be a little more daring overall, since they now have five slots left open as well, while the FBI had to remove one to make room for a newer fugitive with only ten to work with and a lot of long-timers still not caught (I still have faith in the FBI's ability to catch them though). So yeah, his addition surprised me as well but I am glad he was added.

Given how close he came to being caught several times already, I'm shocked that he hasn't been found yet. Hopefully with him being on this list he will be found.

Figured I should post the CNN article here even though I also did it in the general Season 3 thread for The Hunt. As we all know by now, William Greer will be the debut fugitive when the new season starts this Sunday at 9 PM ET/PT. As I said in the other thread, I think this was a pretty smart decision. William Greer escaped justice twice because he saw he was on AMW and fled. I feel John Walsh's strategy this time is there's no way he's going to be able to catch Greer by surprise, so he's just going to put the pressure on him by making him the debut case on a show that will now also be simulcast on HLN, with worldwide CNN articles to boot- and that will hopefully make him contemplate a surrender. This is show will be rerun constantly and also eventually on Netflix where of course over there there's no time table or no way of knowing when someone will see his face. This isn't AMW where it was a one airing and then done until the next update. So if Greer ever comes across this site, I hope he knows that. Since the last we heard of him he was going to bible studies, perhaps he might want to think if truly wants to seek repentance, the first step is turning himself in. www.cnn.com/2016/06/16/us/the-hunt-with-john-walsh-william-greer-tammy-esquivel/index.html

Forgot to mention William Greer will be stickied until next week's episode. (Off-topic but I'll probably keep all fugitives stickied and it's a matter of who is most recent will be on top until a week after the season finale).

Just a heads up that Crime Watch Daily will do a segment on William Greer on tomorrow's episode (Thursday, October 20th). Please check your local listings as it's a syndicated crime show.
This also marks the first technical fugitive that Chris Hansen has profiled as the show's new host.

Crime Watch Daily's segment on Greer is now on their website. Former America's Most Wanted correspondent Michelle Sigona, who is now with Crime Watch Daily, was the reporter for this segment as well, she mentions AMW and how she's been chasing Greer for over a decade. She reunites with Tammy's son and daughter and interviews them again. While out on the hunt with U.S. Marshals in Kentucky, they get a very promising lead from a man who says he knows a man fitting Greer's description named Bill who has a missing toe. But when the Marshals go to the house in question, it turns out to just be an elderly couple who have no idea who Greer is and don't recognize the man in the photos they show him. So the promising lead turns out to be a bust and obviously Greer is still wanted with a $25,000 reward. crimewatchdaily.com/2016/10/20/ride-along-with-u-s-marshals-on-the-hunt-for-fugitive-murder-suspect-william-greer/
