Ironically that makes two captured fugitives from the FBI top ten list in the past few years to die while awaiting trial (Jesus Munguia being the other). Good riddance to both of them.

Wow, good riddance, I remember seeing his segment on AMW back in the late 2000s and wondering if he was ever gonna get caught, fast forward to early 2023 and now he's dead. I remember being very optimistic back when he was added to the list.

Another irony is that, not only do Munguia and Juarez-Corro share that fact that they were both picked up in Mexico after a decade + on the run, but since 2018 they are the only 2 captures that resulted from public tips.

An officer has now been charged with misconduct in relation to Juarez-Corro's death. The gist of it appears to be she allegedly skipped his cell and at least two others during checks. I certainly am still not shedding a tear over Juarez-Corro's death, but at the same time two wrongs don't make a right and it is still an officer's duty to check on cell mates. www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/correctional-officer-charged-in-connection-to-inmate-death

As you said, 2 wrongs don’t make a right and this move by the corrections officer really didn’t help at all, depriving victims families to have the chance at being able to face Octaviano Juarez-Corro and tell him the monster he was at what he did.

I agree with others here.
I won't shed tears for Juarez-Corro's death but as others have said, the families of the victims had a right to their day in court and the neglect of the people in charge of ensuring he and others stayed safe so he could face trial dropped the ball and ensured that wouldn't happen.
At least the families of the people he killed can take comfort in the fact he died behind bars and not a free man.

I’m actually somewhat surprised at his suicide. If memory serves, he wasn’t listed as a suicide risk on his poster.
