So i rewatched the press conference again and it turns out the reason they added Juarez-Corro is because investigators had gotten some new information recently, but added him to seek the public’s assistance in locating him (with the new information on hand).

I really like the FBI's decision here. We don't know what the new information is, but it's clearly significant enough that they believe the public can lead to Octaviano's arrest. As Maddog referenced, I was not previously aware that the shootings were done execution style. I have wanted this case to get the proper publicity it needed for a long time, and I feel that we may finally see Octaviano's arrest in the near future.

There was an extraordinarily high level of violence in this case. The fact that he allegedly told several of the victims to get on their knees before shooting, and shot five people in front of numerous children shows just how dangerous he is. Especially when this was over a trivial custody dispute. If the information is correct that they have developed new info on his whereabouts, it is the perfect time to add him to the list. I fully agree with adding him.

Haha it's ok I'm on day shift now and I still woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back asleep- apparently my mind was telling me that something big happened with a fugitive on the forum lol.
But yeah to expand more, for those who don't know, Zapopan is next to Guadalajara in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The article seems to imply Juarez-Corro hasn't been extradited yet, but the capture just happened, so hopefully soon.

Despite Juarez-Corro being a Mexican national, the FBI did aid Mexican authorities in capturing him. This capture feels reminiscent of Jesus Munguia who was also captured in February, 4 years ago. As for extradition, it seems they got right to it with putting in the proper paperwork to get the ball rolling on that asap. There he is after nearly 16 years on the run.

Excellent news! I have been waiting for this arrest for awhile now and I'm glad this manhunt is finally over! The extradition could take a few months as we've seen in other cases, but hopefully Octaviano will be back in Wisconsin soon.

The FBI finally updated the website and it’s FAQs section to reflect the capture and it states he was captured due to someone recognizing him from the FBI website… only the 4th fugitive to be caught in this way, and ironically the second from the FBI Milwaukee as Terry Strickland was captured the same way.

I know I sound like rubbing it in but this has been my main complaint about the list lately is they keep adding war operation "movie-villain" type fugitives where even though they are catchable- I feel they are more likely to be caught via intelligence operations than the list itself- which is mainly used for publicity. As we can see here a domestic fugitive, not a drug kingpin or gang leader as awful as they may be, was caught relatively quickly because he was more appropriate for the list.

I read the FBI’s Facebook page and the special agent in charge used the word “closure” when talking about Octaviano’s capture.
We’ve mentioned this here and Project: Cold Case has talked about it a lot, but the word “closure” is a very controversial word when cases are resolved. Even when a suspect is arrested and convicted, the family doesn’t get their loved one back. They still have to deal with the pain of their loss every day.
I hope that the FBI in the future doesn’t use that word.

This guy was high up on my most wanted leftover fugitives of '006 list. Only Fred "Highway" Alba Wert and Manuel Virgen Galvan remain from my top 10 of that year. It was a pleasant surprise when the FBI added this underrated case to their Ten Most Wanted, and several times more pleasant of a surprise that an FBI.gov visitor busted him after less than a half year on it.

IMO, this guy was a much better use of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted then some other fugitives they've put on their recently. Go with folks you can capture using media attention and not people that are foreign criminals that you'll never be able to catch.

This is what I've been saying ad nausem on the forum especially in the general discussion section for like the past year if you take a look lol. I'm glad someone finally agrees with me, and we see the results speak for themselves as well.
