It is absolutely scary how many parallels there were to the Maghfor Mansoor case:
- Committed a sexual assault in a Western State. - Led Police on a car chase. - Wound up in an Eastern State. - Shot and killed by federal agents in a hotel.

Also they found the stolen Hyundai from his FBI poster which is what lead them to the hotel in Apex, North Carolina. The vehicle was towed hours later as you can see from the video youtu.be/OLEP3NI3_-c

FYI: the FBI on their site did add Carlson to the list of Top Tenners who were captured or located. That hasn’t always happened (I.e. Adam Mayes - who was cornered by police and then shot himself).

We alluded to Adam Mayes and how despite the history of dangerous suspects on the top ten list, this is surprisingly the first time in 7 years we've had a fugitive *currently* on the list wind up deceased (any of the other nine could also possibly be deceased already, but there would be no way of knowing that at the moment). I did not know that Adam Mayes was not recognized on the site however and that is surprising.

Didn’t expect things to end this way but I can’t say I’m surprised that he wasn’t taken alive

In this case, as opposed to Mayes, it was the good guys, so I believe they will chalk that up as a located fugitive.

I glad and receive that this creep is off the streets for good, I hope other FBI Top Tenners, Said, Stepenson, Fisher, Brown, Flores are next.

On one hand,I would have liked to see this guy be found guilty for his crimes and for him to wake up in prison every day knowing he didn't get away with it. In the same breath, the LEOs did what they had to do and there is some measure of justice for the victims in that he didn't get away with his crimes and that he can't hurt anyone else. I hope this gives them some measure of piece.

My only problem with his being deceased is the possibility of solving other crimes had he been captured alive.
Otherwise, good riddance.

I felt that way when Elaine Parent(AMW capture 702) killed herself. As it stands now,the murder of Beverly McGowan, which she is suspected of committing is unsolved and who knows what other murders she may have committed? Same with Greg Carlson. I have no doubt there are other crimes he's committed but we'll never know for sure.

It’s been 2 years since Greg Carlson was killed, while I tried to find an obituary or what happened to Carlson’s remains, the only info I found was what happened to the Hyundai he stole using a license plate and vin lookup website.
It was sold at a dealership for $12,600 with only 15,373 miles on the odometer

Except for historical refrence reasons the next time a fugitive on the list dies, I'd rather not give this monster any more attention, but that is interesting about the car though lol.

Actually I take that back somewhat as I still feel he may have more victims.
I pretty much felt the manhunt would end the way it did, but I was still disappointed- not because he was dead- but because it possibly put an end to other cases being closed.
