I was reading about the top Tenners in the 1990s and Urbina and former ten most wanted and serial killer Angel Maturino Resendiz or aka Rafael Resendez-Ramirez who was the 457th fugitive to be added back in 1999 have some similarities in the fact that they sexually assaulted their victims but I have to say Resendiz was more brutal when it came to murdering.
But it also shows what a potential scary side to Fidel Urbina would look like if he in fact has more victims and if he escalated in his methods of murdering.
Now I'm divided as to him being a potential serial killer. In a way he does have the characteristics of one if you see what he did his first sexual assault and murder in 1998 and from there he possibly kept taking more victims as you guys mentioned with the Juarez Femicide earlier in the thread, or perhaps he quit going for woman since he may not be involved in assaulting woman anymore, but he's likely involved with criminal organizations or resorted to heavy drug use and burglaries to get by making it his new obsession.
There is just so many unanswered questions and this guy may be laying low or could be out there in the streets of Mexico as another Resendiz.

As we can see from the mugshots, Urbina wasn't staying out of the trouble, and was obviously doing something or somethings illegal this past decade or so, but unfortunately we don't know what those illegal activities were. I really hope The Hunt can do a profile on him this summer, or at least the FBI can give an update explaining the new clues, so we know what happened.

Or like I've said before maybe them not telling us anything could be that they have intelligence on him but are waiting for the perfect moment to arrest him.
He is very deserving for The Hunt, I feel since its airs in Mexico it'd be very fitting.
The show could flush him out, maybe immediately or a few months after.
Now Paul Jackson a long time fugitive who was caught thankfully because of The Hunt, was accused of a similar crime, so I have confidence the show will work in order to nab Urbina.

Urbina's thread has been all lonely at the bottom and decided to make a post.
He's already been on the list 4 years now and when you look at the statistics of the list, many fugitives are caught within 5 years.
My hope is that he's going to run out of luck by getting in trouble again, is recognized by someone who's seen him, even a law enforcement officer who has suspicion about him or the FBI having intelligence on him.
As what happened to Jorge Lopez Orozco and Emigdio Preciado, so I'm confident Urbina will be taken in.

Interesting choice of words to describe your happiness but I'm in agreement with the happiness at the capture though lol.
There were signs the FBI was onto him recently considering the new arrest photos and the fact that the Hunt seemed to choose to profile Luis Macedo but not him.
This capture also gives room for the FBI to be a little more creative with their next addition(s) as if there was only one slot open it would have to be reserved for a recent case but now you possibly can take a chance with one of the two slots.
Also important now is figuring out whether Urbina is responsible for any other sex crimes and getting those victims justice as well.

Of course the first thing is to talk to him if he's responsible for more... but the fact that he was captured in a remote area leads me to think he was living a nomadic lifestyle like Ed Harper.
Now I knew the authorities were either watching him or had intelligence on him for some time now and it had to be that, also this capture will make things simpler for the FBI as they can take one pre 2015 off the list but as to who may replace Urbina well I haven't thought that far ahead yet.... maybe Ranger Lacy or Bhadreshkumar Patel

Also I guess I got what I wanted for my Halloween wishlist early lol Now I found a Spanish article that says they had been onto Urbina for about a year now before the capture www.noticiasmvs.com/#!/noticias/pgr-detiene-a-fidel-urbina-uno-de-los-10-mas-buscados-por-el-fbi-621

Wow hard to believe it's actually him tbh. Like he hasn't changed much from 2011. Also this confirms he is in custody and not a hoax or a dodged arrest, his days are officially over. P.S. In this photo what Urbina must be thinking is... What's gonna happen to me now LOL

And down goes my #3 most wanted AMW Fugitive of '010.
I want to know as much as everyone else here what role he played in the Juarez Serial Femicides. After that crime wave in Ciudad Juarez started in 1993, 77 victims were dead by 1999. It's been about 17 years since '999, and assuming the same frequency of murders, I'd estimate the killer or killers have killed or collectively killed about 300 victims in total. If we're really lucky, perhaps Urbina might rat out some of the other killers in that case.
Pat Quinn has long since shut down Illinois' death row, so I think they're going to give Urbina a one-way ticket to the deepest, darkest, tightest-security prison they can. I hope he suffers as greatly every day as he inflicted that day back in the autumn of '998.

As of this morning (6:24am EDT) the FBI hasn't listed him as captured yet.
Also now that this capture happened it brings a lot of questions to the table, now I really want to know what he was doing from when he fled in 1998 till his arrest in 2011.
I can pretty much figure out through speculation, that after his 2011 arrest and his 2012 addition to the top ten list, he decided to move to a more remote area as he realized his world just got even smaller, which means he could have been working in something in the manual labor part (likely farming), as his shirt seems to be kinda dirty if you look closely at the mug shot of him.

Give them time, the news happened outside of normal business hours.
Also technically this begins the extradition process and sometimes the FBI considers fugitives technically not captured until officially in American custody. Urbina's should be a mere formality, although the worst of the judicial and bureaucratic systems have been a main reason why it took 18 years to finally arrest him.*
(*- was technically arrested twice but not yet known as Fidel Urbina).

Wow this is phenomenal news! We haven't had a top ten fugitive on the run for 18 years or longer that was caught in a very long time. Back on the days of the old amw fox.com forums, Fidel Urbina was my personal Public Enemy #1 so I am extremely happy right now. There are probably several dozen questions the FBI will have for Fidel Urbina as to what he has been up to for the past 18 years when they get a chance to grill him. I am eagerly awaiting for a press release by the FBI.
