^ Vicky's mother Linda, who was still living at the time of Burns' capture in 2010, passed away in 2014. I was able to find her obituary to confirm this. I remember AMW cameras were on hand to get her reaction to Burns' arrest, and I'll never forget the first thing she said - "Oh, I was hoping he was dead." I can't blame her. She had to live with the horrors of hearing her daughter be killed every day and the trial no doubt dredged all of that up even more. I hope she was able to find some peace with him being put in prison and while she didn't outlive him, the rest of Vicky's loved ones can take comfort in knowing that he died behind bars and never got to see freedom again.

AMW Capture #1124 Larry Burns, who was caught in July of 2010 more then 24 years after the 1986 murder of his ex wife Vicki due to a tip from AMW.COM was eligible for release from prison in December of 2022 despite a sentence of over 70 years because of the gain laws in Indiana at the time he committed the crime.
However prison records show he died (not sure when) before that could happen.
This is another case that shows that justice can be delayed but it can't be denied.
It's not fair that Burns got to live a life of freedom for 24 years after he killed Vicki but in the end, he got caught and died behind bars so he didn't get away with it.
That is justice in my eyes.

I agree it was way too low but perhaps the case wasn't as solid as we thought and this was the best they could do with it. Here's hoping the other charges he is facing will add more time.

No idea extradition usually takes at least a few months so we should be patient. I don't expect him back until the summer at least.

According to this article it states that the indictment was issued in January of 2017 and was unsealed on the day RCQ was added, in addition to that it also says, ever since the extradition of El Chapo Guzmán in 2017, there has been infighting within the faction lead by Damaso Lopez Nunez since he wanted to make a bid for the leadership, but calmed afterwards to insure stability. In the event that Rafael Caro-Quintero, now the most sought after cartel leader in the world (even El Chapo didn’t get to the level RCQ is currently), is captured or killed, this could destabilize the Sinaloa cartel, and also sadly add further violence in Mexico. worldview.stratfor.com/article/20-million-reward-cartel-leader-mexico-hiding-dea-camarena-caro-quintero-narcoUnfortunately I feel this was spot on. Sad to say but when the head of a major drug ring goes down, the only question is how bad the violence will be during the fight over his replacement. Too bad so many in Mexico have to pay the price for that.

I will say though one thing that's always stuck with me is I think I remember during the AMW reports how even the Marshals who arrested her after her escape said they were afraid of her because of how intelligent and deceptively charming she can be. Even the Marshals! At the same time, sorry to sound like a broken record, but both statements can be true- Sarah Pender can be a dangerously manipulative person but also not guilty of murder at the same time. (Well not completely innocent but overcharged and should have served her time already for her role at the same time). I will say all along she has been her own worst enemy in this though, and that her lack of seeming not to care about the people killed in the original crime or hurt in her escape plan has hurt her. Still, the justice system is supposed to convict people on crimes they've committed, not how much of a jerk/horrible person they are. There is more then enough evidence to prove she deserves a new trial. I hope she will finally get one.

Sounds like he may have become obsessed with a couple of the girls who lived there and had been stalking them on their social media accounts. Scary stuff.

The media keeps running with bad updates which irks me. If a bunch of people on a website can figure out he's still in jail, why can't they?

I was just there a couple of weeks ago. A really fun place to be so I can understand why good and bad guys alike go there.

Here's hoping he's back on U.S. soil in short order.

Type his name in on google news and it links to articles still listing him as having escaped so it looks like there will be a few more days of confusion over this.

Glad to see he's still in custody but you would think this would make the U.S. want to speed up his extradition even more.

He might have known but figured finding him would be a needle in a haystack but thankfully it wasn't. I do love the karma that this d-bag that tricked girls into being unwitting porn stars was subject to basically a mini documentary of his arrest that he didn't consent to. How do you like being the star yourself, prick? I agree with you. I think he knew he was on the list but figured police would never be able to catch him. Glad to see he was proven wrong.

Bittersweet to see a couple of these names because I expected a couple of them like Robert Fisher and Jason Brown to be caught easily and yet they're still out there (thought I suspect Fisher might be dead.)
