I remember this case and how cold blooded the killing was. Glad to see after all this time that justice is finally on it's way to being served, may Rios rot in jail for the rest of his life.

Knowing the Philly DA is opposed to capital punishment, it's likely he'll face LWOP. And even so, Pennyslvania's death row is almost as slow as California's. I can't remember hearing about anyone getting the needle there lately. He'll probably rot for 3 to 5 decades and die of natural causes, in which case I hope it'll be as rough as what he put all the victims through. The only three executions that have occurred in PA all involved killers who dropped their appeals so yea, even if the DP was sought here, the chances of it being carried out are next to nil. Let him rot in prison and be forgotten.

I will never condone murder but I won't be upset if investigators put this case on the backburner either.

Glad he got arrested, wonder if he will face death penalty or jail for life sentence. Knowing the Philly DA is opposed to capital punishment, it's likely he'll face LWOP.

Here's an article. I feel really bad for his daughter- who I stress is a victim in this and shouldn't be criticized in any way- but it seemed she believed he was innocent even after finding out his entire life he was really someone else and a fugitive- and he has now ultimately admitted his guilt. There were mentions of Santini able to fool everybody as a seemingly calm even keleed man who never lost his temper- but there are two types of sociopaths- those prone to violent anger- but also those completely emotionless where killing is no big deal to them- as it seemed to be for Santini. He was hired to be a hit man and apparently confessed to calmly going about it. Reminds me of the movie Collateral- where Tom Cruise is a hit man who just cold bloodedly treats his "job" like it is a regular desk job- he's given tasks and completes them. I am surprised Santini was given a plea deal without being forced to give up who hired him to kill Cynthia Woods, however. www.mysuncoast.com/2023/11/16/man-sentenced-50-years-1984-homicide/While I'm glad justice was done I agree with you on being surprised that his plea deal didn't include giving up who hired him. Justice can't be truly done here without knowing that.

I wonder if he'll spend the rest of his life in a Pennsylvania prison or if he'll face trial in Brazil honestly he would be in a living hell either way so I'm Happy either way I wonder what you guys think I'd rather do time in a U.S. prison versus one in South America any day.

I fear this is a case that could end in the deaths of innocent people.
I hope I'm wrong.

Updates on an old AMW Capture.
Daniel Mark Gagliardo Jr., #613 - Once a admired police officer lauded for his work with troubled youth, Gagliardo would go on the run in the 90's after several teenage boys came forward to say he molested them. AMW tips would lead to his capture in CA in 2000. He would be sent back to Texas to serve a 60 year prison sentence but with gain laws at the time, he would only serve 20 before being eligible for parole in October of 2021. However, before his release, the state of TX had a hearing to have him civilly committed to a mental hospital which they won so even though he is out of prison, he still isn't free and likely will never be let out of the hospital's he in.

Turns out Santini had children while on the run and his daughter was interviewed for a story. She expressed shock because she wasn't that well behaved a child yet Santini had never shown any signs of anger of violence. She also wants him to be convicted first before things are said about him. I will give this- Santini is entitled to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law- despite being a fugitive- but he also allegedly confessed to a news station that he committed an unrelated rape. I still do sympathize with finding out your father was an alleged hitman and murderer on the run from the FBI, that is a pretty crazy thing to find out and process. www.courttv.com/news/daughter-of-americas-most-wanted-cold-case-suspect-speaks-out/I feel sorry for her. The past few weeks must have been hell for her. I agree, can't be easy to find out someone you care about is a monster.

I also wanted to mention he's apparently been charged with three of the murders and is a suspect in the fourth. I am only placing this case in the captures section because he seems to be the overall "main" LISK that was being sought, but there may be other killers in the other LI cases out there. That's the scary part to me. He's likely responsible for some of the murders but not all of them.

Sad to say but given the fact he has already shown since his escape that he is willing to engage in violence to avoid detection (the killing of the dog) and that he has a gun, I fear that unless he's taken by surprise this isn't going to end well.
