Understandable but I believe the 1991 sighting to be the biggest red herring of all of them. It has never been the MO of abductors to have the person you kidnapped tag along with them in public regardless of how or why. Only Nicholas Markowitz comes to mind and he was still murdered. I'm of the opinion that the girl believed to be Anthonette in the 1991 sighting was either a prankster or a distressed/troubled girl if not a completely different adducted girl altogether and the waitress just thought that Anthonette fit the best description of said girl.

I’m beginning to think Anthonette was alive up until 1992/1993 and after she was aired on Unsolved Mysteries, not wanting to draw anymore heat in having her and adding attention to themselves, the people who kidnapped her, murdered her. As to where I speculate could’ve been murdered? Well I don’t want to focus on one area or another, but I figure the entire southwestern United States is sadly fair game as to where her remains could be. They also should look at Lake Tahoe, California given its close proximity to Carson City, Nevada. What gives you that indication? Is it the 1987 call or something else? While I do agree it's most likely the people who kidnapped Anthonette killed her, I say she was killed much sooner based on the stats of abductions and logical conclusions based on info of the family. Likely an enemy of her father, a close friend of the family with a dark side or she just crossed paths with serial abductors/killers that scoped the area. All would have motivation to kill her as soon as possible. If she were to survive passed abduction, it's likely because of ransom or trafficking. But the family never indicated ransom, trafficking by kidnapping is rare and being held captive al la Jaycee Dugard is extremely rare. I'm torn on rather she was killed because of attention brought by UM. To be honest I find the 1987 call, the 1991 sighting and Wendy's accounts to be possible red herrings.

oh wow, I remember this case. I have no idea why I never posted it myself but i appreciate you looking out for any we may have missed. To me it sounds like the police may know more than they're letting on. Perhaps Megadeth Man is a red herring. I wish I had examples to back this up but I'm having a brain freeze right now- but I've finally completed all the old UM with Robert Stack episodes on Prime (I realize they're not the same as the actual original) and there were a lot of missing or unsolved murder cases where they'd focus on this particular guy last person seen in same place or vicinity or whatever- and then you'd see an update where DNA advancements reveal it was a complete stranger unknown to police that wasn't the potential witness/suspect. (Or I'm blanking again and this might not be the best example- but I remember one case where the bartender thought a missing woman was the woman from unsolved mysteries and told her to go to home to her family- it turned out the missing woman was already dead and murdered). So yeah I can see where the investigation turns up a new angle never before discussed in this case. Deborah Poe's case was included in the edited Filmrise version of the Stack era series. However I do intend to post any segment that haven't been posted here yet, regardless. I consider Megadeth Man a red herring because if the person who abducted Poe did so without much struggle what could he be doing back at the store for especially if nothing was supposedly taken. As far as examples you are look for, one that is the top of my head is Tina Jefferson.

Deborah Poe vanished on February 4, 1990, during the graveyard shift at the convenience store where she worked. Unsolved Mysteries aired this case in 1991. From the Charley Project: Missing Since: 02/04/1990 Missing From: Orlando, Florida Classification: Endangered Missing Sex: Female Race: White Date of Birth: 08/03/1963 (57) Age: 26 years old Height and Weight: 5'2 - 5'3, 100 pounds Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Blonde hair, blue eyes. Poe's hair was streaked at the time of her disappearance, she wore minimal makeup and her ears are triple-pierced. She has a burn scar on her left shoulder. Some agencies may spell her middle name "Deanna." Poe's eye color may be listed as hazel and her year of birth may be listed as 1964. Details of Disappearance Poe had two full-time jobs in 1990, one in the retail sales department at the Orlando Sentinel and one at the Circle K convenience store (now a Citgo store) near Hall Road and Aloma Avenue in Orlando, Florida. She worked the night shift alone, five nights a week, at the time of her February 4, 1990 disappearance. Poe's boyfriend, Scott Iaggi, said men, some of them drunk, frequently bothered her while she was working the night shift at the Circle K, and he'd been concerned for her safety. A naked man came into the store about two weeks before her disappearance and climbed over the counter to get to her. He chased her around the store a few times and she ran outside, and he followed her, then she went back inside and was able to lock him out. Iaggi had begun staying with her during the night shifts to help keep her safe. He last saw her in the store at 1:00 a.m. the night of her disappearance, when he came by to check on her. She was fine at the time. A friend who drove by the store at 3:00 a.m. saw her standing behind the counter. Between 3:15 and 3:30 a.m., a customer came into the store and saw a Caucasian man behind the counter. He was between 19 and 25 years old, had long black hair and dark eyes, and was wearing a black t-shirt with the Megadeth rock band logo and a dragon spitting fire, a skull ring on his finger, and a wire earring with a cross in his right ear. He apparently drove a black van with a Megadeth mural airbrushed on the side of it. He appeared to be the only person in the store and the customer assumed he was the clerk. She wanted some cigarettes, and had to point them out to the man because he did not know where they were. He said, "You shouldn't smoke ya'know," then used the cash register and made change when the customer made her purchase. This man has never been identified and it's possible he was just another customer, but investigators would like to question him and find out what he knows about Poe's case. A sketch of the individual is posted with this case summary. Poe's store was discovered unoccupied at 4:00 a.m., when a regular customer found it unattended and called police. A cup of coffee and a carton of chocolate milk were on top of a stack of house plans on the floor behind the counter, and Poe's Circle K smock was also behind the counter, neatly folded. Her car was undisturbed in the parking lot with her purse in the backseat. Her paycheck and car keys were also inside it. There was no sign of a struggle at the scene, the cash register was locked and there no evidence of a robbery. It appeared as if the store had simply been abandoned. Tracker dogs traced Poe's scent to the rear of the store, over a wooden fence and to a road, where they lost the trail, which suggests she got into a vehicle. She has never been heard from again. Investigators believe she was forcibly abducted from the store. Authorities said that they had a suspect in Poe's disappearance in March 2002, but refused to publicly identify the individual. Investigators searched an area of land near the Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Orange County around the same time. Authorities stated that a re-examination of the evidence in Poe's case led them to the suspect and to the area. It is not known if any material was uncovered during the process. Curiously, Chapel Hill Baptist Church is right across the street from Iaggi's former residence, and Iaggi had once been a pastor at the church. He has not been identified as a suspect in Poe's case, and passed a polygraph test about her disappearance. He now lives in Kentucky. The police were never able to locate the naked man who chased Poe around the Circle K two weeks before her disappearance. Thoughts? There are quite a few persons of interests and speculation regarding this case which includes Poe's boyfriend at the time (some sources including UM lists him as just a friend). Though I consider the Megadeth Man a red herring. You know I watched the Unsolved Mysteries episode on Cayedito’s vanishing and Penny, Anthonette’s mother didn’t look that old in her interview with them she was 39 which was circa 1992. Then again it would be 7 short years, Penny living a very harsh lifestyle and passed away in 1999 at the age of 46. Anyways the sole theory I have is that her remains were dumped somewhere in the desert or she was buried out in a remote part of the desert that is clear no mans land and I’ll go as far as to speculate that whoever took Anthonette buried her in neighboring Arizona as McKinley County, New Mexico (where Gallup is located) borders Arizona and to be exact, Apache County, AZ. Granted they could’ve buried her in NM, but I feel if these individuals wanted to throw off authorities as to who they were and to cover their tracks. Thanks to everyone I’ve kinda changed my theory if she were alive and I now think Anthonette Cayedito was alive up until 1992 or 1993 maybe as late as 1996, either it was someone else’s doing or she couldn’t bare the pain of being in captivity and took her own life, or the people who took her trafficked her and Anthonette went down a very dark path (drugs alcohol, murdered,) Based on the stats on people who are abducted, I'm not optimistic that she survived even up to 1987. I however am open to the possibility that if she did survive after being abducted, she would likely have went a dark path.

I'm actually more pessimistic that in although I wish for AMW to succeed, big media companies, including FOX have a poor track record in this area. Plus, similar to my comments on The Hunt, the environment that AMW once thrived on is not the same or is gone now. But we'll see.

Unfortunately tvfanatic.com says 2.2 million wasn't that good in comparison to other shows on other networks that night and only had an 0.3 rating in 18-49 demographic (the one used for advertisers). I'm not saying this to be negative but to urge us to spread the word since it's actually a good revival and deserves more eyeballs. I don't know why people would rather watch a bunch of people sing to be a one-hit wonder or who some rich person they never met will marry and then divorce after a year than catch a criminal but let's get the numbers up! www.tvfanatic.com/2021/03/tv-ratings-the-bachelor-finale-slips-americas-most-wanted-reviva/The viewing tastes of many Americans these days unfortunately. Why I really don't watch TV anymore. Though I do find it odd that they choose to air AMW on a Monday instead of the traditional Saturday night slot. With weekdays, you're bound to compete with the more popular shows.

As I said before, they are the same types of knuckleheads that will complain about any show continuing without iconic hosts. To be honest when I first heard that Elizabeth Vargas was taking over, I didn't know much about her to confidently say she will be a great fit to be Walsh's successor. But due to her background as a reporter taking on true crime and that's she's a fan of the show and an admirer of Walsh made me at least give her a chance and so far she's doing a great job.
Plus let's be honest, there would bound to be a time when Walsh just wants to do other projects or just retire than do AMW forever. Maybe with some shows, they begin and end with an iconic host. But to be so narrow minded is doing shows like AMW a disservice as it aims to help the public as a whole and not tickle someone's fancy over a personality.

I in no way mean this as disrespect to my hero John Walsh or even Callahan now that he's also on In Pursuit, but it seems the one thing we're all in agreement on is Vargas hit out of the park and honored JW's legacy very well! My worry has never been Vargas's ability, but that she could be the Walter Cronkite of true crime and we'd still get stubborn old school AMW viewers still going "No John Walsh I'm not watching" and not tuning in. But on this forum at least, Vargas is a rock star! These are the same types of knuckleheads that will complain about any show continuing without iconic hosts. Just like UM without Stack, it's the Tonight Show without Carlson, The Price is Right without Barker or American Bandstand without Clark. Some replacements have big shoes to fill, some may not be the best fit. But as long as they do a great job for the show to go on, many will be happy.

I'd take the czar's stance on this case. If the cartels hadn't taken him out, then he may have gone legit to lay low. If not that, maybe hiding in plain sight anywhere in Latin America.

I've been meaning to comment on this for the longest. I'm very glad that they brought AMW back. I didn't catch it while it was on TV but I did watch it on YouTube. Elizabeth Vargas does a great job in the context and environment we have now. Even if many of us wish Walsh to take the helm again, with him doing In Pursuit along with AMW returning, the more the merrier. I also appreciate the emphasis on using social media since many here stress AMW should stick to it's purpose, this shouldn't be your dad's AMW anymore.

An interesting development that can help authorities with the case. But since he had her long before his crimes and without knowing of her existence, I don't see, at least face value, how this will help authorities with what happened to Bishop after. I look at it like when they found the biological mother to Joe Sinnott Edwards. They found a direct relative that can corner the fugitive but can only do so much.

Very good to hear. I didn't think this case would ever be solved but hey I'm allowed to be wrong sometimes I edited the thread to give the Sumter County Does their names back but also stress James Freund and Pamela Buckley still need justice. Articles I read are saying to call Crime Stoppers. Probably not completely but there's strong case that Lonnie George Henry was the likely killer (alleged though). And hey, you had doubt they would be identified. So anything can happen.
