Very excited to see the new show! I still have been following this site daily and will definitely be back after the show tonight to address my opinions and hopefully we can all share our thoughts!

Hopefully Pakman provides an episode recap as well! I initially missed it because work ran later than I expected, but it's rerun at 11:30 here, so I'll catch it then

I enjoyed it! I thought the layout was pretty good along with the similarity to AMW, I'm hoping more than one case will be profiled per episode (it will next week with two sex offenders) and overall I thought it was great! What did you guys think?

Okay my father and I really liked how the episode was done. Nothing was over dramatized and surprisingly, despite it being an hour long case feature, not much of it (if anything) seemed like unneeded filler. However, this episode leading to Miller's capture would make it perfect. I feel like I'm really going to enjoy The Hunt.

I completely agree, Miller needs to be caught, he almost reminds of the Robert Fisher cause in the fact that he killed his family and is almost like a survivalist. He needs to be taken off the streets and I also think the series is going to be great, I will definitely stay more updated with this forum now that there is an active show taking place

Gonna do a mini-review I'll let Pakman do a segment-segment breakdown if he wishes. The opening segment where John Walsh talks about how he learned to do one thing really well catch bastards and bring them to justice was awesome! So as far that's concerned, it started awesomely! However, the actual show started off kinda slow. I see a re-enactment of blood dripping and John Walsh looking like a sideline observer/commentator rather than a host. But after a while, I got it, and it got more interesting along the way. In my opinion, there was probably too much build-up to the murders of Sandy and her daughters. It was really the news clips and after effects when I was more drawn in, it was more interesting. That was the part that was more like AMW as that's when you felt you were looking for Shane Miller as well. To be honest, I was getting a bit bored leading up the murder itself. I see what they're trying to do, and as John Walsh stated in earlier articles, The Hunt will likely evolve as they go along. My complaint about the 1-2 fugitive format is not about style choice- it's about capture probability. Air a few more cases, there's more chances at a capture from an episode. And also justice for as many people possible who need a court of last resort. John Walsh mentioned the insane amount of cases they had to turn down on AMW. If they were turning down hundreds of cases a week on AMW, they're turning down THOUSANDS of cases for The Hunt. So while a lot was interesting, I felt like they could have snuck in commercial break cases or 15 seconds of shame cases. I understand what they're trying to do- tell a story to draw the viewers in and make you feel for the victims. However, the point is also to catch the fugitive to provide justice in the first place. Although I was pleasantly surprised to see that I felt they did a decent job spending time on clues on Shane Miller- but they also didn't mention how he could possibly be in Oregon or Mexico or even India like earlier articles and The Hunt site's suggests. I wouldn't call it a mixed review as opposed to hopeful and cautiously optimistic. I see what they're TRYING to do. I watched Parts Unknown and I like the ZPZ documentary format so the Production does stylistically look much better. So anyway, I felt it started off slowly, but was drawn in towards in the end, and this has me cautiously optimistic the show will get better!

Also, even though the reviews said next week was only Kevin Stoeser the preview showed Charles Mozdir as well. So it could potentially be both fugitives next week. (Which makes sense to me- since I couldn't picture an hour on either one like I can with Miller and Bradford Bishop)

I just wanted to add that someone will probably call 1-8 00 THE-HUNT and get an operating machine for the business that uses that phone number.

One fear I have is people trying to call The Hunt with our AMW and exclusive cases. Not that I don't want those cases having tips, but I take it they don't handle those fugitives. I tried to explain at the top to contact the Hunt with tips on their cases.

Well, the first 10 minutes of The Hunt aren't too shabby so far. I do agree that it's going a little slowly, but I'll tell you what I really like; heading into commercial, they put up Shane Miller's profile card along with vital details about him. I like that they're showing that now instead of waiting until the very end of the show.
So far, it's pretty decent, and I think it's going to be a nice addition to CNN's lineup!

Awesome! So as long as the ratings keep up and we get a few direct captures, we're pretty much guaranteed a second season.

Anthony Bourdain's second season came right after his first season last year after it was a surprise success in the ratings. I am hoping something similar happens with The Hunt! Looks like CNN has a hit on their hands!

THE HUNT!
This was great! I enjoyed every minute although I do agree with Scumhunter the show seemed to start off slow but finished great. I also agree with charliesetten this case made me think of Robert Fisher as well. I also liked the fact The Hunt showed Shane Miller's profile card more than once, a few times actually:) Even better next week there will be two featured fugitives instead of just the one fugitive. CNN has a great show on their hands and with the great raitings, I feel The Hunt will be around for a few seasons:) LET'S GET HIM or HER!!!!!

Because I enjoyed the episode more towards the end I have the feeling I will like the next episode even better since it will likely not have as much buildup with there being two cases.
Also Stoeser and Mozdir don't seem to be too hard to spot. Although I'm hoping for a miracle that Miller will be caught this week (he on paper/logistically speaking is much harder than David James Roberts or Alan Euegene White seemed to be to catch in my opinion), I'm going to make a bold prediction and GUARANTEE that eiter Stoeser or Mozdir will be caught after the July 20th airing- and it wouldn't surprise me if both were! I'm just hoping they'll be direct captures #2 or #3 or after Shane Miller!
