I’m going to make a quick prediction about the first season of In Pursuit and say Luis Frias & Gloria Schulze will most likely be captured during the season.
If a spot were to open up on the FBI Top Ten within the next few months, Thayne Smika would be added right away and maybe Lamont Stephenson gets caught thanks to In Pursuit.
I’m also in shock that they are airing Lamont Stephenson again since it was only last year since his segment on The Hunt, it seems they must be determined to catch him.

Not surprised at all they're airing Lamont Stephenson again. Although in fairness I already knew he was getting an airing before they revealed his face in the promos and was playing coy. Remember they added Lamont to the top ten list after his last 'Hunt' airing and he is one of the new FBI top ten cases. I feel very good about In Pursuit chance's of capturing him since he will be on a network more widely viewed than HLN was.

I do hope Luis Frias and/or Butch Knight are caught soon after their airing thoufh since I want the show to establish itself and be successful right off the bat.
Of all the major John Walsh debuts (first two iterations of AMW, AMW on Lifetime, The Hunt), the only time the debut fugitive has not been captured or found deceased was Margaret Smith from the first episode of AMW's Lifetime era, so there is a very good track record.

Let’s hope In Pursuit’s first season doesn’t end up like The Hunt’s first season with everyone turning up deceased. (More unlikely for that to happen since everyone for the most part seems to be young and believed to be alive)

Yeah one of my few criticisms of an otherwise excellent and awesome four years with The Hunt is they did a few too many "may already be deceased" cases which definitely affected the direct capture chances considering some episodes were only one fugitive (this show will be two fugitives an episode). So far Thayne Smika is the only case so far where it is reasonable to possibly assume the suspect is deceased (others may be dead already also and based on law of averages there's bound to be at least one or two if not more fugitives already deceased but there isn't overwhelming evidence that they are).
Thankfully they have a good recent vs. cold case fugitive ratio from what I've seen so far.

Just a note that I politely pointed out it is inaccurate when John Walsh says he brought 1422 fugitives earlier in the thread. When amw.com stopped updating their capture counter, the number was at 1204 or 1205 I think. This wasn't meant as an insult as it's still an impressive number, but I wanted to clarify for anyone who wonders how many fugitives AMW caught over the years. I finally realized tonight John Walsh is possibly referring to the OVERALL amount of fugitives he's caught not just with AMW but also with The Hunt and the Justice Network (also there were plenty of fugitives who were arrested that AMW never took credit for even though they were seemingly a result of the show, or fugitives who turned themselves in at just knowing they would likely soon be on AMW). So when you put it that way the number is close to or well above 1400.

Just a reminder that there will be preview clips for In Pursuit from 4 PM- Midnight today according to HeadMarshal's posting. I technically have off from work today but have errands and stuff (and other shows to catch up on). I'll try to view ID when I can and stay alert but would appreciate if anyone else that also watches ID today lets us know what they see!

Well that didn't take long as we have a 5-minute preview clip already! It's funny since so many people wondered whether the show would be more like AMW or The Hunt when the answer seems to be- both! The re-enactment style is similar to The Hunt in that the actors don't seem to speak while there are interviews between. However, John Walsh is also telling the story instead of giving sideline thoughts. It's basically like if you watched a Hunt episode but instead of the no-filler in between speaking besides John Walsh commentating, he's narrating over the segment instead. I'm sorry for the tragedy of what happened to Jannett Reyna as that's not what I "enjoy", but I do like the new format of this part of the show (I would like to see what the Callahan portion will look like as well). www.investigationdiscovery.com/playlists/id-premiere-new-year

Just saw a preview where John Walsh "hands off" to Callahan while rewinding DVR on today's ID shows. Callahan seems to be interviewing who I believe is Sara Knight's daughter and then a law enforcement official. I don't know if there will be voice-over narration but I guess we can say the John Walsh portion of the show will be more narrative-driven while Callahan's segments will be more interview-focused and/or investigative journalism-esque based on the commercial preview.

I think I saw most of the promos if they're the ones we referenced earlier in the thread. Is there a new one?

Perhaps this belongs in the "Most annoying fan comments" section but in relation to John Walsh saying he caught 1400 fugitives, regardless of what the actual number is, I'm tired of people trying to say "no he didn't, the people who arrested those criminals did."
I am in no means belittling law enforcement and the excellent work they do, the U.S. Marshals and the FBI do. However, a lot of the reason those fugitives were caught were because of the credibility John Walsh had as a victim's advocate and his dedication to AMW that got people to watch his show(s) every week to call in the tips to lead to the arrests of those bad guys.
(Let us also not forget Elizabeth Smart may have never been recovered had John Walsh not went against law enforcement wishes to publicize the "Emanuel" lead on CNN's "Larry King Live" and later AMW).
Law enforcement does amazing work in tracking down fugitives. However, a lot of fugitives may have never been caught if not for the general public tuning in to specifically watch John Walsh and who he wanted caught that week.
Hopefully that will continue with In Pursuit for not just John but his son Callahan as well.

I dread to think what those people would say if they knew that more than 1/20 of the Direct Captures had turned themselves in after seeing themselves on the show or website!

I tweeted and Facebook messaged John Walsch's page to do a segment on the Richard Bocklage case as I personally believe it has a high chance of being solved. Is that the best I can do or is there another way to send in a suggestion?
