Glad to see he's still in custody but you would think this would make the U.S. want to speed up his extradition even more. You would think they would speed it up any way.. I mean WTF

Type his name in on google news and it links to articles still listing him as having escaped so it looks like there will be a few more days of confusion over this.

If by "We" you mean the media and not this site who has consistently said this looks like fake news, I agree. Glad to see RCQ is still in custody though.

Thanks for the article and officially confirming what we suspected what was the cause of the confusion (the group was formerly led by RCQ) though.

The media keeps running with bad updates which irks me. If a bunch of people on a website can figure out he's still in jail, why can't they?

According to this article it states that the indictment was issued in January of 2017 and was unsealed on the day RCQ was added, in addition to that it also says, ever since the extradition of El Chapo Guzmán in 2017, there has been infighting within the faction lead by Damaso Lopez Nunez since he wanted to make a bid for the leadership, but calmed afterwards to insure stability. In the event that Rafael Caro-Quintero, now the most sought after cartel leader in the world (even El Chapo didn’t get to the level RCQ is currently), is captured or killed, this could destabilize the Sinaloa cartel, and also sadly add further violence in Mexico. worldview.stratfor.com/article/20-million-reward-cartel-leader-mexico-hiding-dea-camarena-caro-quintero-narcoUnfortunately I feel this was spot on.

Sad to say but when the head of a major drug ring goes down, the only question is how bad the violence will be during the fight over his replacement. Too bad so many in Mexico have to pay the price for that.

That might be the only thing holding back a new addition. In my opinion, FBI likely has their pick ready to go, just waiting for extradition because RCQ is a high risk fugitive if he gets away

Rafael caro quintero is still awaiting extradition but there is a touch of good news Rodrigo Omar paez quintero has been extradited back to the state for the charges he faces in relation to the numerous drug trafficking and other charges in federal court in Arizona rcq is still at altiplano prison in central Mexico at least he's locked up in a maximum security prison and hopefully will not be set free again in my opinion the judge was most likely corrupt given how corrupt the Mexican judiciary is all im saying it is rampant and it is well established it is a lot better than it used to be but that technicality on federal over state jurisdiction really annoyed me but one more high ranking drug trafficking suspect in US custody
