I'm going to speak to my psychiatrist today (already had a psychiatrist appointment), if I should pay less attention to true crime stories to keep my sanity. I'm starting to feel that it's less important to me and this constant obsession with AMW and fugitive cases may have been contributing to my chronic depression since the end of last year (among many other things). If so then I'll probably have to come to this forum less. I'll keep everyone updated on what we decide.

Hey Derek, What's most important is to do what's best for you. But I do want to say I appreciate having you as a poster here and most of all appreciate that while there's a lot more activity now and a few more posters from the old AMW.COM forum later on, you were the first from the old group to join, among the first users to join, and among the first to add cases and post when no one had heard of this site yet. And you had some good ideas as well when I asked for suggestions. I hate to sound too corny, but if you were to leave, I'd miss having you as a poster. I know you said just posting less, but still. I can understand the obsession angle though. Ever since AMW was cancelled, my paranoia of thinking I see fugitives has been down. I was good for at least three or four tips a year before that, LOL. I have promised myself if AMW comes back, no tips unless the person I see has the same identifying tattoo, scar or alias they mention on the show, no matter how much I think they look like a twin. Anyway, good luck with whatever you two decide.

That should make me feel better.

I'm back! Really liked DC, although I was sick for a large duration of my trip which sucked. Museum of Crime and Punishment was cool. Derek had already warned me there was no studio set to walk on anymore (and in a double whammy, the entire basement was closed for a private event, not that I was going to participate in a children's workshop, but it would have been cool to at least walk on what used to be the set.) but it still had plenty of AMW memories such as John List's bust and a summary of the Texas Seven. I still thought the price was kinda high (it was like 23 dollars), and the front desk lady couldn't have made it any more obvious she hated her job, but it was a neat museum. At least I can say I finally went there. Also, one more AMW thing I noticed I actually recognized on the street from looking at the taxis that the "Yellow Taxi Company" HAS to be the taxi company used in the Said re-enactment. I of course remember that re-enactment vividly and immediately recognized the design. If anyone is ever in DC and looks at the re-enactment in the Said thread you'll see. There's even a phone number in the re-enactment and I looked it up and sure enough it is that taxi company. (My Said look-a-like drove for a different taxi company) Also, while waiting to board Amtrak back home, I saw Tom Morris doing the "If you see something, say something" safety speech on the overlooking screen. So at least my trip had some AMW elements to it! Ok, I'll go take a closer look at these threads since I've been away now!

I've finally gone back to some of the first case threads I created here and added fugitive/unidentified suspect photos to the threads of Eric Valdivia/Melecio Maravilla, Xerox Credit Union Killer, Henry "Droopy" Menjivar, Saul Aguilar, Lovekesh Kumar and Donald Santini.

I should bring up that I have an appointment on the 19th to discuss an upcoming surgery. Whenever I actually have the surgery, don't expect me to be posting that much immediately after. Hopefully I can get the fugitive face-off game done before the surgery but if not, I may need someone else to run it for a bit or I may need to delay it. Just thought I should inform all of you.
Don't worry as the condition isn't life-threatening.

Also it would be a good idea to make a thread for Jose Miranda on Veterans Day (USA) tomorrow. I don't know if I'll have time to do a thread on his case tomorrow.

In case anyone doesn't know the fugitive featured as my latest avatar it's Oakland, California double murderer Carlos Cervantes. He was aired on AMW in 2003 and 2006 although there's no thread on him yet, however there's a missing child case I really want to post about today since this Tuesday will be the 25th anniversary of her abduction.

So this is annoying me. Sorry for any spoilers but it's been two days. Family Guy killed off the family dog Brian Griffin in this past Sunday's episode. I have seen multiple posts on my Facebook page from people upset and saying they're never watching Family Guy and other people saying they actually CRIED and now apparently there's a fan revolt.
So let me get this straight? A fictional cartoon dog is killed off and the internet blows up. AMW, a show that saves lives gets cancelled and I can't even get 500 signatures.
I like Family Guy and The Simpsons (Although neither are nearly as funny as they used to be), but it's nice to see where people's priorities are. It just depresses me when I see petitions complaining that Ben Affleck is Batman or about people not liking the actors cast for the "50 Shades Of Grey" movie or Family Guy killing off Brian Griffin get tens of thousand of signatures and no one gave a crap about AMW. I wish people had an easier time putting things in perspective.

I'd heard tales of the modern-day common human's stupidity, lack of education, ignorance, etc. from many friends of mine, but I could've never imagined that interest in (beep)ing America's Most Wanted would turn out to be so niche! Of course, if they'd just read my Old Captures Directory, particularly Captures #202, #321, #786, #803, and #989, they would see that AMW has busted fugitives that wouldn't stop killing until they were caught, and spared the lives of those serial killers' would-be subsequent victims! Entertainment may be more varied than sports, and can be used for good, but those other shows won't make the differences that AMW made!

If you haven't yet you should check out the movie Idiocracy since it reminds me of what you said about stupidity. A very funny but way too realistic movie that actually seemed like a documentary.
