I felt it would be a good idea for us to have a daily chit-chat thread where we can talk about anything on our minds that isn't AMW or case-centric related. I'll start by saying that I'm going to be at a Fan Expo convention (Anime/Gaming/Comics.etc) this weekend and then I'll be starting my Business-Marketing program at College in September.
So how is everyone doing today?

Doing well! I believe AMW.COM's forums had an off-topic discussion called "Coffee Klatch" that was the same idea as this. This can be fun, but also depressing on the days I don't do anything. And today is that day as I'm working six out of seven days this week. I work and go out often (I know I post a lot but often it's from my cell phone on the run) but need one day a week where I basically stay home for my sanity. The Fan Expo sounds fun! Anything you're particularly looking forward to seeing?

Mainly stuff related to anime and gaming is what I'm looking forward to.

Ah ok. I'm mainly into Superhero stuff and grew up reading Spider-Man comic books. I pretty much see most of the comic book movies that come out. Of course, I consider John Walsh a real-life Superhero.

B&W Films 000-012 PDF.pdf (624.76 KB) The link leads to my annual Top & Bottom 40 Films lists. Like with John Walsh's Top 10, 2 000, the first year of the New Millennium, is the earliest year for which I made a "Worst" list. As I've mentioned in the past, #10-#1 on the Bottom 40 lists are very loosely based on John Walsh's Top 10. The best example would be the bottom 10 films of '003. #8, 7, 6, 3, 2, and 1 on John Walsh's Top 10 Fugitives of 2003 are all agreed by hardcore fans to be wanted in far worse cases than #10, 5, 4. Likewise, #8, 7, 6, 3, 2, and 1 on the bottom 10 films of '003 are routinely considered to be among the worst films ever made. #4 on both John Walsh's Top 10 of 2003 and the Bottom 40 Films of '003 made it that deep on the lists for many principles, but sinister factor wasn't among them. Douglas Paul Aigen's case was very colorful and popular, but he wasn't as scary as some of the others. #4 on the Bottom 40 Films of '003 didn't get quite as bad reviews as some of the others ranked nearby, but was so deep on the list in part because the cast should've put out far better performances and the source material didn't exactly need a film adaptation, but really didn't deserve a sequel thereof.

Nice lists. Yeah, I was not really a big fan of either Charlie's Angels movie but the first one was passable and a "mild-thumbs up" from me at least and thought the sequel was a let down.
You pretty much nailed it as far as which comic book movies belonged in best and worst (except I was a bit disappointed in The Dark Knight Rises though)

I need to vent.
My father works as a salesman for a small company who's database of clients (including those my father has and keeps track of what he last talked about with them) is done by another company. Over the weekend their system fried and now my father can't call any of his clients. So the company never did a backup system because they simply thought nothing bad would happen to their system. So at worst my father's orders are low for this month and September because he's going on vacation. That's just business incompetence for you.

You have to prepare for worst case scenarios. Which reminds me as much as I love proboards, they currently don't have a forum backup option. If it crashes they can restore to the most recent time before the crash however. Hopefully we'll never have to worry about that but please everyone keep your dirty dozen, top 10 lists etc.stored elsewhere just in case.

So can someone please explain to me this Breaking Bad. AMW was the only show where I made time for and made sure to watch every episode every week (even if I had to DVR and watch later). And tv right now feels empty without it. I've never seen Breaking Bad, but my friends will not shut up about this show, and Sunday and the week in general is filled with so many references to it. I've never seen an episode and this week's theme is "send them on a trip to Belize" All my friends keep posting that on Facebook, I have no idea what they're talking about, and of course as an AMW fan my immediate reaction is "Belize! That's where they caught four fugitives including Robert Snyder and Larene Austin!"

My parents LOVE Breaking Bad. I think it's about a meth dealer who is dying of cancer and all the drama that goes along with that. From what I understand, it's kind of a dark comedy show. It's interesting (I've seen one or two episodes) but I don't know if I'd be willing to watch the whole series.
Right now, I'm expecting to work on one article for tomorrow's paper about a local agriculture facility that recently got new maintenance work done to it. I'm also keeping a look out for pleas in an upcoming murder trial. Two people are accused of killing a young man from here in town, and they're supposed to make their pleas sometime this week or early next week.
I'm also planning on going back to visit my college this weekend. Every year during move-in weekend, my fraternity hosts a big "beginning of the year" party that is usually either a bonfire or a dance party (depends on if there's a burn ban in effect or not). I always make it a point to visit the guys during this time of the year, though this may be the last one I end up going to since this year's seniors were freshmen when I was a senior. After they graduate, there won't be many people left at my college that I know.

It's just the fact that my friends at least have gotten to the point where every status update is about that freaking show. LOL. And enjoy the weekend! One of my regrets about going to a commuter college is although I made friends there wasn't the dorm-ing and having more time to join groups and activities and such. P.S. Do you think it's possible one day you'll have to cover an AMW-related case?

Funny you mention that, because there actually has been a fugitive from here in town that was profiled on AMW He was captured and convicted before I started working here. So it's actually entirely possible that I could

Ben Affleck is the new Batman? I will use an acronym to adhere to my forum's guidelines and ask "WTF?"
I mean seriously, did anyone not see Daredevil?
George Clooney must be excited he may no longer go down as the worst Bruce Wayne in history.

I'm currently on hold with TD Waterhouse since I keep getting charged a $29.99 commission fee for stock purchases/sells I put into my tax-free savings account when the fee for my other accounts is $7.00. We need to sort this out.
