The FBI added Ravelo 7 years ago today. I really felt like it was just yesterday that they added him. It's weird not having Mogilevich on this year since tomorrow would have been his 7th year as a top tenner had he not been removed. But anyways any thoughts on the 7th anniversary of Ravelo's addition?

If the FBI were to increase the bounty for any other Top Tenner, Ravelo would likely be the guy, with the way things are on the current list now, the FBI will have to up the Ante and it could be for any one of them, but Ravelo stands out, given that he is the Captain of the Barrio Azteca.

An increased reward is usually used as a publicity tool. Although if it is a crime that involves a bank or something like that with Gerena when he was on the list usually the reward is more because of a federal institution being involved.
Ravelo is likely in Mexico under plastic surgery. He wouldn't make the best candidate for a reward based on that imo.
I think someone more catchable like a Yaser Said would make the much better candidate.

Yaser Said does fit perfectly for an increased reward and the 9th anniversary of his crime is coming up, Luis Macedo is very well suited too. Ravelo is catchable, but it depends if the security forces are willing to launch an operation against Ravelo and the cartel he's working for.

The thing is I don't see Ravelo going down through public tips but through investigation. He might not be the best guy for the top ten list based on that, but they've removed enough people already lol.

I agree Ravelo could only go down through investigation, similar to what happen to Bin Laden in 2011. Now I don't want anyone removed anymore (now that the troubling fugitives are gone) even though I'm a bit sad that Mogilevich, Godwin and Gerena didn't get caught, but newer fugitives have taken their places. (Note: Today marks one year since Mogilevich was removed)

Well not forgiving their alleged crimes but I honestly can't say I'm sad about Mogilevich and Gerena since I never expected them to be extradited anyway so there was no disappointment.
Getting off-topic from discussing Ravelo himself but Glen Godwin is the one I'm still a little disappointed was removed.

Lol too off topic but yeah I understand why because Godwin was the worst of the other 3, while not condoning the other 2s actions. However let's hope through investigation Ravelo goes down and put a dent on Barrio Azteca.

I would think with the current political climate (I will not go further than that- I state my political opinions in off-topic discussion only), Ravelo would probably feel safer in Mexico. But any fugitive crossing the border back and forth is always a possibility.

Major update as it now turns out Ravelo is believed to be behind a 2010 triple homicide of a pregnant U.S. consulate employee and two others (did we know this before and I just missed it, I don't remember this.) Here's an excerpt describing the crime and I'll post the full link to the press release below it "Seven years ago this month, three ruthless murders took place in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, just minutes away from the international border with the United States. On March 13, 2010, Barrio Azteca gang members, allegedly acting at the direction of Ravelo, shot and killed United States consulate employee Lesley Enriquez, age 35, who was four months pregnant; her husband Arthur Redelfs, an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Detention Officer; and Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, whose wife also worked at the United States Consulate in Ciudad Juarez. The seven-month-old daughter of Enriquez and Redelfs was also with them in their car, but was not injured. All three victims were returning home from a child’s birthday party. Enriquez and Redelfs were in one vehicle, and Salcido Ceniceros was in another vehicle when they were violently attacked and murdered." www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/elpaso/news/press-releases/fbi-seeking-public-tips-about-top-ten-fugitive-eduardo-ravelo-on-the-anniversary-of-the-consulate-murders-

Ravelo in 1992 in the photos above and I'm glad he's been charged with murder, but they should've increased the bounty to about $200,000 or $250,000

$100,000 is still a lot of money so I'm not worried about that. I am taking the case a lot more seriously now though (not that it shouldn't have been taken seriously before, but this hammers home the point innocent victims may have been killed by Ravelo, either directly involved or from his orders, as well.)

These new charges are ones you'd expect from a Most Wanted Terrorist, so yes taking him more seriously is the best opinion. Barrio Azteca has more victims according to that Wikipedia page. However we did not mention the 2010 Consulate murders, but few people outside this board speculated that Ravelo was probably responsible for the attack. The fact that he was indicted in 2011 was very alien to many, including me. When the triple murders happened, there was a heck of a lot of outrage and some people went as far as to say that Ravelo takes Bin Laden's place as worlds most dangerous man (2010) en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrio_Azteca
