To clear up any confusion, every category AMW covered now has a non-AMW category as well! I may need to change this again to non-AMW/World's Most Wanted or whatever the new show name is soon, but I think this is good for now!

We have another old amw.com forum member. Profiler24 has joined the forum! Welcome to the new amw forums Profiler24! Thanks for the welcome . I managed to login on the old amw forum and sent an email to members Platinum Skye, Cbann and Buquelady with a link to this AMW board.

Trying to figure this thing out for when John Walsh's new show debuts. It's funny how things progress. I created this forum really as a stop gag when AMW's old forums crashed. I figured they'd be back soon and we'd temporarily post here. But they were cancelled and the forum took on a life of its own. Then when Lifetime cancelled AMW, I created the non-AMW section figuring it would tide us over until AMW found a new home. Then AMW didn't find a new home, and the non-AMW section in my opinion became a big part of the site and also took on a life of its own. Assuming Fox lets Walsh name the show "World's Most Wanted" (this is just an example) I take it we don't have to make new sections but just call everything AMW/World's Most Wanted fugitives, Non-AMW/World's Most Wanted fugitives etc. We can also evolve into a tv-crime fighting forum if any other fugitive show comes about. For example, that Connected To The Case show if it happens- AMW/World's Most Wanted/Connected To The Case fugitives. I realize Unsolved Mysteries also profiled fugitive, missing, and unknown murder cases but they weren't exactly the same thing so I think it's ok to leave UM-aired cases in non-AMW sections. I assume still calling this America's Most Wanted fans makes sense even with a new show name as these are fans of shows looking for America's Most Wanted fugitives. But I'm also wondering about the non-AMW section since I think we had a good thing going. For one, we may be busy posting fugitives from the new show and there may be a question of how frequently we should post in the non-AMW section. I also don't want people on this site calling into Walsh's new show to give tips on fugitives from this forum that they didn't air. On the other hand, naturally fans may stumble upon this site looking for fugitives on Walsh's new show, and they may browse the non-AMW section out of curioisty and you never know, it could lead to catching some of our fugitives as well. I will be the first to admit that as much as I think the non-AMW section has taken off, we are better off with a fugitive show and this forum rather than no fugitive show and this forum. I'm proud, but we're not going to capture bad guys at the rate of a tv show. I think it will be a bit of a challenge though to balance everything off and would love suggestions. As I said before, this is a GREAT "problem" to have.

I agree with everything Scumhunter said. Maybe for recent non-amw cases there should be less updates, but I still have a lot of non-amw cold case fugitives to put in the specific subforum, and I feel very few of them would have a chance at making the new show.

once every two weeks instead? a month? Perhaps there will still be time to post at the same rate or perhaps more infrequently. I guess we'll figure it out.

This forum has a new url! You can now visit this site by visiting amwfans.com. The old address still works as well so you don't need to update your bookmarks but if you ever want to visit this site and are not at home you can now quickly type in amwfans.com Nothing else has really changed. It's just since we're now a bit more popular I wanted to make this seem a bit more professionally run. The only person negatively affected is me since I had to pay for a .com address.

Now this is obviously probably the least important thing I've ever asked- but curious what people think about the background and graphics and such on this forum. The "theme" is the default theme Pro Boards (the server) gives when you create a message board with them. Is it too boring or drab for some? Perhaps I should try to see if I can change the background a bit, perhaps instead of white background and the blue gradients (the blue bar things with the white wording that introduces the categories such as fugitives, captures, etc) black gradients would be better, or if possible import a theme to make it more AMW-esque (meaning like AMW.com's forums a black background with white text)? I'm assuming everyone really doesn't care what the forum looks like as long as we can still discuss the cases.

Still working on moving around some threads to new categories but I think the changes I just made to the site are self-explanatory. With a new show from John Walsh coming out, wanted to make sure we encompassed it, and the few cases from non-Walsh related shows on here. I have no idea what The Hunt will encompass but I have included them in every category in case they show more than just fugitives. In any case, they are a sort of AMW spin-off national crime show.

There are some types of message boards where graphics are more important, but for this forum I'm fine with the default theme.

For the past week or so, I've noticed the visitor counter twice saying we've had "666" guests in the past 24 hours. Although that is somewhat fitting considering some of the people we profile on here, it is beginning to freak me out a bit. In any case, I should look on the bright side and say 600 plus visitors in a 24-hour period is pretty good for a message board.

Meant to post that in off-topic discussion, but I'm too lazy to fix that and at least it relates to our forum somewhat.
