Wondering how you guys feel on approving members where its obvious they must have a relation to a fugitive even if they don't say it. Someone based on their name and e-mail I can tell has a relation to an AMW direct capture. The second person in this case was not captured howver. However this person did not leave any other information. (I approved other people in the past because I knew who they were and told me or I knew based on other internet postings they were just going to state an opinion and not attack anybody.) I really don't need drama on this board but part of me is curious what this person has to say. Is it approve now and ban later if they troll. Or if they register in a mysterious manner is it best left alone? Based on googling the user name, I have no record of this person's posts and no idea if they're just going to whine that the capture directory info is inaccurate or actually say something of value.

If they make it apparent in their name and e-mail then I wouldn't allow it.

Yeah its a case with a lot of unanswered questions so part of me was curious to see if they clarified anything but the mysterious manner in which this person registered raises too many red flags. Besides, not sure how much you can trust info from a family member.

A milestone! This forum now has its 100th member! Yay! Although it would be cool if more members would post. What I want to know is, why would you join a forum and not post at least something. This happens on almost every major forum I've seen.

I feel like I'm partly to blame since we'd have at least 10 more members if it was t for that time I had that "don't answer the registration question don't get approved rule." I learned for every 10 people that register only 2 actually answer it LOL. Now I approve profiles if they seem normal enough but I leave the question up therw as my excuse to reject suspicious registrations. Anyway I'm sure the more members who join the more increased likelihood of posts!

This is irking me. I've approved like 10 people this past week and not one has posted. Please post! We don't bite!

A side note to prospective members, when you register with the user name "F***u602" you will not be accepted. Amusing though.

I was hoping for more members with all those gazillion articles mentioning the site. Just seems to be a lot more lurkers than usual. Damn LOL. The members are increasing little by little. There would be A LOT more activity if you didn't have to register to sign, but trolls ruined that. As I said before, I guess we'll wait for the official news but the new John Walsh show means we may need to re-work this site. Right now I'm assuming we can still call the forum AMW fans and for each section with AMW in the title put "AMW/New Show Name" I shouldn't worry about hypothetical situations but if Fox ever says "you know what, we own AMW and we're bringing it back without John Walsh who has his own show now" that would make things even more confusing LOL. I am proud at how far we've come though. This was a meant to be a stopgag until AMW.COM's forum came back, and then an AMW discussion forum when it was obvious it wasn't, right now it's been a bit more overall crime with a focus on fugitives, but who knows if it will be more tv-show discussion oriented again with the new show. This also started out as "amateur sleuthing" (not meant as an insult I swear!) and I had no intention of actually trying to catch these guys but rather just wanted us to "sleuth" and discuss them, but I think you never know and we could eventually help catch somebody as well!

As I've mentioned before, there aren't many true crime message boards with a main focus on fugitive cases (if any). So I feel that's the main difference with this message board. Yes, being based off AMW cases means there's going to be a major focus on wanted fugitives but now we're posting non-amw fugitives as well.

I agree. Most true-crime boards seem to be focused on "Unsolved Mysteries" and I don't necessarily mean the tv show. I want unknown killers and missing persons and children found too but this site is basically following the model of AMW- a show primarily about chasing wanted fugitives which also included other types of cases since they were also part of the mission. Not trying to be biased, I always stressed back when AMW was on the air I'd rather recover a child than find a fugitive. It just seems to be the theme that has taken shape here, and there really are no other forums that comprehensively cover fugitives like this one.

Decided to create an e-mail account for this forum. It seems sometimes people want to add a comment to a case but are too shy to want to post once they register. (Once again I remind everyone we don't bite!) I figure this may help if they want to add anything they think may be of note or even request a case for us to profile.
This is just something I'm experimenting with. If I wind up getting nothing but hate mail, I'm probably going to take down the contact info page.

Since who knows if AMW.COM will ever be fixed (especially considering the show looks officially gone for the foreseeable future), for the next few days or however long it takes I'll be going over the fugitives pages and re-entering photos that no longer work because they were copied and pasted from their site. Some are actually better photos and some are worse. I could just save the amw images from google and use them as attachments as that would still work, but I don't want to have to do that much on my lap top, and attachments are the only things on the server where there isn't unlimited space. (You have to pay for more attachments after a certain point).
Anyway, if any of you saw I edited any of your posts, it was so I could put a new photo in!
P.S. Also, unfortunately some fugitives such as Alfredo Martinez I can't find any photos at all.

Thanks! I was able to eventually find a picture for everyone (so far) after all.
