I remember bringing up the Elisa Lam case on the off topic thread in 2016 when I was new to the forum, it’s a very creepy case considering the circumstances that there’s a lot of events that occurred without explanation like her behavior in the elevator and how she ended up in the water tank. Sorry I didn't know you did but didn't mean to indirectly criticize you in any way. I looked and now remember agreeing with you the description you gave was creepy but I'm going to be honest and admit I didn't watch your youtube, I only agreed with you it was creepy based on your description. I'm basically giving away the documentary but it turns out the case wasn't as creepy as it appeared now that I actually watched videos about the case (sorry for pretending to view your links- I was probably busy lol)- A) Elisa was acting erratically even before her death. She gave some sort of note at a tv show taping and was kicked out of the show B) She had a history of acting strange when off her meds. C) She was being disruptive at the hotel even before her death- leaving notes telling her rommates to go away D) It turns out there's ladder from the top floor fire escape that has to be available in case of emergencies- it seems the most likely way she ended up on the roof was climbing the ladder. E) It turns out the water tank roof was open when Elisa was found- not closed after all. The mainteance man said it was open but a police spokesman misspoke. She had a history of thinking she was being chased by people and dove into the tank and drowned by accident. F) There's a button where you can make the elevator stay open- hence why it was staying open when she was pressing all those buttons G) The video was choppy but it seems the way the media sent it out- plus sometimes videos are edited because they only want certain things shown. But basically, the docuseries breaks down how every weird thing about the video was actually easily explainable after all. Basically, it was a sad case of a girl with a mental illness that had a manic episode (while everyone forgets Morbid also became a mental health victim- yeah he sang songs about death and perhaps went a little far with it but it was still his free speech) that internet sleuths blew way out of proportion and made may way more creepy than it appeared. I'm not saying this as a criticism but as a precaution to be wary of internet sleuth YouTubers as they can easily manipulate and aren't the experts they often pretend to be. A lot of the commentary on YouTube with regards to this case, are mainly the creepypasta or scary/creepy video crowd, there was this one web sleuth who looked extensively at this case and even discussed Donald Webb when his remains were found 4 years ago.

Wanted to post here that I want to get as many of the remaining Harris County, Texas fugitive homicide cases on the site as possible. These are cases between October 29, 1985 to the present which is what's covered on Newslibrary for the Houston Chronicle archives. I will only post a case if I can find a photo and/or case specific details. Even with cases that don't have photos, I want the details on the crime on the internet if I can confirm the active warrant through the Harris County court records. Thankfully, we have been able to confirm numerous Harris County fugitives through their public court database.

Really frustarted we haven't gotten up to 1400 members yet because I'm superstitious and have an irrational fear of the number 13 lol. (In my defense age 13 and the year 2013 were two of the worst years of my life plus 2013 was the year Lifetime cancelled AMW lol). I realize it's a silly fear but it's still frustrating checking and seeing no new registrations yet (this is also why it was so hard for me to remove members when we were so close to 1400 (and I know I'm beating a dead horse but lost in my rant I did mean to mention just because you're a fan of ours doesn't mean you can be rude or not follow the rules as flattered as I may be, but I sort of got carried away with bashing youtube internet sleuths instead of the other point I wanted to make lol).
We'd been getting one new registration a day and OF COURSE once we get to 1399 and are about to get rid of my ocd on this there's a lull in registrations.
I have no idea what I'm going to do once we get to 13,000 threads since it could take two years to get to 14,000 lol. (I think I'm just going to pretend the threads are like 1-three- and three numbers so I don't go too crazy lol).

(And none of the 1400 delete their account yet so we can stay at that number please!).

I don't want to sound unappreciative as it is the thought that counts but I would like to once again remind our readers and forum members that if they have a tip on the fugitive to please not post it publicly on our website- the fugitive could Google himself and see that is known where he is- and then flee that location.
While I would prefer as stated in our contact form that our suggested tip lines be the places you call and/or send a web tip to, you can always private message me or e-mail our website contact form if you need advice about sending in a tip. I will send it in if you absolutely want me to, but it is always best if you do it yourself and there is usually at least crime stoppers where you can do it anonymously so it is not secondhand info.

I know it sounds contradictory considering I've made fun of/been critical of people who post on Facebook sometimes, but one thing I'd like to encourage us to do more often is to find the obvious Facebooks of fugitives on our site- as even though I don't think they're much use tip-wise, they are good for getting into the psyche and knowing the quirks of the fugitive. Also you can see where their friends and family ties are.
What I make fun is when people find a fugitive's public Facebook and act like they're geniuses and the first one to discover it- when all you usually have to do is enter their name. Do you really not think the police did that too? And although there have been some rare exceptions, fugitives usually aren't dumb enough to log in to Facebook while on the run, although there have been a few who logged in to dare the police to catch them, and then they usually get caught the next day.
However, even though it doesn't make you a genius (no offense lol) it does add to the discussion when you find a fugitive's Facebook so it is still encouraged to find fugitive Facebook profiles if you can lol.

Someone on Reddit advised to stay away from our forum since we have a Trojan.
I did the Google safety check which showed no issues.
We are the mercy of ProBoards which although has been awesome to us, perhaps there can be a pop-up ad that would have a Trojan if clicked on but that's the only thing I can think of.
Have any of you guys had any safety issues with virus scan lately? I'd like to think if there was any issues, ProBoards addressed it since all of you have been posting here just fine lately it seems.
If anyone does detect anything wrong, please let me know.

So apparently people are allowed to make unverified claims about our site which isn't an attack on the user who said it as perhaps we did have a Trojan at one time and ProBoards addressed it and/or they were honestly mistaken, but I'm not allowed to defend us. Say what you want but I feel I'm relatively fair as a forum admin. The rare times I've banned members you've seen me give them second (and sometimes even third) chances. Sorry to toot my own horn but seeing this unfair moderating makes me appreciate myself lol. The irony of an admin getting moderated lol.

It is Reddit after all.

Some of you may notice I've been posting more cases than usual lately.
I want to stress I do have a life outside of this site.
Speaking of which, the reason I have been posting more cases than usual is that sometime in the middle or towards the end of this month, I expect to be pretty busy for the rest of the year. So I am trying to get in as many cases as I can now to make up for the lack of prolificness later on. (Where I will still post, just not as many cases).
So sorry if I have been driving people crazy with so many cases but there's so many people that need help so I want to cram in as many as I can while I'm still more open in my scheduling.

One thing I feel happens to thankfully me and most people as they age is the ability to handle criticism. Usually the older you get, the less sensitive to criticism you become. The one thing that still admittedly bugs me is when good intentions are misunderstood. (Let's say for example you hold the door for an older woman wanting to be kind and helpful, and instead of saying thanks she yells that she's not that old and can get the door herself, that type of stuff).
This site's criticisms for the most part are from people like the fugitive's relatives or stuff like that and you can brush it off like "yeah sure pal, your relative who was caught on camera shooting the victim isn't guilty and how dare we profile them". But there have been a few times where one unique aspect I should have known could happen but wasn't quite prepared for when I started this site is when the criticism comes from a victim's loved one. For the most part, it is an error or mistake on my part, a typo or factual error and the criticism is completely fair and I correct it. But a couple of years ago, a victim's loved one critiqued on social media the way we covered a story (I won't say if it was a fugitive or unsolved case to not give it away to much). This was despite the fact everyone else including much larger media and publications covered the story the same way we did, and I didn't think I said anything factually wrong. Still, I decided to be the bigger man, and edited the story to tell it to the way they wanted it to be told.
Several years later, and much larger media continues to cover the story in the way this person had a problem with the way we did it, yet oddly we're the only media that's ever been called out. Heck, I recall an interview with a journalist covering the case where I heard them say something so much more offensive than anything we've ever said and yet they were never called out. It's a catch-22 as I admittedly did get kind of pissed off, but on the other hand I don't want to be petty, I can't imagine what that person is going through, and not to mention I am sure their loved one's killer will strike again if they haven't already. They're still a victim or victim's loved one at the end of the day. (John Walsh has always said he's not the victim, Adam was, so I want to be careful in the way I say that). So I bit my tongue and continue to bite my tongue, but I will admit this is the one of the rare critiques I still ruminate about lol.
So yeah for the most part I can handle criticism. But the one exception where my feelings are admittedly hurt is when a victim's loved one doesn't realize this site is/was only trying to help.
Not sure where I'm going with this but just I saw the criticism of us done by someone else yet again and wanted to make a not sure if this would count as a rant, but just get this off my chest.

Also wanted to say I realized in relation to my last reply I wasn't offended by that whole we have a virus thing said on Reddit, just concerned that misinformation could divert users from our site, and thus less eyeballs on our cases that help victims, but the moderators apparently didn't care and left the comment up while deleting mine. They also said I was technically advertising our site, which is weird since it was ALREADY MENTIONED lol.
So yeah just wanted to clarify that just because I'm not offended doesn't mean I won't speak up if I see an unfair critique or erroneous comment about our site.

Working on blurbs for my Top 20 of 2021 Most Wanted list to come out next month. Unlike last year, where my main issue was figuring out who would be #1 since I could have made an argument for like at least five if not more of them before Clarence Hebron came out of nowhere as an unfortunate late breaking news case that had to be #1, I do know for sure who my #1 is for sure this year unless he gets captured before I release my list or another unfortunate Hebron-like case happens.
The main issue is 2-20 is filled with a lot of cases that are similar to each other and unfortunately that means some terrible cases will be ranked lower than they should be and/or maybe not even make the list. For instance there's unfortunately a bunch of cases involving a deceased child and/or pregnant woman as the victim. And there's like even more awful DUI or hit-and-run homicide cases than usual this year but to have variety on the list I can't include all of them, so there's going to be at least two if not three or more awful DUI homicide cases that would have made the list any other year that won't make it this year unless some other captures happen.
Then you have fugitives where articles say they may be connected to other homicides or you get the sense they're involved in more murders but I try to rank them based only on the official charges since every thing else is still technically speculation.
And yeah to give an idea how sad and tragic my list is- Martin Munoz currently isn't even on it despite the fact I'm probably going to add him to my personal dirty Dozen if a slot ever opens up (my excuse is that he's a pre-2020 TV fugitive and from now on I want to keep the yearly list as relatively recent and exclusive as possible even though general rule is wanted within the past ten years).
The list isn't something that should be "fun" but going through it felt even more brutal and heartbreaking than usual this year.

Turns out I wasn't as busy as expected as I'm still waiting to change my shifts at my non-forum job, that's the reason I thought I'd be busier as it's a busier shift and would be harder to be on the forum as often but better hours for having a life outside this forum. (Something went wrong with paperwork of my replacement who they took forever to hire and now I have to wait another two weeks at least. I'm quite pissed off and want to start my new shift already) The good news is it gives me more time to work on the forum, but while I still want to remain dedicated, it would be nice to have a life off this forum as well lol.
