Just a note that archive.org is down for maintenance after having some sort of problem so some of our photos won't work until their issues are resolved.
The irony is we usually archive our photos so they won't expire as too often picture link urls expire. This is an example when it doesn't work out the other way, but overall I think it's better to save/archive photos rather than rely on them not expiring.
Hopefully archive.org will work out their kinks soon.

For those wondering why I've been adding cases at a more frequent pace lately. There are 2 reasons. 1) I noticed we were close to 9,000 threads so I want to speed up getting to the milestone of being only 1,000 threads away from #10,000 (I'll slow down after 9,000 but then likely speed up again once we get close to 10,000). Hey at least I admit it lol. 2) To make up for lost time. I was given a busier work shift for a large chunk of the year where I only posted one or two cases a day or often not at all and then I had a much needed vacation. So it's also about making up for lost time in getting our threads up for the way too many people who need help as well. Another minor reason is In Pursuit with John Walsh's Facebook page is now posting cases besides fugitive cases daily as well, which is a good thing even if it means more work for the forum.

Just a note guys forum rules have been changed a bit on the hushmail form- this is on a trial basis in case it turns into an issue or anyone complains- but for now a valid e-mail address is now required to e-mail us. The system is now set-up so anyone who doesn't put a real or puts a fake e-mail has their e-mail automatically blocked/sent to the trash where it isn't read.
The form is supposed to be for news updates where there's no need to be anonymous anyway, but I still promise to not give away anyone's e-mail address if they choose to send an unsolicited tip instead of just a news update and don't want me to.
And just for the record, the main reason for this is a lady who e-mails me daily random rantings about how she knows where Michele Comstock is and she hangs out and runs a sex trafficking ring with Jason Derek Brown and the actual Green River Killer while John Walsh is tied up at Comstock's horse ranch etc... (which we know especially isn't true since the location this lady is in is the U.S. when Comstock is almost likely in Mexico if still alive based on what we've read from a bounty hunter's FB). I realize I said keep e-mails secret but the lady is a nutjob and I feel ok to share what are definitely illegitimate tips.
I'm trying to cut down on e-mails like that so the inbox is only legitimate people who want to contact us.

Ok we're now at 9,000, cool! I'll slow down now (well slow down compared to how frequently I had been posting cases). I may speed up again in November since I traditionally take a break from posting in January but I guess that depends now that In Pursuit posts cases on Facebook and at least last year debuted in January (I will almost likely definitely speed up once we get close to 10,000 like once we're at like 9800 at the latest so we can quickly reach the milestone- my estimation will be thread number 10,000 will likely be sometime next year but I won't complain if it happened sooner!).

Hey guys, just letting you all know- a member of #TeamInPursuit recently sent a thank you e-mail to us for our hard work and dedication in bringing attention to the cases for the show. It's no secret now of course that John, Callahan and company know about our site since they gave us a shout out in Season 1's "The Search Continues". Justice for Michael Sanchez/the manhunt for Ricardo Villanueva-Cordova was the specific case we got on the show- but over the years even if a fugitive case is one The Hunt/In Pursuit chooses to do on their own- they still have to do research on the case to prepare for the show- and often when they google the fugitive come across our site and our research which helps them tremendously. In a way, we've also helped contribute to the captures that have happened from the shows!
Just wanted to give everyone a kudos and let us know all our hard work is appreciated more than you may know!

A cold case I posted earlier about Jennifer Hunter, a prostitute who was murdered in Sarasota Florida in 1989 reminded me of a lecture I attended at CrimeCon earlier in the year.
The lecture was done by a professor named John White, a man who you can say literally wrote the book on serial killers. He was explaining different types of killers and types of victims and mentioned in his notes that some of his terminology was from the early 2000s- he had "prostitutes" listed as victims of one killer, and explained the terminology that is supposed to be used to be more politically correct is now "sex workers."
This may or not be a good analogy, but I'd equate to how back in the day the medical definition of someone who was special needs was "retarded". Obviously in 2019, the word retarded is no longer supposed to be used.
I've been guilty of saying prostitute instead of sex worker myself and I want to be more mindful and just wanted to ask us posters here to be more mindful as well. Sometimes I will post articles that use the p-word and there's not much I can do, but I can at least explain afterwards.
I know this sounds like I'm condoning sex work which is still technically illegal, but it is a matter of respecting victims who did not deserve to be murdered regardless of their choices in life. My personal and perhaps controversial opinion is that adult sex work should be legalized- regulated with STD and other health screenings and brothels with security to make sure nothing terrible happens. We've seen way too many cases of teenage girls being trafficked and we still need to eradicate that, but adult women being told what to do with their own bodies is another story and I would point to the Paul Jackson/Vance Roberts case as an argument as to why to legalize adult sex work. The problem is making things harder or illegal forces women who may decide to pursue sex work whether legal or illegal out onto the streets where they become even bigger targets of serial killers and other creeps.
Sorry for that digression, but the main point is for us to please use the phrase sex workers instead of prostitutes when we can. Just like a teenager who falls into drugs or the wrong crowd, they may or not have always made the best decisions, but none of them deserve to be murdered.

Hey guys just a note I put the forum in maintenance mode earlier in the night since the recent Exclusive Fugitives section was getting a bit chaotic with me updating some of the cases (not to sound cryptic but there was a reason for all the updating). Sorry as I usually give advance warning but figured hey who logs in at 5 am on a Saturday and all of a sudden I saw a few logins lol. But I'm not 100 percent done yet like 98 percent done but not entirely so the section is still a small mess with some stickies here and there and some recent threads that need to be reorganized so we're back online but I ask on the honor system that we please try to not post in the recent Exclusive fugitive sectiontion (2010-present) until noon eastern

Not sure where to post this but while this has been a busy week for breaking news cases, very relieved to see most of them have been resolved very quickly and we've had what on the surface at least seems like a record amount of breaking news captures in a short amount of time as well, thanks in large part to national media finally covering fugitive cases for a change. I hope this trend continues since it certainly helps when a manhunt gets additional publicity.

If you noticed me adding more fugitive cases than usual- it is because I wanted to finish out all my cases for the year which I now have. As you know as tradition I usually slow activity down in December as that is when I tend to be busier. I was debating breaking tradition and being a little more active in December than usual but I figured it still made sense to still slow down since I plan to add more fugitive cases than usual (at least one per day or every other day) in 2020. I may still add other types of cases for the rest of this month but otherwise these will be the only reasons you see cases added in December:
-Breaking news cases/Amber Alerts
-TV Fugitives (Live PD fugitives; CNN website
-FBI website or Marshals most wanted additions and/or state most wanted additions
-Case requests
-Cases I simply find interesting (giving myself leeway lol)
Also, believe it or not we are coming up on the seven-year anniversary of our forum next month!

Just a note that Israel Moreira-Sorto is the forum's final fugitive/case of the week for 2019.
Next week my selection for my personal most wanted fugitive of the year will occupy the top space on the front page for the rest of the year or until they're caught.
I'm probably caught in the moment but I'll do a top 10 or 15 or 20 list as well and it's probably always been like that but this may have been my toughest overall most wanted list to make , with at least five fugitives making a case for #1, if not more.

As I mentioned in his thread, since there is new information on the manhunt for double murder suspect Karlton Sirmons, I'm making him case of the week and pushing my yearly most wanted list and #1 back to next week. This should also give time for some other guys including Sirmons to hopefully get caught so I don't need to include them on the list next week. Also it fits since it will coincidence with the 7-year anniversary of the forum.
