Working on a newsletter for our forum for e-mail updates on such, that way even if people don't log on or something they can still stay up to date. If you don't want me to "spam" you, let me know and I won't include your e-mail.

Ok, newsletter sent, but please just reply with unsubscribe or let me know here if you don't want to receive it rather than cussing at me. (Which thankful hasn't happened yet but usually does in cases like this lol).

Thanks! I also hit bcc so no one would see each other's e-mails, which I hope worked.

Machete- I don't know where else to contact you since you don't give your e-mail but if you come across this, I can't remove captured fugitives since people still like to read about who gets captured. I also don't have a definitive list of who the Justice Network recovers or captures since they don't have a list of EVERY recovery or capture on their website. I'm forever grateful to you for the master list and I consider that your contribution to the site. Let's sit back and relax on any other forum suggestions as I have a sense now of what I want to do with the site and what's best for the site. Trust I know what I'm doing going forward. Happy new year!

Deleting forum accounts for inactivity. Sorry but if you registered over a year ago and never made one single post then I'd like to see you register again to make sure you actually want to be a member and belong on this site. Sometimes people register and never make a post and never bother to log in and I really don't know what that's about. Sucks since our overall member number won't look as good now but I want to make sure everyone belongs here. So in case you're lurking, log in soon or you'll have to re-register again.

Dear potential registrants,
I have been on the record saying how despite me being the admin of a crime forum I believe marijuana should be legalized, however, when you register with screen names like "TokerDude" or "Ilove420" or "PotRules" or whatever, without explaining why you're registering, it is an automatic rejection since I have no idea what your motive for posting here is with that kind of screen name that has nothing to do with fugitive crime shows.
(For the record, I actually have approved people in the past with those kind of screen names since they explained in the registration message explaining why they want to join or the screen name google search turned up they were actually seemingly normal people- but when you give me a blank registration with that name- yeah, not good. I don't care that you love pot. I do care about your screen name for screening purposes though.)

Thinking of making an "Upcoming in Season 3" thread even though we don't have a return date yet since The Hunt has officially been renewed and we have some idea of *possible* cases. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up since I don't want people getting overly excited if they see that thread title.

I understand everyone's been busy lately but I feel the forum's been kind of dead lately. If anyone can make time to contribute I'd appreciate it. We're a well read forum, and I do enough social media and internet searches to know we're a lot more popular than our board activity suggests, we have stories of ours being shared all over Facebook and/or discussed all over Reddit but I hate that isn't reflected on the site itself lately. Granted, board activity fluctuates. Some months we're very active and some we're not, but lately it's been dead. It's not anyone's fault and I'm not mad at anyone, but it is frustrating when the activity doesn't match our actual popularity. So lately we've been a widely read forum, but a not widely active forum and I'd like to change that.

P.S. I blame part of the problem on Unsolved Mysteries fans just doing a better overall job than AMW fans of making sure cases are preserved. Us here still love AMW and reflect and discuss The Hunt in the summer, but for some reason AMW fans abandoned the show after cancellation despite their protests, and some Hunt fans abandon the show until it comes back in the summer. If AMW still had a running website or was in reruns like Unsolved Mysteries, maybe things would be different, but for some reason UM fans are more dedicated. (The exception being the AMW fans on this forum I stress lol).

I find it ironic that of course naturally I require there to be some sort of proof like a news report that a fugitive is captured instead of just taking a person's word for it, yet I've now seen two cases where a news report of a capture was inaccurate, and two people who had no proof later turned out to be telling the truth. If it's in a news report, I consider it legitimate, and all I can do is say I can't help it if every now and then they get it wrong since news agencies are *supposed* to be credible. Thank goodness I saw that news article about Robert Fisher's capture after the fact LOL.

One thing I noticed if anyone at any point decides to change their screen name, then their display name will change, however, your profile name is permanent. So for some reason if you're viewing this site on the proboards cell phone app as opposed to the laptop, then the profile name will display as opposed to the screen name. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way to fix that, but at least *most* people will see the new screen name instead.

We recently made our 3,000th thread on this forum! The "official" count on the site is lower due to thread deletions for various reasons (when we deleted exclusive captures, missing children recovered, etc.) But still 3,000 overall created!

Wonderful milestone! Perhaps we would have reached it sooner if The Hunt aired more often and more people as a result would be actively posting. We can hope for the future of course.
