Justice has been served!!! It was great to have this trail streaming, every case should have this option... These monsters that commit these crimes should have to be viewed by their peers... It just enhances overall awareness

Although I’m morally opposed to the death penalty, but I agree with Yaser Said getting life in prison because he’ll suffer in the mental anguish of having to deal with the day to day routine of being in prison, especially more so that he’s only getting in at age 65.
Sarah and Amina finally got the justice they deserve even though it’s been a long wait, it finally happened. This doesn’t bring back Sarah and Amina, but it gives closure to the murders. The sisters endured a life of hell with having a father like Yaser Said, in a way they were doomed from the start. Yaser was extremely controlling and intrusive in their day to day lives and Yaser wasn’t able to let 2 teen girls be able to flourish and think for themselves. That’s why life in prison is appropriate because in the same way Yaser said made Sarah and Amina’s life a prison while they were still alive, I think Yaser needs a taste of his own medicine for the rest of his own life.

It’s only fitting that Yaser was handed a life sentence by a woman, when he treated them in a repugnant manner for years and years. He also glared at Patricia Owens and the aunt of the girls and was visibly angry at them during their impact statements. It’s nice seeing that Yaser was at the mercy of those women and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it. I wanted Yaser to just f***ing die when he was on the run and then I hoped for the death penalty when he was caught but I agree with everyone this is a much worse fate for Yaser. Not only does he not get to die a martyr, but now the prison guards will be in control of him, and tell him what he can or can't do. Hopefully, they assign him female prison guards.

Now that all is said and I done, I will say I'm still amazed Yaser never fled the U.S. to go back to Egypt. Highly unlikely he would have been sent back if he had. I'm just glad he didn't and that justice was served here.

It's because Yaser was a huge hypocrite who became assimilated to and enjoyed American culture, just when it came to his daughters suddenly they didn't embrace their heritage enough for him.

Question: does someone know the reason why the State of Texas didn’t go for the death penalty?

Question: does someone know the reason why the State of Texas didn’t go for the death penalty? I can only tell you what was said on the Trial Podcast that aired during recesses. It had something to do with the County not being pro Death Penalty. I guess in Dallas County there have been very few Death Penalty cases so a jury doesn't sway from a conviction. If there was ever a Death Penalty case this would have been the one.

Wanted to mention that Dallas County has transferred it’s filed criminal cases to a traditional Odyssey court records system. With that in mind, I checked Said’s felony case and found out he actually had the nerve to file an appeal to his verdict last December. This obviously won’t help Said but I felt the members here should be aware of this. courtsportal.dallascounty.org/DALLASPROD/Home/WorkspaceMode?p=0

I've seen my share of delusional defendants, but this guy really takes the cake. Dude, you were literally caught on tape/recording.
