Sorry, for some reason I didn't see this until just now. I was just thinking the other day about how frustrated I was that Said is yet to be caught.

Sorry, for some reason I didn't see this until just now. I was just thinking the other day about how frustrated I was that Said is yet to be caught. Nearly 11 years on the run, I feel Said would fall similarly like Eduardo Ravelo, Yaser Said is just living in Egypt in a residence, staying with relatives and not coming out, or he is likely being protected by some people who are aware of what he did and law enforcement may not want to touch him based on the backlash they’ll receive if arrested. Also another thing, Yaser Said is a known smoker and he’s in his 60s now, that really isn’t a good combination, there are some people that are 60 and smoke but let’s be real for a sec.

Today is the 12th anniversary of the murders of Sarah and Amina.

January 1st of every year is always a sad reminder. While I never want to forget Sarah and Amina and want to still remember them every year on this day even if Yaser is ever caught, I do hope for the day where we can remember them and know justice finally prevailed as well.

I have a very serious question, a few years back the Yaser Said’s sister’s Daughter, Imam Almetnawy was reportedly recovered, Is she back in the United States? Or is she still in Egypt? She could be very useful in tracking down Yaser Said and her mother Ghada Said, in reality she’s possibly the only individual that would be helpful if Yaser is in Egypt.
A little detective work on Facebook could probably solve this case once and for all.

If you look up Ghada Said on Facebook, there's a few that look like her, especially one with photos of children but I can't say for sure. Ghada is possibly living in plain sight in Egypt with no chance of being extr as far as I can tell, regardless of what happens or has happened with the children, but Yaser is another unknown variable at the moment.

Wow, I was not expecting this! Hopefully we get more information tomorrow, especially as to whether he was in Texas this whole time or if he fled but returned to state.
Finally justice can be served in memory of Sarah & Anima Said!
Scumhunter is going to be so relieved that the FBI finally caught Yaser!

Yaaayyy Yaser Said has been captured today is such a great day ☺️☺️ and he was taken into custody in Justin, Texas according to the bureau.
According to a press conference by the Irving PD, they’ve charged 2 relatives of Said’s for harboring him.

I just watched the press conference and from what they said, Yaser’s son Islam and his brother Yasim are both charged with harboring Yaser, and the capture pretty much came down with good old fashion police work.
Justin is about 34 miles, which is less than an hours drive from Irving. Investigators are trying to puzzle together where else Yaser May have been in the last 12 years, and are trying to figure out how long he’d been in Justin, TX.

I'll have a lot more to say later (or maybe that's it for now as most of what I have to do now is site-related as far as our wanted lists and such) but I'm sure my reaction was the same as most of you- double checking five or six times to make sure I read right and that he was actually captured! Also hate to say i told you so but I like passionately argued for Said to be added to the top ten list for like six years- and it finally worked out. Interesting thing is- in The Price of Honor documentary- one of the people working on the film- did mention seeing him in potentially in Texas- so they deserve kudos as I think they were the ones who most believed he could be hiding in plain sight- assuming he was this whole time and not in Egypt. But yeah it's a mixture of still bittersweetness because it won't bring Sarah and Amina back, but relief and tears of joy that justice will hopefully finally be served.

Just so everyone is aware: Since he was captured in Texas, he is very much eligible for the death penalty (I'm not a big fan of it, but my guess is a lot of people won't lose a wink of sleep if he is put to death).
It astonishes me that he was only 40 minutes away. I feared he was long gone over in Egypt or at best, somewhere in NY or the East Coast. What I am guessing is the FBI probably noticed some suspicious behavior with his relatives. I doubt one of his relatives tipped off the police simply because they were harboring him. The proximity also leads me to wonder if the girls' mother knew anything.

I have an idea of what may happen: They may offer to drop the charges against the two if they provide evidence and/or testimony that he admitted to the murders.
