It wouldn't be impossible to find Yaser Said in Egypt I agree, but it may be around the level of difficulty that's happening with the ongoing Dan Hiers "extradition process" going on in China. One other example I would like to bring up is Dr. Mohamed Ali. In 1992, AMW profiled the doctor who was wanted for rape out of Tennessee. He was located in Cairo, Egypt and AMW helped extradite him, making him Direct Capture #229.

Shockingly enough, Yaser has now hit the 4 year mark as a Top Ten Fugitive. Out of all the additions from the 2010s only Fidel Urbina (Captured in México in September 2016), and William Bradford Bishop (Removed from the List in June 2018) have lasted just as long, so we’ll see if his 4th year is the charm.

So frustrating to me they haven't caught him yet since unlike other fugitives on the list, he's not that smart a person (he is no Derek Brown or even Robert Fisher in level of intelligence), but unfortunately if you're in a country where you can't be extradited, or you have a family that goes out of their way to hide you, it doesn't matter how smart or dumb you are. That is if he's in Egypt.

I’m leaning more towards his family is hiding him, since I doubt he’s smart enough to keep a run going this long, and I don’t think Egypt will refuse to extradite since “Honor Killings” are a crime there too, and they’ve extradited fugitives before (most recently in 2011 or 2012 I don’t remember off the top of my head).

I dunno, that photo, albeit a private eye's blog, looked a lot like Yaser.
I hope he's still in the U.S., as it makes a capture more likely, but my mind's changed to more likely in Egypt.
They HAVE extradited fugitives before, but it seems it takes a while to get them to do so when they do.

Our new forum-wide Public Enemy #1 has now been at large for 11 years, and so have fellow multi-murderers Fernando Palomino and Eric Secundino. I hope our spike in huge-name captures in '018 can be followed up with solving these cases!

I know one possible lead is Yaser working as a taxi driver in NYC but was thinking maybe the FBI should do a new publicity blitz emphasizing Yaser possible working for Uber or Lyft or a similar rideshare service and looking out for that as well. Uber currently doesn't do fingerprinting background checks and in my opinion it would be pretty easy for Yaser to get around possibly using a relative's vehicle/registration on an app as himself (this isn't meant to sound racist, but there is a probably a relative that can look similar enough to Yaser that you can't really tell the difference in a driver photo).
This is assuming Yaser isn't already believed/confirmed to be in Egypt in the FBI (as the photo on the Bill Warner blog did look pretty convincing, regardless of what you think about Bill Warner) which would make this Uber suggestion a moot point.

I think Uber is a possibility. Whatever he’s up to, he has managed to avoid a lot of attention. My guess is that he’s currently handling a job where he’s paid under the table, so to speak.

I found what unfortunately turned out to be a false hope status update (actually debatable whether it would have been good news or not) that a body was picked up from a Texas hopsital by Yaser's family last fall thought to possibly be Yaser- but it turned out to be another member of the Said family. www.facebook.com/ripaminaandsarahsaid/Kinda torn how I'd feel if it ever happened for real since Yaser did seem to have and probably still has some unhealthy vices and can possibly pass away while on the run- but it would also mean he got away with it. So I'd still like to see him taken alive and I only want to see him die if it's a slow and torturous death.

A slow and torturous death for Yaser Abdel Said would mean he can't commit any more sex crimes against teenage girls ever again. The media usually frames his crimes as an honor killing, and his sick perversions with children always end up as an elephant in the room. If he's still alive, I'm afraid he might kill again once his next theoretical victim's family catches onto him.

Question: do we know if Yaser smokes Marlboro 100s frequently or just on a social smoker sort-of basis? At his age, he could be potentially dealing with health problems on the run if he smoked heavily.

Good question, he smokes and drinks it seems (and enjoys hookah as well), but we don't know how often he does that. He does strike me as a guy who might not be in the best of health currently though. So I do feel there is a certain amount of time to catch him while he's still out there out, unfortunately time could possibly be running out.

Here’s the travel advisory for Egypt as it pertains to where Yaser Said would have an easier to live if in Egypt. Exercise increased caution in Egypt due to terrorism. Some areas have increased risk. Read the entire Travel Advisory. Do not travel to: The Sinai Peninsula (with the exception of travel to Sharm El-Sheikh by air) due to terrorism. The Western Desert due to terrorism. Egyptian border areas due to military zones. Terrorist groups continue plotting attacks in Egypt. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, and have targeted diplomatic facilities, tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets/shopping malls, western businesses, restaurants, resorts, and local government facilities. Terrorists have conducted attacks in urban areas, including in Cairo, despite the heavy security presence. Terrorists have targeted religious sites, to include mosques, churches, monasteries, and buses traveling to these locations. Due to risks to civil aviation operating within or in the vicinity of Egypt, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) and/or a Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR). For more information U.S. citizens should consult the Federal Aviation Administration’s Prohibitions, Restrictions and Notices. Read the Safety and Security section on the country information page. If you decide to travel to Egypt: Stay alert in locations frequented by Westerners. Avoid demonstrations and crowds. Obtain comprehensive medical insurance that includes medical evacuation. Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency. Follow the Department of State on Twitter and Facebook and Instagram. Review the Crime and Safety Report for Egypt. U.S. citizens who travel abroad should always have a contingency plan for emergency situations. Review the Traveler’s Checklist. Sinai Peninsula The Sinai Peninsula remains a particularly dangerous area, with frequent attacks on security forces and civilians. The U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens anywhere in the Sinai Peninsula as U.S. government employees are not authorized to travel to these areas (with the exception of the beach resort of Sharm El-Sheikh; travel to Sharm El-Sheikh is only permitted by air). travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/egypt-travel-advisory.html

Unfortunately yesterday Said broke the FBI Top Ten record of the 2010s and has now become the longest running fugitive of this decade at 5 years, surpassing Fidel Urbina & Brad Bishop.
