Now that I think about it, does the FBI always make the new top addition the case of the week as well? It's possible I was close to being right, just off by a day or two if they add someone today or tomorrow even if they're not COTW lol. In the case of Arnoldo Jimenez and Jose Villarreal Hernandez, No, but they have made Brad Bishop, Caro-Quintero, Greg Alyn Carlson and Eugene Palmer, Case of the Week, but most of those guys that became cases of the week were added on a Thursday with the exception of Palmer being added on a Wednesday and became case of the week the following day.

Ah ok so not likely but not impossible, to quote Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber "so you're saying there's a chance" lol.

Yup there’s a good chance that if someone gets added to the Top 10 List today that they’ll be case of the week. Just some food for thought…..Devontay Anderson hasn’t been made case of the week yet since he’s been added to the FBI website.

Well Darrell Deschene became case of the week on Wednesday of last week, so tomorrow we’ll be keeping close tabs on the site to see if there’s going to be a new addition.
Honestly if an addition is not made by the end of the month, I’m going to speculate that the FBI will likely keep Yaser Said listed as captured for more than a year until someone else gets caught, or the highly unlikely possibility that he’ll be kept on the list until his trial is finished in a few years.
There’s just so much behind keeping Yaser on the list, like the FBI tied up in the January 6th incident and which explains why Yaser hasn’t been replaced, also he is the biggest capture since Whitey Bulger in 2011 and are keeping him on the list for publicity reasons to flaunt him as captured.
Even with Yaser listed as captured, the FBI hasn’t captured anyone so far in 2021, but I’m not complaining because the list isn’t a crapshoot like it was at the height of 2015, but the FBI did a great job picking genuinely difficult fugitive cases, which is why I don’t have a problem with how the list is now.
As to who could replace Yaser Said… I really don’t know at this point, but it would be appropriate to replace him with a Child Predator only because when he and Bishop made the list in 2014 the FBI stopped adding CAC fugitives to the list.

Yeah I happened to notice they didn't do a new case of the week, I was hoping that meant a Pacific Standard Time addition to the list but no dice lol. I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.
But yeah I think you hit the nail on the head as to why there's been no new additions yet. The only thing I'll add is there is a new Justice Department even though there is the same FBI director.

And it's Catoctin Mountain Jane Doe as new case of the week, which I had a hunch it would be. Taking nothing away from that tragic case, but as much as I told everyone to be patient, even I'm getting annoyed they haven't added anyone new yet now that the Yaser Said aiding and abetting cases are over.

I’m annoyed too, and now since you mentioned the aiding and abetting cases for Dumb and Dumber are through it’s like they can add someone else… there won’t be publicity on Yaser Said until he himself goes to trial anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 years from now, but something tells me the FBI could keep him on that long (if nobody else on the list gets caught).

Going to throw out a wild card candidate in Kashawn Roper, currently only a seeking law enforcement assistance fugitive but if there is a federal warrant out there, she's wanted out of Kansas City Missouri for a drive-by shooting that killed a beloved mother of three children. You can tell the FBI really wants to catch her too because they put billboards all over the city. It's been a few years since the FBI added a female fugitive to the list, and I'm not a psychic but part of me for some reason feels it may be time for that to happen again, and someone like Roper fits the bill of being both dangerous and catchable. The U.S. Marshals have joined the search for Roper so perhaps she may be more of a potential candidate for the USMS Top 15 instead. I guess we'll find out.

With the unfortunate news that the case against Jesus Munguia was possibly dismissed, can we recall the last time a captured top tenner had their charges dropped and/or was found not guilty by a jury? I know it's happened but rarely.

The last time this happened was the Hammond Brothers who were added to the list in 1985 for the for the killing of 5 people and wounding of a 6th in Kansas City, Missouri in 1980. Both their federal processes were dismissed in 1986, but I’m not sure if they were caught or even tried. apnews.com/article/c073e02a3d6235e8374731433286f005

When was the last time that it took this LONG to add a NEW dirt bag to the Top Ten? I mean it feels like it's been like forever. I actually think that way back when Bin Laden was shot and killed his mug shot was still on the Top 10 List labeled 'Deceased' right up until Bulger was nabbed in California.
I mean let's just put it like this.... Sometimes when the mail is running late I always think that it's because the mail carrier has both thumbs up his ass and/or is actually taking a nap in his mail truck somewhere private and out of public view. Are there any people here who feel the same way as I do that the reason the the FBI is taking such a long time to add a NEW Top 10er is because they have both their thumbs up their asses or are actually just being lazy cause they can't decide as to who to add?

With all due respect canineunit89, it seems often you are quick to post your thoughts or ask a question without actually reading these threads that have answered your questions or discussed your thoughts about a thousand times- and it's not like you had to comb through these threads as these have been recent discussions in the replies as well- We have posted multiple times on here and in this thread that this is the longest the FBI has taken since they had to replace Whitey Bulger/Osama Bin Laden. We have also posted theories- once again not to sound condescending but if you actually read the discussions in this thread as we've also discussed this about a thousand times as well!- and in very recent replies as well!- as to what's taken so long- but I'll summarize it anyway: 1. The last time the FBI was taking so long, they were replacing their arguably biggest captures of the century- it Yaser Said is the biggest capture since them. While it would be nice to have a new addition, there is also something comforting about seeing "captured" stamped over Said's face, so it's possible they want to milk their success for as long as possible/brag about capturing Said and show that captured stamp for as long as possible. 2. There were aiding and abetting cases with Yaser's relatives that just wrapped up. It is possible they wanted to wait to take care of those cases before adding a new top tenner. 3. There is a new justice department that oversees the FBI with a new Presidency that is settling in. 4. The FBI is busy with the Capitol riot investigation and that is their main focus right now. Finally, the way the list traditionally works is all the field offices from all the different cities submit a candidate to the FBI for consideration. From there, a publicity panel selects the case they feel is best for the list, so it's possible that process is still happening. Is it possible they just have their thumbs up their tuches? Perhaps. But there's plenty of other theories- which once again we've discussed in previous recent replies - as to what's taking so long.

Another theory is due to COVID having gone through the second wave when Yaser Said was listed as captured in the first few months. Jose “El Gato” Villarreal-Hernandez was a state department case, so likely they didn’t need to go through the FBI publicity panel due to the possibility at the time of being exposed to COVID. The process of selecting Top Ten fugitives may have begun within the last few months or may not have begun at all, so that’s another thing to consider.
