Fugitive Profile as of April 29th, 2015 (based on original FBI.gov wanted poster, FBI Top 10 list status: Alias: Bhadreshkumar C. Patel Date(s) of Birth Used: May 15, 1990 (24 years old) Place of Birth: Kantrodi Ta Viramgam, Gujarat, India Height: 5'9" Weight: 165 pounds Occupation: Employee of donut shop Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Sex: Male Nationality: Indian TIPS: If you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online to the FBI at tips.fbi.govThere is a $20,000 reward being offered by the FBI for the apprehension of Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel. Bhadreshkumar Patel is wanted for allegedly killing his wife Palak Patel while they were both working at a Dunkin Donuts' shop in Hanover, Maryland. According to various media reports, he allegedly beat and/or stabbed his wife multiple times with a sharp object and then fled the scene. The murder happened on April 12th, 2015. A local arrest warrant was issued in the District Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County on April 13, 2015, and Patel was charged with first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure. A federal arrest warrant was issued in the United States District Court, District of Maryland, Baltimore, Maryland, on April 20, 2015, after Patel was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Shortly after the incident the authorities developed information that led them to Newark, New Jersey, where a taxi driver says she drove him. This seemed to be confirmed after Patel was seen on surveillance footage at a Best Western near Newark International Airport the day after he allegedly murdered his wife. Patel is believe to still have his India-issued passport with him, however, it investigators believe he is likely still in the states for a few reasons. They have no evidence that he boarded a plane and the FBI put a hold on Patel’s passport, preventing him from crossing the border. Patel was born in India and was in the United States legally on a visa, but his visa expired at the end of March, according to the FBI. Thoughts? If Patel is unable to flee the country, I can see him hiding out in New York City. Although I do find it interesting Interpol is now involved. He could have somehow had a fake ID or passport, or somehow got a flight out the country in the limited window of opportunity he had. www.fbi.gov/wanted/murders/bhadreshkumar-chetanbhai-patel/viewwww.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3052615/FBI-joins-hunt-Bhadreshkumar-Chetanbhai-Patel-believed-beat-wife-death-kitchen-knife-inside-Dunkin-Donuts-worked.htmlwww.nydailynews.com/news/crime/md-fugitive-wanted-wife-killing-nyc-fbi-article-1.2197112wtop.com/anne-arundel-county/2015/04/interpol-asked-to-find-man-charged-for-doughnut-shop-killing/UPDATE: On Tuesday, April 18th, 2017, Bhadreshkumar Patel was added to the FBI's Top 10 list: www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten/bhadreshkumar-chetanbhai-patelAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

Credit to the FBI for getting involved in this breaking news manhunt quickly just in case Patel is somehow able to flee the US. There are Indian communities in the US that he could try to hide out in though.

Moved this case to the fugitives on tv section since "Crime Watch Daily" did a segment on Patel today. They say his wife had called her mother in India minutes before her brutal murder so that may have been what set off Bhadreshkumar. They also show the surveillance video right before what happened. They also say the cab driver who drove Bhadreshkumar from Maryland to Newark, New Jersey described him as "extremely calm." Authorities still believe with so many restrictions that Patel is still in the U.S. I still maintain he had a window, although a very limited window, to leave the country. In any case, in my opinion, he is either in the New York City area or New Jersey (where his family is) if he didn't flee the country. I feel he is in the NYC area as well, and it all depends on how quickly authorities worked to put him on the no fly list which would make everything better because him still being a very recent case and possibly being in the states should make him an easy capture IMO.

Somewhat off-topic but I agree with what you said on the other thread about Patel being a contender for the top 10 list on the FBI contender list. He's a recent fugitive for the Myloh Mason spot, there's a decent sense as to his possible whereabouts, and the FBI obviously seems to really want to catch him with the media on him. (While I have no idea if The Hunt with profile him, I feel it's a perfect case for The Hunt as well. They have an international bent- so in the U.S. or not it's an angle to play with).
My thoughts are if he's in the NY/NJ area, what is he doing. Is he somehow still working at a Dunkin Donuts or a similar type of convenience store. He'd need to have some sort of phony identification, or perhaps a family member could somehow help him in that regard. (I still maintain if he can get phony ID, then he can get a phony passport, but that's besides the point).
I think if there was just a little more exposure, thanks to Crime Watch Daily, there has been, but with The Hunt or another show as well, someone in NY or NJ might recognize him. I feel he's laying low working in some type of store right now, NY area or elsewhere, so no one's really noticing him.

Yes I mean he would be the one that stands out amongst the other FBI website fugitives to be placed on the Top Ten list, though IMO it would be nice to see David Durham or Daniel San Diego end up on there I feel the FBI will focus on the more recent cases, so Patel fits the bill perfectly and Seeing that video I'm convinced he will be the 506th fugitive, The guy more than likely isn't in India and he took a Train and disappeared so I'm assuming he's in the states. Patel in the states and him being added to the top ten list should make for an easy capture and the much needed publicity in this case, in a way the top ten fugitives are more focused on than the other FBI site fugitives unless I maybe wrong... However with his family possibly helping him this kinda reminds me of Yaser Said in a way. And he does seem a likely possibility because they increased the reward to $20,000 a while back, but hear this out I feel in his case if added he needs an increased reward of $150,000 which gives the public more of an incentive and more pressure on the fugitive in a way, and bring Patel to justice.

Okay so April 12, will be the 1 year anniversary if he's not caught. I strongly believe he will replace Brenda Delgado rather quickly, probably next week since that's when the crimes anniversary will be. Now Bhadreshkumar Patel is likely still in the states as I've said and he's going to be the easiest capture, he fits the bill perfectly for a top ten fugitive because he killed his own wife, he fled across state lines and he is impossible to locate.

One thing that I learned in world history classe is that in Indian culture a lot of these marriages are basically arranged.
Now the problem I may see is That he probably felt like he could control her and was the boss of her and that he wanted to stay in the U.S., even working at a donut shop in the United States makes Patel feel the money made in the US is better than in India.
So in many ways you can see that the problem may have been rooted in a cultural thing such as an arranged marriage. Now it seems more like Yaser Said but where as the Chetanbhai Patel wanted to stay in the US, Yaser didn't want his daughters exposing themselves to the American culture and customs.

I'm quite happy he'll be a season 4 case, he's been on the run for about a year and a half so he's not the easiest but also not the hardest to find.
Now as much as I want him added to the Top 10 list, personally I'd feel a lot more comfortable if a pre-2015 fugitive gets captured and he replaces that fugitive so the list doesn't lock up like it did in December 2014.
I'm shocked Patel has managed to stay out as long as he has especially when the FBI got involved early on.

If he somehow managed to get to India it's not that shocking. That is the million dollar question right now though, if he's still on the states or fled there.
Take a guy's passport or whatever may help him escape away, criminals are criminals because they find ways of getting around laws. What's not to say he didn't get a passport, fake ID under an alias, and then get to India.

That's true, there are identity brokers that he may have turned to to acquire false documentation and made it back over to India, however he's a young guy still and not that bright IMO

I have no idea, just because he worked at a donut shop doesn't mean he wasn't a bright person. He was relatively young and could have only been working there to save money for schooling or whatever... but since he chose to allegedly murder his wife there's no hope for a better life now, only a life on the run.
India has been getting better lately at cooperating with American authorities but it's still a large mountainous region and easy to blend in and hide.
I would agree though that regardless of how bright he is, he's been more lucky than smart because it seems authorities just missed him that day he drove to Newark.

The fact that he is lucky is because he has a common look to him that gives him the ability to hide in plain sight.
