So after watching this episode (which as I mentioned in the season 3 discussion thread was heartbreaking but a very well produced and detailed show), I guess the big question is where did Jennifer Puente escape to. Does anyone know if she's a Mexican native or just of Mexican descent? The reason why I ask is because if she's in Mexico, it usually takes a little bit longer to find them if they're natives. Mexico has gotten much better at arresting fugitives more quickly often if they're in their country illegally.
Obviously the best hope is that Puente is still in the U.S. in a border town in Texas where we don't need to worry about extradition just get her immediately.
My big question is what did she do when she fled the hotel in Grand Prairie, Texas after possibly seeing her accomplice get arrested a block away, leaving her wallet, I.D., etc. behind. My theory is that she tried to hitchhike her way to a friend or family's place back in Ennis to get more cash/strategize what to do next (which would have been risky but she could have done so if she was in and out quickly). But she would have initially ridden with a stranger. Is it possible she could have been harmed/killed herself if she got into the wrong car? Would serve her right, and I admittedly doubt it based on the authorities on the show discussing varying leads and getting close but no cigar to her but I thought I'd throw it out there since I feel she might have initially tried to hitchhike to some safe place with little or no cash.

At some point they showed a wanted poster for Jennifer that referenced her hometown as Laredo, Texas. So it sounds like she was born in the US and not across the border in Mexico which would make extradition much easier.

Yeah I mean she could have just hitchhiked there but I feel that since the crowd she hung out were as wild as her and her friends didn't seem like the type to do the right thing she might have tried to go back to Ennis initially. I really hate to debunk my own theory but now that I think about it why wouldn't she try to harass her ex-boyfriend as well while she's there but then again she knew he'd turn her in if he saw her. (This is the one time where we absolutely know the known boyfriend/ex-boyfriend is not helping her currently since one's in jail and the other she threatened to kill- although my assumption is she likely has a new boyfriend by now).

For what it's worth I found Jennifer Puente's Facebook page (she spells her name Jennifer Puentes on there). Obviously no updates since 2012 but it's worth noting one post talks about how she received a new phone but the only two people she trusted to give her number to were a male friend and her "right hand bitch" Mia. And then she allegedly kills her and sets her body on fire a month later... www.facebook.com/jennifer.puentes.564

I checked out her Facebook and here's my take:,
Jennifer puente from her Facebook image seems like someone you wouldn't wanna mess with compared to her forum photo she looks like a young girl that seemed troubled.
But the way this girl talks is unfortunately the normal for many High School aged kids, and it seemed like she was losing friends and raised her real friends up and claiming there are too many fake friends. Now this is the type of person I wouldn't want coming home to dinner buddy.

I'm beginning to wonder what she's doing at this moment. Could she be with drug traffickers? Could she be hiding out all alone, perhaps she's with someone keeping her company either not knowing or knowing who she is. I know it may be a few weeks to perhaps a few years before she can be caught but the best thing that can happen with this case is if she's caught or Federal authorities move in and take over the manhunt.

Puente has been aired on a national crime show which works with the U.S. Marshals, so there is already a federal agency that will arrest her if they get the tip. The only additional thing is if the Marshals add her to the top 15 list.
We've already theorized Puente could have joined a cartel.
With her lifestyle, anything is possible.

Okay then even better knowing the Marshals are involved... Perhaps they can fill up one of the remaining spots with her which would be great for everyone in an effort to flush her out. Puente I'm beginning to wonder that it'll take time to nab her, it could take a few months like Paul Jackson or it could take 2 years like Chris Ponce, unfortunately Puente ruined her life by making stupid choices and it'll be a life behind bars, she is living her life but it's a life that will make her constantly look over her shoulders, she will never live the real life of having a job and going to school and doing X Y and Z as a normal citizen. Violence and having a thuggish mentality wasn't the best path for Puente, she was too far gone and all the drug abuse did was ruin her, Moriah never had a chance to turn 18, she never had a chance to graduate and this case examines how some teens can be cruel and horrific if they get to Jennifer Puente's level, it's a tragedy on both sides especially when the victim and Murder Suspect are teens

this case is another one I'd like to see solved this year. I'm glad The Hunt did the segment on her last year, and all we do now is play the waiting game. Almost going 5 years and it's getting to be too long.

I agree, I think her days as a wanted fugitive might be over because someone will spotted her and contact the authorities to have here arrest., I think she will get captured by the viewers of the Hunt.

With Jennifer Puente, I do not see her going very far from where the crime occurred. I have to agree with the theories of her living in Mexico or traveling back and forth between Texas and Mexico. I could see her living in New Mexico and blending into an Hispanic society over there. I could also see her living in Central or South America being part of a gang there. I do not know though. All I am saying is that she does not seem like the one to travel super far because she seems like someone with very limited resources and not a lot of education/intelligence. I will also say that I believe that her time is running very short too because of my reasons I listed before.

Of all the fugitives from season 3 she might be the one I'm most surprised hasn't been caught yet. Hopefully that status soon changes.

I checked and Ellis County in Texas does not have a public court records page or warrants search that I could locate. However, as of today, May 29, 2019, it seems that Jennifer Puente is still at large since there's been no publicity since The Hunt airing. When Jennifer does get captured (I doubt she'll stay on the run forever personally), I suspect we will hear about it through the media due to significant local attention as well as being featured on a CNN Original Series episode.

Yeah I feel this is a case where we'd definitely know if she was ever caught. But just in case, another way of tracking any updates would be following the Moriah Gonzales Foundation Facebook page which I'm sure would update. I can't believe she's still at large and can't wait for the day that status changes. m.facebook.com/moriahgonzalesfoundation/

This case just crossed my mind again, and I was thinking, with all the hype about the FBI planning to add more female fugitives to the list back in '016, that this one would fit best with some of the other similarly grisly murders on the list since around that time. Anyone think the publicity could reheat this case enough to solve it when a vacancy or two clears up?
