(Above photo credit: valleycentral.com) On March 17th, 2012, a burning body was found along Knighthurst Drive in Ennis, Texas. Police later identified the victim as 15-year old Moriah Gonzales and stated that she had been murdered. A week later, a suspect, 29-year old Jose Manuel Alvarado was arrested and was later sentenced to 34 years in prison (too light if you ask me.) However, police also said there was an accomplice- Jennifer Samantha Puente, who was only 18 years old (she is now 21). Although police have not identified a specific motive- disturbing details have come out about Puente's alleged criminal intentions. In a custody hearing for her child, Puente's ex-boyfriend testified that he "believed she wanted to join a gang and kill people and burn their bodies." One local news station says there was a potential "hit list" and Puente had been planning to murder several subjects. Her ex-boyfriend believes he was also on that list. Despite a special alert by the Texas Department of Public Safety, and a Facebook group dedicated to getting justice for Moriah that I discovered while researching this case, Puente remains on the run. Texas DPS officials say Puente has ties to Grand Prairie, Arlington and Ennis, but also has family in Corsicana and El Cenizo just outside Laredo. In addition to the "FU Everybody" and “Baby John” tattoo mentioned in her wanted poster, DPS officials say she also has another tattoo of a pacifier on the bottom of her right arm. Thoughts? As much as I hate to to admit it as dangerous fugitives probably take pleasure in being called dangerous, I find Jennifer Puente to be one of the scariest female fugitives we've ever profiled, and that's with her being only 18 at the time of her alleged crime. Apparently, Moriah Gonzales is dead, and her body burned, because a bored teenager allegedly decided to join a gang and kill people. It's the ultimate definition of senselessness and callousness. We need to get justice for Moriah. I found some Facebook pages dedicated to getting justice for her as well so a lot of people obviously really want to see Puente caught. www.valleycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=763443#.VPxpsPzF-Sodfw.cbslocal.com/2012/06/08/ennis-police-still-searching-for-killer-who-burned-teens-body/victimsheartland.forumotion.com/t5241-police-say-burned-body-believed-to-be-missing-texas-girl-moriah-gonzalezwww.txdps.state.tx.us/director_staff/public_information/pr060712.htmwww.facebook.com/pages/In-Loving-Memory-Of-Moriah-Mia-Gee-/277666798974482www.facebook.com/moriahgonzalesfoundation?fref=tsUpdate: As of 7/19/2018, no recent articles can be found. Based on this and considering she was aired on The Hunt, I feel it is reasonably safe to assume that Puente is unfortunately still at large as of this update (7/19/2018). I am incredibly shocked that I have never heard of this case before, but when you take into account all the dangerous female fugitives on the site, Jennifer Puente would definitely rank amongst the top. What I want to know is that if she was so bored she ended up allegedly killing a 15-year old girl and joining a gang, what could be the dangerous results if she continues to be "bored" and flees to Mexico and joins a drug cartel?

Well, bored isn't the official motive released, it's just how I feel- for Puente to allegedly just one day up and decide she wanted to kill people- only an extremely bored- and callous- teenager would do something as horrible as that.
And you're right, in my opinion, anything is possible. I wouldn't be shocked if she joined a cartel. There's no telling what she can do. So I do want to stress anyone who knows where she is should definitely not approach her but should definitely call authorities or the anonymous crime stoppers number.

I understand now. Also why hasn't the Texas Department Of Public Safety added her to the state's 10 Most Wanted List yet? She would be a perfect addition to a list full of dangerous fugitives.

I agree. She definitely would make a great addition to the list. Another thing that stinks in this situation is her co-conspirator only got 34 years. I do hope if Puente is caught, considering the alleged planning and premeditation, that she receives a harsher sentence.

Whenever a suspect is believed to be in border towns in Texas I always think it's assumed they could be in Mexico- but yeah nothing wrong with putting that in official writing as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Puente was crossing back and forth.

Well the custody battle was already referred to in the original post but I didn't know about the other elements. Based on my family history I know mental illness is not a made up disease. Some accused use it as a made-up excuse and others actually have it. However, with the crime it depends on the circumstances. But this case isn't just Jennifer snapping. It was a deliberate alleged plan to murder a teenaged girl. Mental illness or not, that seems pretty calculated to me.
Also yeah the drug trafficking reinforces your theory and I think it's a solid one.

Honestly if you show a picture of this woman to anyone they'll say ohhh she's sooo cute but once you tell them what she did they'll be like never mind and that's what happened when I showed them a picture of her on the thread profile.
This is awful what she said and what she planned to do especially saying she wanted to join a gang, I guess she is one of the worst on this site and I'm shocked how none of the federal law enforcement agencies haven't taken ahold of this case.
In all honesty given her history she may have joined up with cartels, although we suspected this with Brenda Delgado, it was all bluff from her but this one may not seem to be lying.

I don't think it was ever proven Delgado was bluffing. But even if she had connections, she seemed to be living at a friend's house in Mexico and not using them.
I also don't think Puente ever claimed she wanted to join a cartel, just a gang. But because of her dangerous nature, me, HeadMarshal, 912th and you as well seem to think it's especially a possibility.

Without a doubt it's likely she would join gang since she's got a violent history.
Moriah the victim was too young to be taken off this earth too early and very brutally which is why I am in shock why Federal authorities (both the Marshals and the FBI) haven't taken ahold of this case, she would fit on the Marshals top 15 and FBI top 10 for sure if they ever get involved.
Hopefully The Hunt will do its thing to bring this one in. I suspect she's in Mexico living with a male companion or acquaintance.

CNN article now up- there's now some new and chilling details about the case and motive- apparently- according to her ex-boyfriend- Jennifer Puente had previously been talking about wanting to kill people and burn their bodies. And according to Joe Alvarado (the convicted accomplice), Puente was high on cocaine when she put a knife up to Moriah and asked "what was it you said about not being afraid to die?"- and that's apparently when she stabbed Moriah and killed her in a violent struggle. When Alvarado asked why she did, Puente told him "for the sense of power" Alvarado of course doesn't sound entirely innocent in this since he helped burned her body and his reply to if he wishes he intervened was "It is what it is. Everybody dies." This thread is now stickied to to the top of this section to prepare for this episode. I really hope this (censored for being as PG rated a forum as possible) gets caught next week. www.cnn.com/2016/08/24/us/the-hunt-with-john-walsh-jennifer-puente-moriah-gonzales-episode-302/index.html

A reminder that Jennifer Puente will be profiled on tonight's episode of The Hunt. She was predicted as Season 3's most likely direct capture by our forum readers so let's make that happen!
