It's unfortunate officers were hurt. Thankfully they all survived. I'd rather them not get injured at all even though they're all out of the hospital now but they heroically helped take down a child molester and are heroes now. I think promoting their bravery is just fine.

I found another Variety article that called the ratings from episode 1 a "Promising Start". When you average nearly a million viewers on a Sunday night on a news network (by the way I think that's more than Lifetime AMW ever had as much as I liked the show), a news network that had been suffering in the ratings for a few years, and also set a record for highest-rated debut for an original program ever on that network- I'd call that more than promising. I'd say that's AMAZING. So in summary, Variety has: -Given the first episode a negative review -Called "The Hunt"'s incredible debut numbers "promising" -Complained about CNN's coverage of the Charles Mozdir capture/shootout. I'm starting to wonder if Variety has a vendetta. Or if they're embarrassed a show they gave a negative review to is already successful in it's infancy. variety.com/2014/tv/news/bigger-big-brother-puts-cbs-on-top-in-weekly-demo-race-for-the-first-time-this-summer-1201262379/

I found the MSN Episode Guide which mentions the second half of season 1's order after this weekend's Dave Burgert/Chris Ponce program: August 10th- Episode 5- "Point Blank Murder"- Thayne Smika/Rick McLean August 17th- Episode 6- "Trafficking in Death"- Guillermo Madrigal Ballesteros (As I predicted, the whole hour is devoted to him, although the date is indeed the 17th after all) August 24th- Episode 7- "Preaching Lies"- Victor Barnard/Genevieve & Scott Kelley/Mary Nunes abduction August 31st- Episode 8- (Season Finale) "Justice Denied"- Jacob Wetterling/John & Julianne Dimitrion A bit surprised by some of the order as some cases I thought fit in better with others but still interesting. Also, I'm really hoping we get Dave Burgert and especially Chris Ponce tomorrow, but for some reason I get a feeling Thayne Smika may actually be catchable despite the passage of time. I'm not a psychic, but my premonitions have proven to be better than "actual" ones. tv.msn.com/tv/series-episodes/the-hunt-with-john-walsh.2/

A couple of comments about the remaining episodes. - Even though Genevieve Kelley is a wanted fugitive who kidnapped her daughter, her husband Scott Kelley shares the same amount of blame for the crime as well (only Genevieve is featured on The Hunt's site and mentioned in the episode bio). - I have a feeling that the Guillermo Ballesteros case may become political to some viewers due to the current debate over illegal immigration, so it will be interesting to see how CNN handles the case. - Finally I really hope people don't turn the last episode into a political argument because the Dimitrion's may have been assisted by "right-wing" extremists. AMW profiled fugitives with both left/right-wing extremist political ties so please no turning that episode into a political argument viewers.

Perhaps this should be discussed on the thread on the Dimitrions itself, but in my opinion they just used the extremists as a way of escaping to the U.S. , so I don't know how political it would make things.
Also, maybe I have too much faith in humanity sometimes, but I feel the general public will overall be sad to see 11 people trying to make a better life themselves wind up in a tragic train crash. I feel like the Ballesteros case SHOULD tug at the heartstrings rather than eliciting an anti-immigration response.

When AMW profiled Kelley in August 2007, the profile card featured Genevieve and Scott Kelley as well as Mary Nunes. Curiously, amw.com never gave Scott Kelley his own fugitive page, even though he was clearly profiled on the show and mentioned as being a wanted fugitive.

That is really weird because even the US Marshals have a separate wanted poster for Scott Kelley. www.usmarshals.gov/district/nh/fugitives/kelley_s.htm

So with Charles Mozdir AND Shane Miller both being dead now, does anyone remember this crazy a start to an AMW season? What a way to start. The Hunt's first season is turning into Breaking Bad.

I don't recall a crazier start to a John Walsh show's season. What's next, Bradford Bishop dies because of old age over in Europe and we get informed about it?

Haha. Tonight we have Dave Burgert where if he's tracked down has shot at law enforcement before (I really hope he's caught by surprise with no time to react and/or he chooses to go quietly this time.) and might be dead already. Then we have Chris Ponce, who based on his reckless driving record, might die in another drunk-driving crash himself or fleeing authorities (God willing he doesn't take anyone with him this time).

I said on this forum's Facebook page "Ponce and Burgert surrender now while you're still alive. Or IF you're still alive based on how this season is going."

Oh because I said I really wanted to do it, I commented on cnn.com pretending to be Paul Merhige and said that it was good you took the cowards way out, because otherwise, John Walsh and his viewers would have found you. It isn't illegal pretending to be a convicted murderer on an online commenting feature like cnn.com right, LOL.

Haha better than trolling. Although as much as I complain my favorite troll moment was during one of those CNN articles with of course bitter fighting and back and forth. A guy with the name Hodor (the oddball character from Game of Thrones), suddenly posted "Hodor!" Even the posters were LOL-ing!
P.S. I thought of a better analogy than Breaking Bad. This season is turning into the fugitive version of The Hunger Games!

John Walsh just posted a photo of The Hunt's hotline getting ready to take calls, and I saw a couple familiar faces in the picture. U.S. Marshal Mark Shealey, who was assigned to the AMW hotline, can be seen right in the middle of the photo. Behind him, I recognize Julie Catania (with the black curly hair) who was one of AMW's hotline operators. She was the one who took the tips that nabbed Pierre Domville and the Victors, among others. Good to see some AMW veterans have been brought back for The Hunt!
Also, I had to laugh because I thought that was John Walsh standing at the very back of the room in the photo, but then I realized it's actually Brad Bishop's age-enhanced bust! Haha, whoops!
