No prob. I still miss AMW a lot and not sure if I'll ever fully get ever them getting cancelled, but a new show with fugitives is always a good thing! As I said, figuring out this site going forward will be a tiny bit confusing, but it's a GREAT problem to have. P.S. This is really off-topic but I was watching Breaking Bad on Netflix (I finally gave in and subscribed) when I found out John Walsh announced this and also mentioned winning free tickets to Bryan Cranston's Broadway play if you support the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Kind of freaked me out a bit honestly.

I'm sorry that I never post! I've been following along still for since amw got taken down! I'm quite excited for the new show and I hope that there will also be a website made for it listing the fugitives and their cases!

What new cases does everyone want to see aired on the new show? Hopefully the three recent FBI/USMS Most Wanted additions, Shane Franklin Miller, Jose Guevara and Wesnel Isaac all get aired.
Looking through the recent non-amw fugitive subforum, there a ton of cases I could see getting profiles, including but not limited to, Javier Burgos, Shadia Muse, Angela Zuniga, Alfonso Diaz-Juarez and Jean Janiver.

It's probably too late to suggest it since I'm assuming he already filmed for it, but in my opinion, if I was producing the show, there would be no choice but Shane Miller for the first ever fugitive. You want to make a splash if your first capture is the first one you ever aired and David James Roberts and Alan White certainly fit the bill for them for the first two runs of AMW. Unfortunately no such luck with Margaret Smith during the Lifetime era but they did have a barrage of captures in January of 2012 when people finally started realizing they were no longer on Fox. Roberts and White felt like fate when they were captured.
Shane Miller would probably be the most difficult debut fugitive they've ever had to catch but stranger things have happened. He's another Robert Fisher and a USMS top 15-er. It would be huge.
I also think a few non-AMW will make it. Not to brag, but I think we both picked some great cases. We didn't select guys wanted for unpaid parking tickets. I mean those are some tough cases we picked in the non-AMW section. I am also curious to see if they will re-show AMW fugitives through a new angle (for instance, perhaps a news-oriented profile on Yaser Said as opposed to re-enactment based.)
I also saw a picture of David Rose, host of Washington's Most Wanted on John Walsh's original Facebook (pre-official) page about a month ago so I wouldn't be surprised if some WMW fugitives debut on CNN. And if that was the case, Eric Contreras is the type of fugitive made for AMW or AMW-esque shows.

I just realized Walsh's new show is said to have a more international bent to it. So I think we should take that into consideration. Still, you can just play up the angle that Shane Miller could possibly be in India in order to profile him.
The "World's Most Wanted" themed episodes they did on AMW still showed many American fugitives. For example, what is at the moment the last ever episode they ever aired on Fox- the 2-hour World's Most Wanted special- I believe Samantha Lewthwaite was the only truly international fugitive. The others were mainly fugitives in North America believed overseas, and even some "normal" fugitives likely still in the states (and in some cases they profiled overseas fugitives possibly in the states in prior episodes).
Hopefully it stays that way because if they profile a bunch of guys from Europe, but only one American they're not going to catch too many people. Otherwise, they have an advantage with CNN's broader reach than Lifetime had.

P.S. I edited the "May" part since that article said it but it just feels like Walsh would have announced it by now if it was May. It could be June at this point. No big deal if it's June although I'm worried that's an ominous sign since that's when the John Walsh Investigates got pushed back to on Lifetime and that show had horrible ratings. Of course, I blame Lifetime's complete lack of promotion for that one. I'm no longer as mad at Lifetime as I was at Fox but it doesn't mean I've forgiven them. They were rumored to have aired the last two episodes of AMW without a contract, would never respond to questions about AMW's status for next season, made fans some of whom watched for two decades wait six months to officially cancel a show they understandably but obviously couldn't afford, and then did little to promote the JWI special because they were cowards who knew they'd get flooded with AMW comments. So I'm still pissed at them in those regards. Anyway I obviously went off on a huge tangent. But I know CNN won't make that same mistake and will promote the heck out of Walsh's new show.

Details of the new show are now officially out in the media so I feel it's now safe to post (I knew a bit more from a source but was sworn to secrecy ) "The Hunt with John Walsh, a documentary-style, non-fiction program will take advantage of Walsh’s unique statue and perspective in television journalism and will tell stories of ongoing international criminal investigations in which the suspect is a fugitive at large. Through interviews with victims, loved ones and law enforcement and the exploration of new leads, The Hunt will provide the public with salient information to help in the fugitive’s apprehension. (Produced by Zero Point Zero Productions)" -The new show is "The Hunt" which we wil have to get used to saying. -The show will air sometime "this summer" (hopefully by summer they mean June at least), and will occupy one of the five weekday 9 PM time slots left open by Piers Morgan's cancellation. -"Zero Point Zero" productions, I realize, is Anthony Bourdain's production company. Bourdain's show on CNN is one of their highest rated programs, so this is a very good sign it will be a high quality and well-rated show. I'm really excited and can't wait!!!!! tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/04/10/cnn-announces-new-primetime-schedule/252961/

So CNN just cancelled Piers Morgan. Any chance of hoping his replacement (s) is not a nightly show and they devote one of those five nights to JW? I wonder if they have a suggestion box! I called it! And I swear no one told me!

I'm excited that now we know more this show. I am interested in seeing cases of wanted fugitives from other parts of the world and wouldn't have an issue putting international "The Hunt" cases on my 2014 Most Wanted List. As long as we don't get too many cases of fugitives believed to be in parts of the world where the chances of capturing them are very slim, I'll be happy.
I also want to see this show premiere around June, I don't want to have to wait till July/August.

The summer is also the time when I'm busiest at work unfortunately. I'm hoping they approach the show the way they did the World's Most Wanted special on Fox. Once again I sound like a broken record, but wasn't Samantha Lewthwaite the only truly international fugitive on the show? I wish I still had the run-down on who was featured on it.

I believe the Pink Panther trio fugitives got a re-airing on that special episode.

I was thinking of them but thought it was an earlier episode. You might be right though. (And it really does annoy me if they gave them another airing. Not that they don't deserve to be caught but if they didn't catch them the first time...).

My biggest concern about the international fugitives is having a bunch of international organized crime felons get aired (like the Pink Panther trio). Some of them could be anywhere in the world and AMW may not have that much luck getting tips on them.
EDIT: I'm actually going to look through Interpol's Red Notices sometime to find information on international fugitives wanted for similar crimes like those frequently featured on AMW. Hopefully The Hunt will air more of those types of cases.
