I think we sometimes look too much into the positioning on the website for the top ten list. Live PD Wanted may have simply profiled Brown because he is a top ten fugitive. It's nice to think about, but sometimes a fugitive is profiled for the sake of being profiled. Also I don't mean to insult them but Live PD: Wanted isn't that huge a show like AMW where there's more of a purpose for pre-planned coordination.

There have been so many promising sightings in weird places (if you think Ashland is weird there was a mistaken identity sighting in Victor, Idaho once) only to come up empty that I will remain cautiously optimistic as always.
Interesting lead though.

It’s a very interesting lead indeed and honestly it’s not surprising if it in fact is Brown that he ended up in Ohio of all places given there’s plenty of rural areas throughout the rust belt. I used to think back when I started in 2006 till 2017/2018 that Brown isn’t living a life of being the center of attention anymore, and he’s more than likely in a rural town in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
Now this Ohio sighting is an interesting lead, I hope something finally comes out of all this but who knows.
Also a couple of interesting facts; but Brown’s previous criminal convictions include the stealing of golf clubs in North Carolina in May of 1998 and stealing a car in December of 1990.
The infamous photograph of Brown with the red Oakley hoodie was taken on November 10, 2004, 2 weeks before the Murder and Robbery.

This could be a good sighting but why would he end up in the midwest where he has no friends family or associates I mean I understand he could be there but I think a place like Portland,Seattle,or Los Angeles I mean he could have put in a trojan horse like Peter Chadwick who planted evidence that he was in Vancouver British Columbia but was captured in Puebla Mexico bussing tables not living the high life with multi millions as that mysteriously vanished along with Chadwick but they got him

I mean he was in Orange County California but did a turn around and his car was found At Portland international airport if I remember correctly but he could have slipped into Canada but I don't think hes dead anymore due to the sightings

I know I sound like a broken record but Brown is the one fugitive that literally can be ANYWHERE and if he ever is caught- wherever it is wouldn't surprise me- whether it be a small or medium-sized city in Ohio or some random Greek island- in a mormon community or Amish country or anywhere- the only thing that would surprise me is the Middle East. He blends in anywhere with his average white guy looks.
The issue I have is we always have these promising leads and then nothing- hopefully eventually one will hit- will this be the one- who knows. But as toptenhunter pointed out, Brown has been in North Carolina which is relatively close to Ohio.
I don't want to sound pessimistic- I am a forever optimist even in the darkest times- but I am also cautiously optimistic when it comes to these sightings since we've been let down so many times before.
I have a feeling if and hopefully when he's finally captured it will be a lead we never heard of that came out of nowhere- no articles about possible sightings previously (although I have always been intrigued by the Thailand lead of all of them so far), but I will gladly accept if this Ohio sighting is the positive version of the boy who cried wolf but the story has a happy ending. (for lack of a better analogy, and as far as the chase goes a happy ending, even if Brown is caught one day, the story itself won't have a happy ending, only justice. But justice should still prevail since Keith Palomares did not deserve what happened to him just for doing his job).

My fbi poster that I ordered of Jason Derek Brown has just arrived.... now again it’s not an FBI Top Ten poster rather it’s Brown’s Pre addition poster from January 21, 2005. This particular poster is where it has his criminal record which includes the (I don’t know if we’ve mention this before this week) but it turns out Brown was charged with Vehicle theft, by taking a vehicle for temporary use, and was charged on December 17, 1990.

Nice find!
I think that is partially what makes Brown unique though- it isn't that he was this innocent guy without a criminal record- but that he was basically a petty thief and con artist. We don't usually see people who have a criminal history but a relatively non-violent criminal history make the jump to alleged murderer. Usually there's domestic violence or assault charges but that was not the pattern with Brown.

Usually there's domestic violence or assault charges but that was not the pattern with Brown. Brown was 20 when he was charged with vehicle theft so perhaps he was a young privileged adult having way too much fun. I think the reason Jason Brown did this was because of privilege, he felt like he was entitled and usually those kind of people who feel privileged will harm anyone to get what they want. It may not be the case but having met people like that in life and analyzing Brown it makes a lot of sense to me now how a guy like Jason Brown did what he did.

Agree completely on the psychological analysis. He was always a narcissist.

Agree completely on the psychological analysis. He was always a narcissist. With the narcissism and the privileged mentality, it’s what makes Brown a very unique murderer, a very cold and desperate one too, as he wasn’t comfortable with being broke and decided he needed to get money and fast....... I know these are things that have been discussed over the last 16 years, but making connections to people I know in real life who are in a way similar to Brown in their upbringing, makes the Jason Brown case make more sense to me.

Actually taking the Mansfield Ohio lead a bit more seriously now because I learn there's an LDS church there. When you google it, it says temporarily closed (probably because of the current coronavirus pandemic) so it would make sense that Brown would be forced to be out in public and/or seek refuge elsewhere.

*learned. But yeah personally if I were the FBI and why would they not know this but I'm also scouting the local Wal-Mart or other stores that are open for essential items that Brown could be shopping at (if the sighting was accurate).
