I think an aspect of this case matches that of Jason Brown’s: he does have somewhat of a common person look. I do know several look-alikes have been taken into custody. Put simply, he looks like a lot of surfer dudes in Southern CA.

Yes, we've discussed earlier in the thread that it's actually been officially stated that it is believed part of the reason he's been so difficult to catch- as weird as it sounds- is that he's an average looking white guy. The FBI gets more tips on him than any other fugitive because of this.
I know it gets repetitive to mention it but there is also the "looks like Sean Penn" aspect to where even Sean Penn's body double has been detained (I think more than once as well). (Rather ironic since Sean Penn somehow found his way into being part of the story in the second capture of El Chapo).

Can we freaking-finally ditch a few silly things... #1 - There was never a "confirmed" sighting of JDB in Salt Lake. There was never a single one anywhere. That story(fake news) was made up by the media, like they always do, to help sell their advertising. If the FBI doesn't confirm it, and they have not, THEN IT AIN'T CONFIRMED PEOPLE. Jesus Christ, stop with this utter BS. #2 - He didn't look anything like Sean Pean in 2004, and I'm sure that's still the case. Sean Pean was downright aged and ugly back then and JDB was not. Again, this media nonsense helps to add interest to the story to sell, what else, advertising. #3 - I'm surprised the FBI is still putting out those age-enhanced photos of Brown. He looks tanned, good-looking, slim in the face, and is aging quite well. He could be bald, 240 pounds with a double chin and down right ugly. I think the FBI is lazy when it comes to fugitives 10+ years .
#4 - So many people here believe things because they want to believe. People say, I saw him Calgery, Paris, Rome...sheesh, give me a break.
I wish these people would take out the phone and take a freaking picture...HELLO.
And don't forget to get his very unique ears in the pic. Because it's the first

#1- I would agree this "sighting" is debatable- although it was supposedly someone who knew Brown who thought they saw him. #2- Articles do claim Penn's body double has been detained as thought to be Brown. I agree with you I don't see the resemblance as much as others do- but other people apparently do. fox2now.com/2013/03/27/fbi-doubles-reward-for-suspect-who-looks-like-sean-penns-son/I have nothing much to add to points three or four. We don't know what Brown looks like now since he hasn't been caught yet and I do agree I have often seen people posting "this is him" photos on Facebook that look nothing like him and what is even weirder is people will reply "omg that's him!" |

Even if Jason was in Salt Lake City, I doubt it was for very long. The fact that he was there also leads me to believe he has friends or family who know where he’s at or who have been in contact with him, since he’s familiar with that area.

Jason was also a mormon missionary and Utah has a lot of mormons, is it too farfetched to think he is hiding out with LDS?

Years ago, the FBI put out a flyer appealing to the public he could be doing that.
Also, as far as friends and family, it would not surprise me if Jason has become a ghost and left his entire life behind in order to disappear. That is actually often how the fugitives who stay on the run the longest are able to do it. His family did help him initially, his sister lied about the car he was driving, his brother helped him hide items, etc... but for all we know he said goodbye to them the last time he saw them. The problem is careful as you are, you are risking it by having friends and family help as law enforcement knows who they are and they track them.

P.S. Everyone can feel free to predict here as well, but since it is a prediction and not discussion thing, I figure we'd make a speicifc thread/poll for where Brown will be caught if he ever is. I feel it would be interesting to see who was right if any of us were. And is stated in the thread, I don't care about being right or not, and we need to remember that while this is admittedly an interesting case in terms of discussing theories and clues and considering Brown's background, there is still a person and a victim and what's most important is getting justice for Keith Palomares.
I hate saying if and when and I'm getting increasingly frustrated Brown's still not caught. Taking nothing away from those of you who joined, and I'm glad you've all added your opinions and glad to have everyone here who joined specifically because of this case, I'd rather have Brown be caught.

#1 - This entire story is made up by the media. Nobody, no friend ever saw Brown in Utah. There is no "someone". It's all made up. Have you noticed the FBI has not, ever, said a single word about this alleged sighting. It's not hard to figure out how the media in this country operates.....gotta sell that advertising or the lights go out...lol.
#2 - Shunter, I wasn't talking about Penn's double. I was talking about Penn. JDB looks nothing like him. But if people hear often enough that JDB looks like Penn, well, they will happily go along with it. I agree totally with your points about JDB leaving family behind. JDB knows the FBI will always come back to family for any info. Maybe even track JDB family for a while. Dave |

I think it was mentioned in some reports the sighting was never confirmed by the FBI, but I do agree with you it is entirely possible the "sighting" never actually happened- like not even an acquaintance mistakenly thinking they saw Brown but the sighting itself having never happened. I guess the only thing I politely disagree on is I think it was possibly some sort of rumor that a news station took and ran with rather than verifying sources/not doing proper research rather than intentionally making up the lead.
I understand about the Penn thing. I agree the media does play the angle up to get people to read their article. It is a bit of a catch-22, the more people who know about the case, read about the story etc..., the potential for more tips or the right person who knows where Brown is hiding after reading the story, watching the case on tv etc... But playing up the Penn angle too much, whether JDB actually looks like him or not, you're also risking lots of illegitimate time-wasting tips from people who contact the FBI because they think the guy they saw is JDB because the guy they saw in public (in their opinion) resembles Sean Penn. It's obvious you want quality and not quantity in your leads if you can.

Hahaha I've actually watched Crime Watch Daily before (Doran was replaced the second season with Chris Hansen) and never thought about it before. I guess this is like Sean Penn- I don't think he looks *exactly* like JDB as much as you do- but I definitely see why you think he looks similar and has the same hair style, similar nose etc... lol. P.S. I get told I look like Brad Pitt often but I actually agree with that one.  |

Also, in the video at 24-27 seconds check out that good close-up of JDB's left ear.
Get a screen shot of that choppy ear because it is very unique. If anyone thinks
they see him just compare that person's ear with this picture. It will clear things
up pronto. People usually don't have plastic surgery on their ears. The FBI will
always tell you, look at the ears. Just a thought.

Yes, I definitely agree with you. It's possible JDB got plastic surgery by now (some argue he's too vain to do that, I'd like to counter-argue that plastic surgery specifically often appeals to vain people), but the ears do stand out and ears don't change. Another somewhat off-topic note, and at the risk of making this thread too silly, the guy I always thought sort of resembled Brown was a YouTube personality named Casey Neistat but once again it could be a thing where one person sees something others don't. www.youtube.com/user/caseyneistat |
