I just finished reading Jason's sister Jami's book that was released in 2020. At the end she talks about the FBI wanting a new age progressed photo so maybe this movie will be the kick in the ass they need.
Speaking of the book has anyone read it? Thoughts? Half the book was worth it but the half was just her talking about how attractive and successful she is all the while saying she hates narcissits... takes one to know one i guess.

Doesn't surprise me. I was hesitant to read the book because I'm annoyed by her acting like a victim when she lied about the type of vehicle Jason was driving and helped facilitate his escape. Based on what you say I especially won't read it now.

I’m wondering if the case was colder than the FBI led the public into believing. This case arguably had another good four years of life into it, since Fisher was dropped after 19 years, and Godwin after 20.
What scares me is that Brown allegedly shot a man in the head with armor piercing bullets when he was out of money.
What happens if the money runs out again?

For that reason, I was fearful of them removing Brown, but was hoping they'd at least give it another year or two. As I said in the thread on Michael Pratt replacing Brown, the FBI constantly received tips on Brown, but I hate to use the stereotype but it seemed likely was mainly due to his "average white guy" looks that made him look like a lot of people. The tips were quantity, but not quality.
I swear this isn't to brag but when I hung out a little with Cal Walsh a few weeks ago he mentioned how AMW In Pursuit etc.. sometimes has people paranoid looking to see if they saw a fugitive from that week's show, when in reality, usually it's going to be someone already in your life and that's how you recognize them. I do feel like that sort of applies in this case, people thinking they recognize Brown because they're familiar with the case, when if he ever does get caught, it may be because of someone who surprisingly didn't know about him and puts two and two together.

Like you indicated, I’m guessing this was a situation similar to Robert Fisher’s case where they had tons of look-alikes, but none could really be verified.

Also like Fisher, Brown became too notorious even for the Top Ten List.

I don't think either became too notorious for the list. They added RCQ after he was already notorious. Just Brown and Fisher were on long enough that the FBI had to make the tough decision to remove without capture. It was simply a matter of if tips haven't caught them by now, time to make room for newer fugitives.

Makes sense, it’s surprising that Brown was removed now even though I personally would’ve given it till he was 60, but compared to how the list has stagnated since 2019, sadly this was the best option to clean house.

A theatrical film "American Murderer" was released in theaters and streaming sites October 28, 2022. Starring Tom Pelphrey as Jason Brown and Ryan Phillippe as the FBI agent on the case.
Dramatic case history of Brown and the Arizona robbery/murder.
Hopefully that would renew interest in the case to track him down.

I mentioned the movie when it was announced it was coming out. I am conflicted because I don't want him to be idolized (hence why I've been hesitant to watch the Jeffrey Dahmer Netflix series), but if it helps get more eyeballs on the case for justice it is a necessary evil we have to deal with.

The American Murderer movie appeared to make little impact in the box office and also had mixed reviews- so I guess I went from being begrudgingly for the movie to now being against it- albeit after the fact. Then again, I assume once the movie becomes available online, it could generate interest again.
