Since I live in Canada, I'll have to activate a program that changes my IP provider to make it appear that I'm American. I hope that will give me access to Hulu but I doubt it will give me access to CNBC's episode viewer since I would have to pick and log into an American cable provider. Also, I've added some cases from Disappeared and will now look through Cold Justice's episode listings.

We have now passed 200 members! Now all we need is for more members to be active. We're good people to discuss cases with!

We actually have more pending but I tend to approve those who fill out the comments box first. Blank registrations need further review and I'm too busy to do that at the moment. So those who forgot to comment feel free to register again with one. If not as long as your registration is normal enough it should still be approved sometime today or tomorrow.

Watching Drugs Inc. with my father and regardless of what you think of the War On Drugs, getting involved with drugs is just not the life you want to live.

Re-reading Pakman's November 2004 episode guide and I was thinking that say once he's done say half of 2005, we could do a listing of all the fallen officers from The Line Of Duty segments. It would be good to honor their sacrifices and the lives they lived.

It's a wonder with that name.
I got a chance to talk to my mom the other night and tell her Janet and Ramon Barreto were captured. I mentioned before she has trouble remembering fugitives even though she also watched AMW weekly and watches The Hunt as well. Although I had to describe the case, she knew right away who they were once I briefly described the case and even added details she remembered! So even my mom who never remembers anyone from AMW knew the Barretos and was also very happy to hear they were captured!

I'm not sure if anyone else here has seen The First 48 before but there some episodes that concluded with the featured murder being unsolved. I wouldn't mind posting a few of them on the TV show unsolved crimes subforum, especially the Miami murder and dismemberment of Osben LaParra (that episode I saw).

I LOVE that show the few times I've seen it. And I do remember some cases being unsolved. I was considering doing a case file from the First 48. As usual the problem is being too busy. I know it LOOKS like I'm always posting but more than 50 percent of the time it's from my phone where I can't post case files.
The first 48 is a good show though I highly recommend it. I will still never get why AMW wound up on Lifetime considering it was owned by A&E, a network much more suited for it imo. (Fox's license fees would have wound up cancelling the show anyway no matter the network).

My sister just called as saying she booked a work shift for 9am on Saturday. Now my mom is on vacation and she normally drives her to work (I sometimes do it too), but she now lives in her own apartment. What she was assuming that either my dad or I could wake up that early on a Saturday morning and drive her to her job all the way on the other end of the community we live in. The problem is that my dad is usually tired on Saturday mornings and I have Friday Night Magic The Gathering to go too and she was pretty much cajoling me to drive her. Now I have no idea how tired I will be waking up that early on a Saturday (especially since I'm also working on Friday), and she should not be assuming that I can do this favour for her. Now she will have to pay to take a taxi. At least the life lesson learned is, book a work shift if you know you will be able to get there, especially if you don't drive yourself.

I just learned that one of my favourite authors, Charles Bowden had died on Aug 30. He was well regarded, with a lot of focus on the drug violence in Latin America. He was one of the few authors who really understood the plight and the downspiral to aranchy the people of Ciudad Juarez were living through as their city went into complete and utter insanity from 2008-2011. I didn't agree with all his perspectives but he was really good at what he wrote. narcosphere.narconews.com/notebook/bill-conroy/2014/09/charles-bowden-has-died-his-voice-louder-ever

How old was he? In any case, he may not have been as well known a figure as other celebrities who have died this year but he certainly made an impact it seems. Sort of off-topic but here's something I just learned- They Might Be Giants- the punk band who wrote the theme song for "Malcolm In The Middle" almost wrote a theme song for AMW! Based on their rocking but sometimes silly nature, I imagine the lyrics would have been similar to the Cops theme with amped-up hee-haw music.

So next time I see this girl in my college's magic the gathering/anime group, I'm going to ask if she would be interested in seeing a movie with me over the weekend. I already accompanied her on the city bus to the local anime store and back to the college (she lives in a different town than where the college is so she needed help with the bus routes) and we have chatted and like similar things (true crime studies since she's in a police course, magic the gathering, anime, criminal minds, etc.).
