Facebook finally let me change the name of the now primary website Facebook page "The Hunt with John Walsh Fans- Unofficial" to "The Hunt with John Walsh Fans- Unofficial, Not Actual Show" LOL. I previously tried to change the name to "The Hunt with John Walsh Fans- Unofficial- Disclaimer- Only Fan Page, Not Show" and they denied me. When I appealed the denial they replied back to me "After careful review, we've determined the name you requested may be misleading for the people who like your Page." So according to them adding a disclaimer was somehow more misleading than the original title with no disclaimer. People have poor reading skills anyway, but hopefully this cuts down on the number of people contacting me thinking I'm John Walsh. Also, I should stress I'm always willing to help anyone who needs help with an actual case, it's the people who message me random crap complaining about how big the ads are on HLN or wanting me, "John Walsh", to investigate some weird thing that might not even count as a crime case that drive me nuts. Let's see how everything goes with the new title now. LOL

Update: Same problems still as expected, but hey at least it's more painfully obvious to point out now should anyone annoy me lol.

Guys I have something to share, I've just been given the opportunity of a lifetime, which could mean possibily end up living in New York City for a few months. I really don't know what to think but it seems like the opportunity to at least get out of the same area I was born and raised in and get a different feel of another location. I really liked it in NYC when I visited this summer and it made me want to stay, but now to be given the opportunity is a little shocking, as I haven't made up my mind.

If it's only for a few months I say go for it (unless it would affect any college plans). Would be good to get new life experiences. I had many opportunities to go to a foreign country for free in the summer as a young adult but didn't because I didn't think it was safe. Still regret it to this day because of the life experiences I could have gained. (My potential wife was probably on one of those trips as well lol). Long-term would be a more difficult solution weighing pros and cons. Most important would be money since NYC is an expensive place to live.

Lol the reason I'm given the opportunity is because this young lady asked her parents who are friends with my parents if I can go live with them, so in a way it's my potential wife begging me to move to NYC. Im actually planning on going for it, LOL it'll be a fun experience. It won't affect college as I've decided to take a year off and work so it'll be okay on that front.

Just like with Harvey, hope any of our forum readers from Florida or elsewhere in Hurricane Irma's path stay safe. I have friends and family in Florida so this is also a bit personal for me.
Currently there are three hurricanes happening at the same time in the Atlantic (Jose and Katia as well), which is pretty crazy.
But anyway, there's no such thing as global warming.

R.I.P. Hugh Hefner, who passed away at age 91. Believe it or not, there actually was an America's Most Wanted connection as perhaps the most controversial capture of all-time #122, Lawrencia Ann "Bambi" Bembenek was an ex-Playboy Bunny (and former police officer). As we all know, even John Walsh thought she was innocent. I have no idea if Hefner ever weighed in.
(There was also of course AMW capture #93 Minh "Tony Playboy" Nguyen, but he had nothing to do with Playboy itself even though it obviously inspired the nickname).

Just because I've never done it before, I'm looking through Youtube videos for "Wanted fugitive murder". I'm just seeing there's either any current or archived news reports or other types of videos on fugitives that aren't on this site. So far most of the videos I've scrolled through are about the FBI's Top Ten, fugitives who were captured, or videos totally unrelated to the topic (it's Youtube after all).
I'll do another post if I actually find something interesting.

I've been playing around with web.archive.org's search feature for a little while and I want to see if this can be done. On the home page, it says to enter either a URL or keywords to pull up archived websites. What I am trying to do here is to see if I put down someone's name (ex. Larry Porter Chism which is not common at all) I will be directed to all the archived websites that have "Larry Porter Chism" on it. The problem is that archive.org is pulling up search results with not the full name but people with the last name Chism, etc, so there's a ton of search results for all types of websites. This isn't an issue for anything but website searches.
If someone could figure this out then it might be a really useful case searching tool to use in the future. I just don't know if it can be done.

Well since we're all sharing some sort of crime thoughts today- I'll share mine- I've been debating buying or finding a way to get that "How to Disappear and Never Get Caught" or however it's titled book we see some fugitives such as James Hammes (who it ultimately didn't work for) and Peter Chadwick (still not caught) use. Simply because I figure it may help with the somewhat sleuthing we do on this site and help me get more in the mind of these criminals. (not to brag, I feel I do a pretty good job already with that, but any tool to help me/us amateur sleuth even more efficiently is a good thing). However, I feel I'm going to have the government knocking at my door if I even Google the book, let alone buy it lol.

With the information, we could probably do some more accurate predictions on whereabouts and things the fugitives would be doing while on the run.

Haha, yeah I also apologize as I should have said WE (all of us) do a good job of sleuthing, but the book may help give some insight as well. Maybe I'll take a chance, and this website is the perfect excuse should anyone ask lol.

Anyone else notice that for the most recent six fugitives the FBI has added to their website (and are still wanted), five of them are drug traffickers? Now these fugitives need to be caught to face a court of law for their alleged crimes, I'm just wanting the FBI to add some other fugitives at the same time as well (charges would be murder, sex crimes, robbery, fraud, etc.). Getting drug traffickers off the street compared to those other types of fugitives is the least beneficial for society since other drug traffickers will move into the exact same market.

Sometimes there's trends in who the FBI adds to their website but while I hate to get political too much, there's a slight possibility Attorney General Jeff Sessions could have something to do with it, as some of his beliefs have clashed with even members of his own party. (I believe Rand Paul criticized Sessions for wanting mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenders, as even many Republicans are starting to agree that drug offenders, those that take the drug at least, need help as opposed to jail time, not to mention it seems the laws disproportionately affect minorities). Still, at least the ones they're added are wanted for trafficking more dangerous drugs like heroin, methamphetamine etc... and it isn't a bunch of marijuana traffickers. Sessions apparently wants to bring back the war on drugs that has failed since the 1980's.
I certainly don't condone the drug DEALERS, but I do agree there's bigger fish to fry. We'll see how the trend goes. My policy was to add ANY fugitive the FBI places on their website to our list, but if they keep this up and neglecting other cases, I may have to revise...
