Somewhat off-topic but I've completed all my planned cases for 2016 and will not add any new fugitives or other cases besides breaking news cases, Justice Network/Crime Watch Daily new fugitive cases, FBI site additions, and/or victim case requests until 2017. This gives me time to re-charge my batteries and I want to make it a tradition to take it easy for the holidays. Ironically I may still be busy anyway since I'd like to take the time to work on other issues on the site (going over threads to see if they need updating, deleting members that joined and never posted or even logged in (screw them! lol), etc... ) I'm also debating if I want to shuffle around the cases again- where the most popular cases are among the first in each section (new readers reading the site want to see the cases they're familiar with up front) but perhaps the more recent cases or more recent updates make more sense as to potential for them getting solved. I may do that again or I may hold off on that until next year if at all, haven't decided yet, obviously if you see the site shut down for maintenance at any point (which would only be temporarily), I decided to do it lol. Its good to take things easy this time of year, and also good to use this time to get the site issues addressed... so it's a great thing. However I think the cases that should be focused on are popular famous cases and also cold cases threads that don't have much posts on them as it can give us a chance to start a discussion on them (referring to any AMW and FBI cases). Also don't worry about adding threads Scumhunter, I'll add any new FBI site cases from here till 2017 to relieve you of command. 😊 As far as the FBI cases it only takes 5 seconds to post them and there's not a barrage of additions every week so it's no big deal to me to add the occasional thread. If you happen to beat me to it then I'm not going to complain so I guess it's whoever sees it first lol. Also it's always been said AMW was a court of last resort and this site sort of is also. Lesser known cases need the attention more. But we also want to attract readers, and they tend to be more hooked in if they see cases they're familiar with right away. However the conundrum is taking old cases but with updates into account. (For instance AMW fugitive Jihad Ramadan was a little known fugitive compared to others but there was an update in his case when officials thought they discovered wedding photos of him. Even though it turned out to be a false alarm, it also made the case more recent compared to more popular fugitives with newer updates.) Like I said I'm just going to edit threads and delete members for now and everything else is still up in the air.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, hope everyone is having lots to eat today. Also im thankful for the fugitives that have been caught over the course of 2016. I'm thankful to the Most Wanted lists for their part in apprehending fugitives and also those who are currently left At-Large on the lists, because I'm confident that maybe it'll be one of these remaing FBI top 10ers last thanksgiving on the run.

This editing and going over every thread has been an even more massive undertaking than I previously imagined lol. There is no way I will finish by the end of the year so I won't drive myself crazy but hopefully by sometime next year I can finish it. I'm still going to do the best I can while not letting it prevent me from doing other things such as researching fugitive cases for next year, etc....
One thing I've been editing thread by thread in case any of you notice-
-Although we're a message board, because of copyrights and such, I'm trying to give credits to wherever photos of the fugitive or missing child etc... came from wherever possible. It's impossible to give credit to EVERY thread. Some are attachment photos from the poster so I can't say definitely where the photos from, or some have a weird url. Or some I will accidentally forget Admittedly of the 350 threads or so I've done so, I've probably forgot to credit at least 10 of them so far that I could have lol. But I'm trying to give credit as much as we can so that at least a decent percentage of the photos have credits to them.
-A lot of fugitive threads I just assumed police contact points or crime stoppers lines for based on location for anyone who had tips on whereabouts. In case of inaccuracy or if there was a better number or website we should have used, I am stressing things like "based on wanted location, this is our advice on who to call". or "Based on news articles, this is who you should call."
I also am stressing in any fugitive profile the reason for why we say you should call a certain police agency. (just mentioning based on FBI.Gov wanted poster next to the heading should be enough but in some cases further specification is needed)
-I'm also trying to specify in each thread, we'd like news updates but are not a tip agency.
So yeah, that's that lol.

Even though we don't maintain a personal yearly most wanted thread thing anymore because of too many names to add/lack of participants, I do plan on having a yearly #1 fugitive as usual and perhaps a personal top 10 list as well from all our exclusive fugitives. Right now Jerod Watson will be #1 for 2016 if he isn't caught by the time I make my final list. (Which should be sometime between December 15th-30th)

(Which should be sometime between December 15th-30th) I'd be willing to participate and make a site Most Wanted list, its own thread titled AMWfans Top 10 or 15 Most Wanted list, consisting 10-15 fugitives? I think it's a great idea that we have our own Most Wanted list, so people looking at this site will be interested. However my question is would it include AMW aired fugitives (that aren't on both Feds most wanted lists) as well?

We actually have a site dirty dozen list! Members helped pick the first set of fugitives. Now I usually just replace if captured but take past nominees into consideration.
We also used to do a yearly personal Most Wanted list of all fugitives added to the site that year. (In other words, only those added to the site in 2014 for 2014 or the same for 2015. The problem is that was back when we only added a fugitive or two a week. Now that our site is more expansive, it got more difficult for me and HeadMarshal to maintain a list and although 912th offered to take over, me and HM likely would have still had difficulties participating which would have defeated having the list anyway.
But just skimming over the fugitives we added this year and making a top 10 shouldn't be that hard lol.

I get it and no it isn't because I have another fugitive in mind for consideration, Jerod Watson was on my mind too. But your right about Jerod Watson being #1 because that guy was awful. Terry Strickland should also be considered in the 2016 list because he shot 2 people during a fight in Wisconsin in July.

Yep! My parents got it for me for my birthday (or the holidays- I forget which one LOL) back in like 96. It's a really good book but really tragic as well. It's sort of an autobiography but of course the bulk of it is about the search for Adam, how John Walsh, friends and family had to try so much harder than expected to find Adam because of how unprepared the Hollywood, Florida Police Department was and how overall the resources for finding missing children were not there yet (there was no national database- no National Center for Missing & Exploited Children- which John Walsh founded- back then). Walsh's book was also my book report for high school. We all had to write about an autobiography on someone. The teacher went around the class asking who we chose and when I said "John Walsh" the teacher replied "great choice, good man!"

It sounds like a good book from what your telling me, and also John Walsh is one of those figures in our modern time that have a lot of courage and are strong, willing to get redemption in other ways. He may not have been able to confront his son's killer face to face in court, but he's done that for families who are/were in a similar situation. IMO he's such an icon and unhinged (on The Hunt sometimes) that he deserves a street to be named after him and a statute of him somewhere.

Am I the only one where the site keeps freezing on them? It's like I can make a post but then the site will freeze and say technical difficulties right afterwards.
