Not sure where to post this but it's been VERY slow at work and I've been bored to death. It's also not like it's one of the nicer months where I can spend free time going out and doing a lot of stuff since it's also been FREEZING here. I think I'm going to post two cases a day for the rest of the month just to fulfill my boredom, at least until March 1st when The Hunt is supposedly coming back but we've yet to see definitive proof of that. Just letting you guys know not to be overwhelmed or feel the need to reply the barrage of case postings and just reply to the ones you're interested in. Once I go back to one a day, then I'll be annoyed again if no one replies.

Yes, and thanks for that! As I mentioned earlier, breaking news cases are really posted as "just in case" cases- especially in fugitive cases- 99 percent of them are resolved in a week. It's just the rare ones that go on longer- like Shane Miller and Alexander Hill Jr.- that's the reason for posting EVERY breaking news fugitive case on the off-chance it goes on longer. Usually the cases are bad enough a chance can't be taken- even if it's a 0.01 percent chance.

I usually only post if I have something to add, or some tidbit I think is interesting Promise I'm not trying to up my post count (I've been to forums where that's a bannable offense, posting just so your post count goes up)

now I feel I made everyone sub-conscious. I was simply warning everyone you might see a barrage of cases from me but not to feel pressure to reply to all of them Although admittedly I can't tell all of you the number of times where the only thought I have is "he's in Mexico." LOL. I usually post that anyway but it's embarrassing when I have to look at my "I have nothing else to say except he's probably in Mexico" reply afterwards

The National Enriquer just did a list of the Most Wanted Female Fugitives in the United States. There are some familiar names such as JoAnne Chesimard and Hazel Leota Head but I have just learned about two of these women who have fled the United States and freely getting away with their offenses in Canada and Kuwait, they are Denise Harvey and Muneerah Ali Al-Tarah respectively. www.nationalenquirer.com/true-crime/special-report-fbis-most-wanted-women

Okay a newspaper in Baltimore just did a story on the 1981 cold case murder of the brother of a 83-year old Korean War veteran and how the vet is the only one left in his family that is actively trying to solve this case. I would really want to do a thread summary on this case based off the article, but would it have killed the writer to include a photo of what the victim looked like, since there's no visuals online to go with this case and I usually want to include at least one visual since they can be really helpful. insurancenewsnet.com/oarticle/2015/02/28/war-veteran-has-a-dying-wish-solve-my-brothers-murder-a-602104.html#.VPI5RMu9KSM

I read that article too and what also annoyed me was how they mention the murder happened around the time of Adam Walsh's abduction and go out of their way to point out the case was never aired on AMW. It was probably unintentional, but it felt unnecessary and a low blow to me. I was watching Cold Justice last night and they mention there are over 200,000 unsolved murders since the 1980's. I Googled that and the number is more around 211,000! Yet AMW, a show mainly about fugitives and also airs missing children always seems to get crap that they can't air every case on Earth. It would take them until 3015 to air all those murders! I have all the sympathy in the world, but it really annoyed me when people blamed AMW for not airing their case. I'd be upset too, but I'd understand.

Question about the unsolved murders tally, does that count cases where a warrant has been issued for a suspect who later becomes a fugitive and is still at large?

No clue. I think they just meant "unsolved"

rant time: The internet exploded with a picture of a dress and a debate as to what color it was. EVERYONE commented on it and it was all over my Facebook news food. Millions of people will share a picture of a freaking dress, but not of a fugitive or missing child. It's things like this that make me have no hope for society sometimes.

I was flipping channels and Nancy Grace *groan* was on CNN talking about the hung jury on Jodi Arias- on whether or not she'll get the death penalty and going on and on about how its' a travesty for the Travis Alexander family etc. And I'm thinking she acts like Arias was found innocent- she's still likely going to spend the rest of her life in jail. (A Judge can also decide on 25 to life for sentencing since the death penalty's off the table- but I really doubt that's going to happen). Thankfully the other commentator called her out on it and said it was ridiculous for her to act like because a jury made a decision the way they always do in the system it meant justice wasn't served. Apparently since Jodi Arias won't be roasted on a stick but will instead be inside a 6 by 8 foot cell with no freedom for the rest of her life it means justice wasn't served. Heck, if Jodi had been convicted in many other states, the death penalty wouldn't have even been an option. My goodness I can't stand this woman. They better not replace John Walsh with her if he ever decides to retire!

Going through the AMW archives looking to confirm some cases and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website still has Frederick Barrett and Eric Antwan Bell, both captured, listed as active warrants. It's one of the best state databases, what other state can you look up the entire state's fugitives, but like many others often outdated. Since we're not law enforcement, I usually just need to be "90 percent" satisfied and not 100 to post a case. Heck, even if it turns out the guy was already captured after we post his thread, at least we'll know and no longer have doubts. But I'm going to be a bit more careful with the FDLE site from now on. If it says the case is active and I can't find any Google news articles saying the fugitive was captured then I'm 90 percent satisfied and feel good enough to post. But I will make sure to do further research and not just assume from now on.
The odd thing is even the Hillsborough County warrants page claims there's an active arrest warrant for Eric Bell. Don't know what's up with that.

I have discovered a new national most wanted list! The Office of The Health Inspector Most Wanted List is meant to publicize fugitives wanted for defrauding Medicard and there are a ton of fugitives on their website, although pretty much all of them are likely to have fled the United States. oig.hhs.gov/fraud/fugitives/profiles.asp#alky
