Going to be adding the drug/financial crime fugitives from the FBI's website in the next few days so I can finally have every Fugitive from the FBI's website on our site as well. Not excusing these types of crimes, especially depending on the circumstances, but there's not really as much for people to comment on so I feel I can just get them out of the way quickly.

Ok well I would like to request some assistance in the Lori Erica Ruff case by providing a list of missing persons with specific characteristics as I have listed below. So far I've been searching through the Oregon missing persons section on the Charley project.
Now I have been looking at the Charley project for persons with the following characteristics:
D.O.B.: 1960-1969
Missing from: the Pacific Northwest region of the United States (As Lori Ruff had no distinguishable accent she may have came from that region)
Either an endangered missing or runaway from January 1960 until April 1988.
Physical features: Brown hair, Hazel Eyes, height would have to be somewhere in the 5 ft range as she was above average height and weight around 160 pounds.
Appreciate the help.

I hate to say I can't help but I've been extremely busy lately and have cases for the website to add as well, doing that and painstakingly going through hundreds if not thousands of missing persons cases would be very difficult and time consuming. I'll see if I can find anything if I have the time. At the very least I'll see if I can list who matches the regions and dates at least, and then we can work our way from there.

Actually I have an idea. Here is the Charley Project listing for Western States: charleyproject.org/geo/western.htmlAnd here is the listing for cases by decade: charleyproject.org/chron/index.htmlHere are the states considered the Pacific Northwest: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Montana, Wyoming. Let me know if you need further help but I think you could whittle it down from there.

After reading that the tip that caught Ponce came from the findchrisponce.com website but that they were never mentioned as the source of the tip in any media (besides us) makes me wonder if perhaps this website has been responsible for some past captures but we were just never credited. I realize we're just a small website and not actual AMW but we do get people who read our forum often. I can see someone calls their local police about a fugitive on this website but the police want the credit and don't mention the tipster saw the person on our site. So I do sometimes wonder if we're ever the reason for a capture (if we haven't been already) if we'll get credit. I do feel like Dennis Lilly's remains discovery while not exactly because of us did get us a mention in articles so at least we have that.

The before 2000 exclusive fugitive section was getting crowded so there is now a section just for exclusives from the 1990's and all other fugitives wanted before 1990 should obviously now be placed in the before 1990's section. Just a heads up for anyone wanting to post cold case fugitives.

Seeing us get a shout out in news articles for the capture of a fugitive we profiled which is awesome but as America's Most Wanted which we're not has led me to decide to specifically mention in the forum title itself that we're an unofficial fan page for America's Most Wanted and also The Hunt. We have never pretended to be anything but a fan page but seeing even news organizations make that mistake (although I stress I'm still thankful for their coverage) has led me to take this precaution. (No one told me to change the thread title and I decided to do this on my own.)
Let me know if the longer title distracts you in any way. Unfortunately I couldn't make the font smaller but if it's an issue maybe I can contact someone at ProBoards (our forum server) and see if there's a solution.

I have received a case request for an Innocence Project case to profile where the convict is being represented by an exoneration project and realized my decision to make the section moderator posting only may have created a bit of a problem when it comes to people wanting to post cases where there actually is Innocence Project backing. (I had made the section moderator only because I was afraid of people posting cases about how their friend or family member is innocent without any news articles or proof of an innocence project backing).
So from now on the policy is if someone requests a case and they're not a moderator but on the forum, as long as there's proof it's an Innocence Project case, they could always post in as a thread in the off-topic section of our forum and I could move it to the Innocence Project section for them.

So going through threads for updates and since I'm a glass-half full guy, I appreciate all the people who gave me updates or advance notices I wouldn't have otherwise known about. At the same time, it's really frustrating to me how I find these updates on news stories like weeks or months after the fact when we have a contact form sheet. I realize we're the "sleuths" or sort of fugitive-journalists and some may argue it's asking people to do my work for them, but because of the sheer number of cases, it's practically impossible to always know every update on a case. I realize no one is obligated to tell us, they don't work for me. (I don't get paid for doing this either though LOL). But lots of people read this site so it would be great for them to be well-informed as well. So please, if you're a lurker, any information you submit is encrypted and I'd really appreciate it. You don't have to give your name or e-mail anything. Just the facts, ma'am.

Sorry as I was busy with Super Bowl weekend and forgot to mention earlier but congrats to HeadMarshal on his new position as Assistant Commissioner! Basically, it means if I ever have an emergency and need to take an extended period of time from the site or if I have to take some time off for any other reason which would make me unavailable (I would like to visit a European country one day!), we now have someone who can approve members and/or moderate discussions. Don't worry, I have no plans to ever leave you guys, just wanted to have this in place.

Just a note for those who keep up with all the cases on here that when a forum-Exclusive missing child (under 18) is located, they are usually just removed from the site immediately. This is to reflect the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's missingkids.org website policy since they do the same thing. This way the child's privacy can be somewhat protected.
If it is a case that was aired on a national crime show or a High-profile one obviously that case would stay on here since there's no way for it to go away anyway.
But in general I'd like to do what I can to protect a missing child's privacy once there is no longer a need to locate them.

I get so many requests for old amw segments or episodes I decided to make a general sub-forum just for those requests. This way, even though the odds are a bazillion to one, at least people can now ask and hope for a miracle.
