Thanks. It's a process I'm still tinkering with but as I said I will work on it. I may also break it up to include the Most Wanted lists in between some the tv wanted decades since I don't want them to get too buried but we'll see!

Just a heads up I may start tinkering tonight after 11 PM ET. Or if I don't get a chance tonight, some time this week late night East Coast time (Whenever I do work on this site I always do it in the late hours to minimize inconveniences) so no one worry if you see this site in maintenance mode tonight or another day this week. Working on making it an even better crime fighting tool.

OK. New layout is done! I still have work to do with monthly site shuffle for some sections but those can be done another day and don't require to put into maintenance mode (as you can see, there was too much above to leave the site open while moving all that around ) Fugitives are now broken up into three sections: Aired on AMW/The Hunt (and on occasion other tv shows), Most Wanted List fugitives, and Forum-Exclusive Fugitives.I feel this way all three categories stand out more. Because there's more categories now, I've also added a site map at the top which breaks down the categories so visitors don't have to scroll all the way down to find whatever it is they're looking for. I also moved or deleted some threads I felt were no longer relevant or were better off in the general or off-topic section. Ironically, 2010-Present doesn't have many fugitives, while the 2000's as I predicted has a bunch. However, at least three of our forum-exclusive cases that we know of are going to be on season 2 of The Hunt (I am waiting for those cases to at least be on CNN's website before moving them to the tv section) and if The Hunt hopefully continues for more seasons (or even better if AMW comes back as well!) that section should get more crowded. But anyway, I'm really excited at the way this looks and think the sections break down nicely now!

Decided to move Alexander Hill Jr., Matthew Dion, and Megan Everett to the fugitives on tv section. I was going to wait until next year and didn't want to jump the gun this early but I thought the recent fugitives on tv section looked surprisingly bare when I re-organized into decades instead of just "recent" and "cold case". In addition, a lot of the more well known cases like Victor Barnard's and Peter Castillo's that would have been at the top were moved to the US Marshals Top 15 list and other recent fugitives were captured. Now there's a few more notable albeit not yet on tv (but soon to be) cases in that section and it doesn't look as weird.

It was a tough decision but I decided to delete the Cathy Morales capture thread. It was getting to the point where half of the story was unfair to Cathy who is still technically innocent and had different versions of her accused crime between AMW (who we still love of course) and news articles, and the other half of the story was unfair to Aisha, who was still a victim even if there were conflicting articles as to what Cathy's motive was that day. I also don't want our thread to affect the upcoming trial (I'm assuming there will be one) in a negative way for both the prosecution and defense. (Jurors are told to just look at the facts but we all know they Google this stuff anyway.) The whole Cathy Morales saga became a complete mess after the fact. Hey, at least I explain unlike amw.com who'd just mysteriously delete threads without saying why. I thought it was an important enough story people would notice it's not on our site. Another example of a story was last year when I deleted was the Boaz Johnson thread because his friends and family were still posting conspiracy theories on the Facebook pages related to that case despite a suicide note being found next to his body. (Hey my family member killed someone also (who was also a family member) and while I blame inadequate mental health treatment I still acknowledge he did it). I was worried it would start to become a conspiracy thread even though it had been relatively sane. Then there's stuff like gun control which is a touchy subject that got deleted for negativity. So there's various reasons why threads get deleted from time to time.

Not really a suggestion but just wanted to say that while not trying to sound egotistical, I sort of know how John Walsh must have felt about AMW having to turn down hundreds of cases a week. So many tragic stories. My plan for 2014 was going to be one recent exclusive fugitive (which I now define as after 2000) a week. Sort of Hunt themed- we put the spotlight on one- make them stand out for the week. But I'm going over potential cases for 2015 and there's nearly 100 at least so far and like over 20 already I'm rather passionate about. I've compromised in that aside from a case that was breaking news, if any of my scheduled cases I posted over the years results in capture, then I'll add a second planned fugitive that week. (regardless of if there was also a breaking news case). There is no shortage of bad guys and girls unfortunately.

Thanks to the person who registered with a common first and last name as an e-mail and didn't answer the registration question. Had no choice but to reject. It still amuses me how even with "Please Read Below" in all caps, more than 50% of those who register still don't answer it.

I was curious to see if any state/local law enforcement websites in Mexico had their own Most Wanted pages, and so far it looks like some of them do. There are more than just suspected drug cartel fugitives, many of their cases remind me of stories from AMW. Since some of these fugitives actually flee to the United States, would anyone like to see some these recent fugitive cases on the site?

To be honest, I know this sounds contradictory, but because of the lawlessness in many parts of Mexico, and a back and forth but ever-improving relationship, we've gotten a lot of fugitives back but there's still work to do, I'd like to focus on mainly just the U.S. and Canada. If there are fugitives possibly in the U.S. and there are articles with U.S. phone numbers for a location they are believed to have possibly fled to. For instance, "Mexican murder suspect possibly in LA, call the LAPD at... if you've seen him" then it's ok, but if Mexico hasn't asked for help from us, I feel rather uncomfortable. Just being honest.
Also, the other exception I'd make is if it's an Interpol case. It's cool to do any of their cases from anywhere in the world since that's the point of their agency.

I should add I have always thought about a "World's Most Wanted" section that profiles fugitives from Interpol, if anyone thinks it's a good idea. I also think it's safe they say those fugitives wouldn't count towards any personal wanted list criteria, but it would be good to have them.

Of course the one problem is having enough cases. To be honest not trying to sound ethnocentric but since mostly Americans read this site- American cases are my priority so I'd be posting one Interpol a case at most. And I've looked up some fugitives and can only find articles in Google translate broken English. So even finding cases would be hard. But it's an idea at least...

Also, just realized Mexican cases wouldn't count towards World's Most Wanted anyway since Mexico is a part of North America. (All Central American countries are technically part of North America but eh... nevermind I'll only worry about it if we ever actually do a World's Most Wanted section

They've profiled Canadian fugitives on World's Most Wanted special editions before (the Canadian Hells Angels come to mind) so I don't see why Mexico and Canada wouldn't count as "World's Most Wanted" cases

Fair points, I'm not yet planning on a World's Most Wanted section, but it is an outside possibility for the future so I'll keep that in mind. The other thing I'm thinking of is setting up a tip form for this site- or featuring our e-mail address more prominently on the case profiles. I've always been weary of taking tips not being law enforcement or AMW/The Hunt- but a lot of people seem to register and give me information anyway- so I wind up having to forward information anyway. Not to mention the countless people who register and say "I know about a case" and then never bother to log in. And it also kills me because if we ever do lead to a capture or if we have already, we may have no idea it was us since we don't have our own tip form but just refer everyone elsewhere. I'll probably ask somebody who would know about these things if it's ok- they're busy right now but in the future I'll probably ask- it would essentially be a volunteer site taking tips- so I have no idea if stuff such as ensuring people can remain anonymous and such apply to us.
