Oh yeah, the saying goes for any fugitive. They have to get lucky every single day. Law enforcement only has to get lucky once. So many of the long-timers I want to see caught badly, including Said, still haven't been caught yet, so I'm just choosing to not get my hopes up and outright declare who's getting caught, etc.... But the law of averages dictates at least one of the nine has to be captured one day and hopefully soon. I will jump for joy if it's Said.  |

Said is likely and he's due, of all fugitives I'm feeling Yaser's time is running out not to get any hopes up but that's my opinion.

Not an update, but just thought I'd bump this case by sharing what I've been doing with regards to this case. I've been keeping my eyes extra peeled lately for Yaser Said, yes possibility he's in New York City, but he may be in Suburban Maryland, Washington, D.C., or Northern Virginia, he has a possibility of being a cab driver anywhere and staying vigilant is what will solve this case. Yaser may be working as a cabbie in a major city, suburban areas. I have printed a couple of posters and asked 2 businesses here in the area to plaster the posters on their windows in order to bring in more tips on him. He needs to go down now, & 8 years is a long time and he needs to pay.

Does anyone here think, if he hasn't fled to Egypt, that Yaser might not be driving a regular taxi cab but perhaps might be driving something like an Uber or Lyft or any of the other ride sharing apps in NYC or another large city? There have been news reports and exposes of convicted felons somehow getting through background checks and becoming Uber drivers. Even if Uber has gotten better, he probably became a driver before the expanded controversy. (I still say for all those drunk driving cases out there Uber is a still a better and obviously legal compared to your own car, see if the driver is well rated and if it's available in your city or area there's also Uber Pool where you ride with other passengers).
In especially large cities like NYC, Uber (and other apps) have been cutting into the bottom line of the traditional cab industry. It could cause Yaser to want to drive one instead.
The only catch here is when it comes to credit cards and him not being handed cash which is much easier for a fugitive, but I assume Yaser Said can use an alias to get one.

Always wanted to see this scumbag brought to justice. I think he is going to be hard to find, even if he is still in the US. He looks like a lot of cab drivers and could easily wear a hat and sunglasses and not raise any suspicion as a cab driver. Like others here, I think zeroing in on his known relatives will lead to his capture.

As I've said for the longest time Yaser Said will be the likely pre-2015 fugitive to be captured or located.
There are millions of taxi cabs roaming the streets of America, also Uber drivers. Trying to find him is like finding a needle in a haystack especially if he's in a major city than of course the analogy does seem fit.
When the FBI added Yaser Said in December 2014 they were searching for cases that would benefit from publicity the list generates, as it says in the FBI podcast.
I know a lot of you guys especially Scumhunter wanted Said added for the longest time... but looking nearly 2 years, what are your thoughts on this addition?

I'm glad someone finally acknowledged my Uber driver theory LOL.
No thoughts really- he's proven to be a difficult fugitive capture but it was absolutely the right decision to add him to the list- it was just six years too late when he should have been a breaking news addition.

Also 2 years is a relatively short amount of time since being added- I wouldn't get too discouraged based on that.

Well I decided to reflect on this addition since he is a recent addition as well as a long time fugitive and it isn't a guy close to being dead like say Bishop.
Also I acknowledged it because it's actually possible, say he no longer has access to a cab he can always be an uber driver depending on the loopholes there are to become one without nobody suspecting who he is.

Thank you for agreeing with my possible theory, better late than never LOL. The fact of the matter is though that in a big city like New York there aren't just regular taxicabs and App vehicles but plenty of gypsy cabs as well. It's very easy for Yaser to remain anonymous and drive in a somewhat unregulated vehicle, app-related or otherwise. I think rather than looking in 7 zillion vehicles for a needle in a haystack, perhaps what should be done is look closer into his relatives that live in New York (the one in Shrub Oak in Westchester) and into the neighborhoods with an Egyptian population, especially ones with hookah bars, that Yaser might frequent. Perhaps also interview owners of cab companies, especially in Queens (where Little Egypt is), to see if perhaps Yaser registered a vehicle under an alias. I'd also personally go to every hookah bar in the city and Westchester and give wanted posters to the owners if I were the FBI. (Not a criticism, they've done as good a job as they can so far, just a suggestion that they may have done already.) |

They can't arrest his relatives but they can stake out to monitor his relatives to see if Yaser is seeing them.
