Yes definitely and I believe that's already been discussed as a possibility. I think one of his known aliases is his brother's name. Yes the fact that he could have used one of his brothers identity was mentioned by an another poster but I’m not sure who, and I’m not sure if the flight from Canada to Egypt was discussed as well.

Specifically I believe it is Yassein whose name he uses.

I have said this before, I wish the FBI could just arrest the whole family until one of them gives up Yaser Said. A few days in solitary confinement will have them singing a different tune.

Anyone else on here think Yaser Said has been Captured in Egypt, but the only way the FBI can only confirm a capture is if he is successfully extradited back to U.S. soil?
I know that’s what happened with Jose Guevara in 2013-2014. He apparently turned himself in to Mexican authorities in October 2013, but his poster didn’t say surrendered until July 31, 2014 once he was extradited back to Louisiana.
Could it be that Egyptian news sites have reported it but we just don’t know or Egyptian authorities actually took him into custody already, secretly as it would cause outrage from people in Egypt?

Anything is possible but unlike Guevara which wasn't as well known to the general public, this would be a huge case to keep under wraps like that. The passionate person in me wants to agree with you it's a possibility, but the realist in me wants to be cautiously optimistic.

But I do agree with you, if they do catch him in Egypt, they might or even probably will attempt to keep it secret at first. Granted it's the FBI, and if anyone can it's them, just that even for the premier law enforcement agency in the world to keep such a high publicity fugitive capture under wraps like that will be a tough challenge (but I'll never lose faith).

The reason why I think it would be kept secret is because the people in many middle eastern countries look at the U.S. unfavorably sadly, and since Egypt’s institutions are for the most part Pro-U.S., they would likely send him back but Egyptian Gov’t won’t say a thing about it.

In summary, I actually agree with you they will try to keep it a secret and he's captured in Egypt until the day he's back on U.S. soil, no chances taken. I just don't think he's been captured yet unfortunately, as much as I'd like to think so.

I would suggest that the image allegedly of Yaser in 2015 in Egypt, should be included on the Ten Most Wanted poster in order to add pressure on Egyptian authorities or get the Egyptian people aware of his resurfacing there.

On the positive note here; there is actually an FBI attaché office at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. Thankfully this attaché office only covers Egypt since there are others that cover multiple countries, which means they likely don’t have their hands tied up. www.fbi.gov/contact-us/legal-attache-offices

As said earlier in the thread usually a photo on a private eye's blog, well known or not, isnt the best proof, but that definitely looks like Yaser in Egypt.
Perhaps the FBI has their reasons for not acknowledging even if they know for sure he's in Egypt.

The United States does have an extradition treaty with Egypt. Not sure why they would keep it private, since its not like Egypt would have to secretly deport him.

The reason I said they’d have to arrest him and extradite him secretly to the U.S. since sadly the United States isn’t seen in a good light in that part of the world, though that would be my opinion as to why they’d extradite him secretly.

I see. I don’t think the Egyptians would take kindly to a double murderer, though. They are definitely more civilized than other Middle Eastern countries.

As I said before, I think whether one or the other would want to keep an arrest of Said secret or not, I don't see how they could possibly do so considering how high-profile a case it is.
