Excellent observation westongale,
It is entirely possible. Although I've seen alias named Yaser has used so perhaps he already had a fake I.D. of another name.

The 10th anniversary is quickly approaching and I’m curious to know what investigators should do (assuming Yaser is not caught) for the 10th anniversary?
I think the FBI should do a reward increase to $200,000 or $250,000, which would make sense since he’s been on the list for nearly 3 years and he’s a modern long running fugitive like Jason Brown (whom I think is due for another reward increase as well).
Plus this will boost publicity for Yaser Said where ever he may be. But then again what do you guys think?

I don't think that a reward increase is necessary since I feel Yaser may not be as in hiding as we think and it's a matter of convincing Egypt or wherever he is to send him back to us.
There's been so much publicity on him already so aside from a Hollywood movie theres been basically everything to put public pressure on Egypt should he be hiding there.
IMO, it's a matter of negotiation and/or Yaser being stupid enough to get on a plane at this point.

Yep, I think this is a case where we will see him die abroad unless Egypt feels the need to extradite him, which I wouldn't count on.

Supposedly Egypt is the only Arab country besides Turkey that has an extradition treaty with the United States. And they did once send back an AMW fugitive in the 1990's (a doctor wanted for sexually assaulting his patients). However, examples like that seem few and far between. Some deal has to be made, but whatever the deal could be I have no idea.

On Twitter the FBI Dallas during both occasions the FBI added new Top ten fugitives recently (Castillo & Munguia) they still reminded the public that Yaser Said is still on the FBI Top Ten.

Yaser Said has been on the Top Ten List for exactly 3 years now.

Hey guys, just thought I'd bump this thread since today's the 10th anniversary of Amina & Sarah's tragic deaths and that they not be forgotten, especially not until their cowardly "father" is caught & where he should be. He is my #1 fugitive on my personal Dirty Dozen list that I want apprehended the most. Let's try & make this the year that he is finally captured! R.I.P. Amina Said & Sarah Said.

Unfortunately it’s been 10 years since Yaser Said has been a fugitive, we also hope that he gets captured this year and that Egyptian authorities work with U.S. law enforcement to finally bring him back to the states.

I was a bit busy today and can't believe I forgot as I had planned on mentioning this day before a boatload of distractions.
Said is also my public enemy #1. (used to be Robert Fisher but due to uncertainty on whether or not he's alive while we know Said unfortunately probably is made changed my mind). And it is very depressing to know it's been 10 years now, but hopefully this is finally the year he's in an American prison cell.

Is it possible Yaser used a false identification or identification of one of his brothers in order to flee to Canada and then fly from Canada to Egypt so he would be able to flee undetected.

Yes definitely and I believe that's already been discussed as a possibility. I think one of his known aliases is his brother's name.
