Thank you JA! I've been slowly combing over it. It definitely seems there's evidence he was preparing to go off into the wilderness; the fact that he was given MRE's shortly beforehand, and the water purification filter in particular from what I've read so far. My family, friends and I all enjoy camping/hunting/hiking - everything from really roughing it to all the comforts of home in an RV. I'll tell you... the only purpose I know of that people get a relatively expensive purification filter like that is for extending backpacking - at least 3 days in the backcountry. Otherwise you just carry the water you need and/or plan to stop at places with potable water supply, like formal campgrounds.
I'm less than halfway through the reports so I don't know if they revisit it - but I'm also intrigued by his purchase of an oil filter for a motorcycle. Has this ever been explained?

Fishers life long dream was a cabin in the mountains. Colorado is highly populated and its expensive to live there. On the other hand Idaho,Montana,& Alaska are more remote with abundant Wildlife. There are a lot of abandoned cabins where a guy could hide also lots of seasonal people are gone in the Winter, and leave a lot of supplies in their cabins, heating fuel etc. with or without permission somebody could stay, just a thought. how hard core Survivalist is he?

He had changed the oil in his the day before the explosion. jscurious: I agree on Idaho, Montana and Colorado as being possible places in could be. Alaska is quite rough conditions but if he's that determined to stay free than it shouldn't be an issue. The FBI has actually advertised in a few different parts of Idaho as I believe they received multiple tips pertaining to that area: news.google.com/newspapers?id=86lfAAAAIBAJ&sjid=jjIMAAAAIBAJ&pg=4805,4328307&dq=robert+william+fisher&hl=en

Cool! Not that I'm not appreciative, but my recommendation would be still to upload videos for private use. I'd be more than happy to get a vimeo account and I'm sure other members would so I could see them in private. Fox claims copyright everywhere there's an AMW airing. I'll leave it here for now, but if they were to ask me, I'd have no choice but to take it down. (I assume they would contact Vimeo to take it down but just to be on the safe side. This would also cover your butt as well from having to re-upload everything on vimeo again if Fox forced them to take it down ) I realize I've added AMW re-enactments myself, but they were ones found on the web that seemed to be there for quite some time not claimed copyright by Fox for whatever reason. It might be a bit different when an AMW airing is uploaded out of nowhere on the web. In any case, thanks for the upload! It was a great and thorough airing and hopefully we can keep it on here! Even better if Fisher can get captured finally!

The lettering seems to say Raiders but the design itself looks like the bolt in the Charges logo so it's a bit confusing LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a team hat and was something else.

A new article about how this week will mark the thirteen year anniversary of the manhunt for Robert William Fisher. The agent interviewed vows the FBI will never give up, and according to the agent, he finds it unlikely a man described as arrogant and difficult to get along with would take his own life. Is it wrong of me to ask though if perhaps perhaps Fisher could have succumbed to the elements if he hid out there for a long time? I know he was an avid outdoorsman, but sometimes there are extenuating circumstances beyond anyone's control. abcnews.go.com/US/fbi-give-finding-wanted-fugitive-robert-fisher/story?id=23288752

12 years later, hunt for Scottsdale murder suspect Robert Fisher continues The manhunt for Scottsdale fugitive Robert William Fisher continues 12 years after police suspect he slit the throats of his family, shot his wife in the head and blew up their Scottsdale home in an attempt to cover up the murders. Fisher’s wife, Mary, 38, and their two children Brittney, 13, and Bobby, 10, were murdered inside their Scottsdale home on April 10, 2001. Ten days later, Mary’s vehicle was located in the mountains near Payson. Inside the vehicle the family dog Blue was found along with an Oakland Raiders hat. Robert Fisher was recorded wearing the hat by security cameras in his last confirmed sighting. Fisher, 51, is listed on the the FBI’s top 10 most wanted list and the FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to his arrest. The FBI alerted law enforcement in 2012 that Fisher may be living in the Payson area in Gila County. He is an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman, said Manuel Johnson, spokesman for the FBI. “We don’t believe he’s going to change from those characteristics,” Johnson said. The FBI receives leads on the whereabouts of Fisher on a weekly and monthly basis, Johnson said. Each lead is assessed based on the information provided. Throughout the last decade there have been numerous lookalikes and leads from all over the United States and abroad, he said. www.azcentral.com/video/1207306269001

So with the discovery of Shane Miller's body in a similar case, does this change any of our minds about Fisher? Because some of the same things said about Miller- can be a survivalist, is way too arrogant to commit suicide, have been said about Fisher. Not to mention he hasn't been seen and there haven't really been any credible sightings since he disappeared into Tonto National Forest. Beacher Hackney and Miller have proved that search teams while doing their best don't always find the body even if it's literally hiding in plain sight.
The difference between Bradford Bishop and Fisher is there have been solid leads and sightings that Bishop is still alive. (or at least was still alive years after the crime and didn't kill himself afterwards) If there is regarding Fisher, they haven't been discussed in the media.
Sadly in my opinion Fisher may never be taken off the top 10 list as a resolved case if he is dead because his body may be way too decomposed to ever discover. Our only hope is if he's still alive and he slips up or someone has the courage to call the FBI. Sadly, I can see him remaining on the list a long time before it's assumed he must be dead.

Well if Fisher committed suicide by falling into a creek, that would explain why his dog wasn't with him. (I had to say that due to Shane Miller) I'm just still confused as to why he would commit suicide since he was withdrawing money from an ATM after the murders. But with no confirmed sightings, if he's alive then either he's done everything right as a fugitive to stay undetected or is living a life similar to that of Joseph Burgess. If he did end up committing suicide in the forest, then it may be never recovered sadly.

My feeling is some of these fugitives who kill themselves might not have necessarily planned on doing so initially- but do later on. So perhaps Fisher planned on fleeing saw the police coming and figured he would be caught. Or perhaps because of how religious he supposedly was- he changed his mind about fleeing and couldn't bear to live with what he did. At least one would hope what he did would torture him. And of course there's always the possibility that he died due to the elements. He may have been a survivalist but anything can happen out there.

If he did kill himself, it most likely wasn't at the Tonto National Forest where his SUV was found. Ralph DiFonzo said he believes if Fisher was dead, the dog would never have left his side. I tend to agree with that; plus there's also that story about Fisher allegedly calling the AMW hotline after his first profile in August 2001 (which couldn't be confirmed, but if it was brought up the FBI must at least have some evidence it was him).

Whoa. I didn't know they think he may have called amw's hotline in 2001. What was the reason? Was it to surrender and/or claim it wasn't him and someone else murdered his family?
