I thought that was a possibility at first but then I said to myself it would be such an easy thing to identify if it actuallt was an H&M belt, or they would ask H&M if it could be one of their belts since it would seem so initially obvious so my feeling is they think the belt is possibly the initials of the killer.

There’s also the possibility that it may be a knock off H&M belt, it could have been bought somewhere along the lines of a flea market or a swap meat (not to bash flea markets or swap meats, but they most of the times sell knock off items).

An H&M knockoff belt is a very good theory and in my opinion more plausible than an actual H&M belt. Not a bad angle to look at!

I have questions: Have the victims of these murders seen in company of a man and did they get into his vehicle? If yes, why was no sketch of the suspect made and no describption of the car made as well? Did the killer contact his victims with his cell phone? If the victims had a cell phone number, you might be able track the number which called all the victims and then find the killer. The killer certainly knew the victims or perhaps observed them very closely in order to get more easily in their confidence zone.

Once again every time you come here you ask questions none of us would know the answer to unless we're detectives. I just want to clarify these are rhetorical questions you're asking. I don't want to be rude and not respond so just wanted to state for future reference I'm just going to not answer not out of malice but because I'm assuming they're rhetorical. I'll respond in the rare event I actually know the answer.

I also wanted to mention he's apparently been charged with three of the murders and is a suspect in the fourth. I am only placing this case in the captures section because he seems to be the overall "main" LISK that was being sought, but there may be other killers in the other LI cases out there.

That's the scary part to me. He's likely responsible for some of the murders but not all of them.

Yeah in retrospect I am going to move back to unsolved section since even though the Gilgo Beach murders part of this are solved (as far as police concerned) it seems impossible Heuermann committed all eleven murders (it doesn't mean he had an accomplice just that other killings may not be related)
It is great that they caught guy probably responsible for the largest percentage of course.

The courts will have to determine Mr. Heuermann’s guilt, but the evidence seems damning. Apparently, they had two DNA matches from Heuerman from a hair left in a bag found near one victim, and from a pizza crust found at the scene. His wife’s hairs were also found on three victims. www.cnn.com/2023/07/14/us/gilgo-beach-murders-suspect-arrest

What is most scary perhaps is that Heuermann doesn't fit the stereotype of a serial killer- he was a successful Manhattan businessman. Joseph Deangelo was someone neighbors were already leery of. Even Dennis Rader despite being President of his church had some people describe unpleasant run-ins with him when he was an animal control officer. Heuermann didn't really seem to have any red flags aside from (and I hate the stereotype since I used to be a shy quiet person) the quiet and kept to himself albeit it seems mainly when he was younger trope.
