There are reports that while in Mexico, Ethan got hammered in a strip club, couldn't pay his bill, and summoned his mom to pay for it. This same *kid* is trying to fight extradition. I'm not trying to pretend to be Mr. Morality when it comes to these DUI homicide cases. I was a youth once, I've had alcohol under age. I've been drunk before. The difference is A) I know my limits and B) I didn't kill four people. Regardless of age, Ethan lost his privilege to drink (or rather *should have* lost his privilege to drink) for what should have been at least 10 years when he did that. This is a case where even if he's extradited, whether Couch does four months or 10 years, he will get out one day. The only hope we have for these cases when these guys or girls get out is that they learned their lesson and whether they drink or not, no longer become a danger to the public. I'm not sure Ethan will ever learn his lesson. And quite frankly, that scares me. www.rawstory.com/2016/01/ethan-couch-got-hammered-in-mexican-strip-clubs-then-made-his-mom-pay-the-2100-tab-reports/

Couch's lawyers will reportedly drop his extradition fight as they 'investigate' whether he was taken to Mexico against his well. So yeah the same Ethan who was partying with friends and allegedly seen drinking on video despite him being on probation for killing four people that wound up in Mexico by himself in a strip club spending so much money his mom had to come rescue him and pay them may have been taken 'against his will.' Obviously his parents haven't helped, but at one point you have to stop blaming the parents and let the individual take responsibility as well. Right? *sigh* www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2016/01/affluenza_teen_ethan_couch_hel_1.html

Ethan will be sent back to the U.S. in one or two days after dropping his appeal. I guess the only question now is will he only get four months or charged as an adult and face up to 10 years. I feel it should be the latter, but even if it's only four months, at least Ethan will get a taste of prison as opposed to just frigging probation. Then hopefully he can see it's a place he doesn't want to and tries to become a productive member of society afterwards, as much as I have my doubts, and as much as I can't blame any of his victims if they choose to never forgive him. I think the main concern here is whenever Couch gets out, him no longer being a danger on the road. abc13.com/news/affluenza-teen-drops-mexico-appeal-returns-in-1-or-2-days/1174792/

A Judge has moved Ethan's case to an adult court. The ruling means that Couch could face 120 days in jail, then finish his 10-year probation. If he violates his probation during that time, he could get up to 10 years in prison for each crash victim. Some may consider 120 days too light a sentence, but I'm just glad Ethan has already now spent time in jail and will face some jail time as opposed to entirely getting away with it. philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2016/02/19/judge-moves-affluenza-teens-case-to-adult-court/

Well it turns out that Ethan Couch was released after nearly 2 years in prison.

Yeah it's unfortunate. He obviously deserved a lot more and it was a ridiculously light sentence. All we can do is hope for the best and that Ethan doesn't drink drive and kill anyone again.
