Captain Arcudi (who is jarcudi on our forum. I figured it out!) did a great job on In Pursuit tonight. Captain Arcudi, if you come back, thank you so much for your neverending efforts to finally find Eubanks.
On the show they mention some of the accounts from Eubanks' time in California that were previously mentioned on our forum.
Eubanks was reportedly spotted in Mansfield Ohio in 2010 and his father passed away in 2012.
Even though Eubanks would bs 76 now, there is a very good possibility he may still be alive based on that sighting.

Just a reminder that Season 1 volume 2 including the Eubanks episode (which I believe will be episode 3) will come out today on Netflix.

Saw the episode, a warning in advance I will be posting spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet. Some of this may have already been mentioned on the AMW and In Pursuit but nevertheless to be succinct:
-Eubanks was known in Mansfield as a neighborhood oddball who walked around swinging nunchuks. He was arrested two times on sex offenses and was out on bond for rape at the time of Mary Ellen Deener's murder.
-A fellow former death row inmate named "Bill" interviewed for the segment described Eubanks as cocky and opinionated with a talent for writing and painting.
-Eubanks was described as a smooth talker who could put on a facade hence the privileges he was awarded- including getting to participate in art shows in addition to that now infamous mall trip.
-It is believed Eubanks didn't decide to simply take advantage and escape as a spur of the moment decision but that his escape from the mall was pre-planned. He had more visits than usual- weekly rather than monthly- in the weeks prior to his escape.
-They actually show a brief clip and mention the America's Most Wanted segment leading to the first significant progress in the case in 20 years. The segment eventually leads to Kay Banks- Eubanks prison penpal and his cousin's widow who lived in Los Angeles. Eubanks made his way to her place after laying low in Michigan painting houses in the weeks after his escape.
-He applied for a hunting license using the name Victor Young in California
-He worked at a mattress factory in Gardena, California in the mid-1980s.
-Around 2003, a woman who had visited Mose Eubanks, Lester's late father, mentions he once stepped away to take a call from his son who lived in Alabama who was taking a break from painting a house. Phone call records traced back to a trouble youth center in Alabama where there was a man around there matching Lester's description who had a suspected fake social security number and no driver's license, however he left the location months prior to authorities arriving.
-Main states mentioned with friends and/or family members of Eubanks: California, Washington, Texas Alabama Florida Michigan Ohio
-Lester's huge scar on his arm is of course mentioned but Lester being a talented painter is stressed even more as a clue than in past TV segments and articles.

Reward increased to $50,000 by Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force P.S. Did anyone watch the Unsolved Mysteries episode? Most of us have Netflix right? I mean I get this is an AMW fan page and Unsolved Mysteries was technically their rival back in the day but it seems like we're purposely avoiding the show at this point even when episodes have FUGITIVE cases we cover, like no one besides me ever talks about the new Unsolved Mysteries on here lol. (In fairness, I practically transcribed the episode in my summary anyway-) www.wltx.com/article/news/crime/reward-increased-lester-eubanks-ohio-child-killer/95-4c802bf2-9dd9-4d6d-8d4e-98b1783bb092

I'm just turned off of true crime shows talking about a single unresolved case for an entire hour (I believe this is the case for the new Unsolved Mysteries, correct me if I am wrong). After many of the single-case episodes of The Hunt, these types of episodes are not for me. EDIT: If the new Unsolved Mysteries had a similar format to In Pursuit, then I would definitely watch it.

Oh no I feel the same way as you, just I thought we'd make an exception for the fugitive cases and pay attention to them at least. I get the other guy was from France but now even Eubanks lol.
It is a catch-22 though. I'd rather multiple cases on an episode, but sometimes details get missed when doing that.

Today is the 47th anniversary of his disappearance, and the second anniversary since he was added to the US Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitives list.

Thank you the link didn't work for me but we previously posted it just got buried with other replies lol. Also off-topic but I saw you registered again. We normally don't approve two profiles but since I know you I approved the new registration just in case you prefer to use that one. I have no doubt the new AMW will profile Eubanks once more.
